Lisey Debusher Landon lost her husband, Scott, two years ago, after a twenty-five-year marriage of the most profound and sometimes frightening intimacy. Scott was an award-winning, bestselling novelist and a very complicated man. Early in their relationship, before they married, Lisey had to learn from him about books and blood and bools. Later, she understood that there was a place Scott went — … — a place that both terrified and healed him, could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live. Now it’s Lisey’s turn to face Scott’s demons, Lisey’s turn to go to Boo’ya Moon. What begins as a widow’s effort to sort through the papers of her celebrated husband becomes a nearly fatal journey into the darkness he inhabited. Perhaps King’s most personal and powerful novel, Lisey’s Story is about the wellsprings of creativity, the temptations of madness, and the secret language of love.

Very different from most of Steven Kings writing. Keeps you on your toes.
Stephen King at his best. I cry every time I read this book. Everyone should read this.
One of my favorite books- so much so that I own the hard cover version.
One of my absolute favorite Stephen King books. You get the best of him in this story; complete terror, heartbreakingly sad, and laugh out loud. Plus characters you’ll never forget.
This book was quite different from other books Stephen King wrote but still enjoyable.
All Stephen King books are fantastic.
Not his best.
I know I am biased because I love Stephen King but a great piece as usual. Taking you to places you would not go to on your own.
I love everything pretty much that Stephen King writes. For me they seem to fall into two categories,
1) very realistic stories where something otherworldly happens.
2. Books that are pretty much unbelievable from the start.
Books falling into #1 are my favorites but they are all great!
One of my favorite Stephen King novels.
SOWISA, babyluv
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The love between Scott and Lisey while not perfect was just beautiful to read. I also enjoyed the dynamic between the sisters. You have a love story, a death, a grieving wife, a lunatic trying to swindle the widow, and a supernatural element all in one story. Seriously what’s not to love?
I love Stephen Kings book, I think I have read all of them, but this one no what I thought it would be, I was very disappointed. It was boring!
It was okay, not one of his best.
This is a great book. It’s not Stephen Kings usual horror style but it’s just as exciting.
I really like King, but this was a hard book to read. I started it, hated it, quit it, started it again. Second time, it was still irritating, but at least I finally got into it. The faux language Lisey and Scott used makes my teeth hurt, really annoying.
This is not the first King book that wasn’t up to what I thought was his standards, but …
Lisey’s Story by Stephen King is a story about Lisey and the love she has for her husband.
I adore King’s work, and this book was no exception. To me, this is a love story only the way King can do it, and of course there is imagination running amok. All I can say is that I loved it, but I’m bias when it comes to King which is why I usually don’t …
Stephen King has done it again and given me these feelings of inspiration and overwhelming feelings. Lisey’s Story is not like anything you have read by him. In my eye it is an accumulation, a portfolio per say of King’s work. Forget the suspense and horror you are use to when reading his work. Lisey’s Story is of two simple things, very universal …
Yikes, be prepared to be scared! This story gave me weird dreams!
i am a stephen king fan, but i just did not like this book at all. it did nothing for me.
