Lisey Debusher Landon lost her husband, Scott, two years ago, after a twenty-five-year marriage of the most profound and sometimes frightening intimacy. Scott was an award-winning, bestselling novelist and a very complicated man. Early in their relationship, before they married, Lisey had to learn from him about books and blood and bools. Later, she understood that there was a place Scott went — … — a place that both terrified and healed him, could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live. Now it’s Lisey’s turn to face Scott’s demons, Lisey’s turn to go to Boo’ya Moon. What begins as a widow’s effort to sort through the papers of her celebrated husband becomes a nearly fatal journey into the darkness he inhabited. Perhaps King’s most personal and powerful novel, Lisey’s Story is about the wellsprings of creativity, the temptations of madness, and the secret language of love.

Lisey’s Story is about what you may imagine would happen to Stephen King’s wife if he was no longer with us. The harassment of someone trying to get some of his unpublished written works, and how she protects it. The love and devotion to her departed husband knows no bounds as she protects his work, including having to fight for her own life. …
“She would have thought two years was enough time for the strangeness to rub off, but it wasn’t; time apparently did nothing but blunt grief’s sharpest edge so that it hacked rather than sliced.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Stephen King named “Lisey’s Story” as the best book he ever wrote. It’s a deeply personal story with a passionate …
“Lisey’s Story” by Stephen King is being made into a limited TV series, so now is the perfect time to read the book. Lisey Debusher’s late husband Scott was a prolific writer of best-selling “unusual” fiction. Their personal lives were even more complicated and uncommon than his books. Even after two years, Lisey still has a difficult time …
I did not love it as much as I loved his early works of the 1970s through mid-1980s
One of my favorite Stephen King novels. A spine-tingling love story.
This was awesome. A tad longwinded, but an amazing addition to the King Universe. A+++
Another great story from the King!
Love every book of his that I have read, always engaging and clever storytelling!
I found this book very different from King’s usual fare. It was not something I enjoyed, liked, or even found palatable. I couldn’t finish it and would not recommend it to a friend. Why? Too much gratuitous pain.
good read
I really like this book. An alternate world seen through the eyes of the self-characterized as the unremarkable one of the couple, is clearly not. She was the real hero of the book, the steel in the author’s spine. Just a mesmerizing read. So good.
Recently we rented this sweet little cabin in Virginia. On the bookshelf I found this book by Stephen King. I was excited I don’t run across many of his books I have not read. The owner graciously allowed me to take it with me since I did not finish it while there. It’s a older book written in 2007. I had a hard time with the beginning of the book …
Typical SK book. Long descriptive paragraphs, sentences. Enchantingly graphic, gory & suspenseful.
Very much enjoyed it.
my fav
One of my all time favorites!
Love love reading Kings books another great one!
Being a widow, I hesitated picking this book up. But it was actually quite cathartic for me to travel with Lisey through her journey of grief and resolution. Typical King with lots of paranormal and somewhat horrific twists. An interesting read.
this book was so amzing when i started i coulded stop
Awesome imaginative book
This is another King original. By the time you figure out what is actually happening you are nearly through the book. Suspense and twists and turns galore with a scary, horror underlaying it all.
