The Sci-Fi Detective Thriller Gets Cool…Liquid Cool!Liquid Cool Book #1 is the FIRST-IN-SERIES action-packed (and funny) sci-fi detective series.Meet a private eye with a cool hat, laser gun, and attitude. But don’t touch his red hovercar — or you could get shot!Enter the high-tech, low-life world of Liquid Cool as Cruz faces off neon gangsters, sinister cyborgs, corporate samurai soldiers, … Liquid Cool as Cruz faces off neon gangsters, sinister cyborgs, corporate samurai soldiers, and laser-gun shootouts while solving his cases in the rainy supercity of Metropolis. It’s more gritty action and dark humor than you can handle.
In the debut novel that started it all, author Austin Dragon shows why you never want to meet a cyborg in a dark alley.
Liquid Cool is cyberpunk reimagined. It’s cyber-noir. It’s science fiction meets the detective thriller in an ever-rainy world of mega-skyscrapers. Hovercars fly above in the dark, bustling skies and gray people walk below on the grimy, flashy streets of this “neon jungle.” Metropolis isn’t a bad place, but it isn’t a good one either. Uber-governments and megacorporations fight for control of the supercity, but so does crime.
It’s here we meet Cruz, our private eye (and unlikely hero), in this supercity with a million victims and perpetrators.

˃˃˃FIVE STAR REVIEWS
“Lots of shooting, lots of crazy maniacs, lots of action and fun!”
“I loved this book. It takes place in the future, and what a weird future.”
“A funny, intelligent (and sometimes crazy) main character…playing detective”
“Cool and Smooth.”
“Too much fun!”
“This is probably one of the very best cyberpunk novels I’ve ever read!!”
“Page Turner. Constant excitement. The best in 35 years of reading!”
“Delicious Stew That Is Part Sci-Fi, Part Detective, and Part Humor – It is hard to combine two genres into one novel. It is even harder to combine three. Part of the trick…is to know when to back off on each single genre so that the combination, while less than full in any one genre, is a good combination. Austin Dragon uses that trick… this novel would get about three stars in each genre alone, but the combination well deserves five!”

Very interesting new world that this author has created. A lot of character building so you could really get behind the different characters. Very unpredictable page-turner. I thought the detective would stay low-key in his world, but was really interesting how his cases kind of shook up his world instead.
So unique! A great mix of sci-fi and crime solving.
Absolutely totally awesome story line Cool characters will keep you interested
Sci-fi private eye! Very fun
I was originally annoyed at the first few chapters – I thought “is the whole book going to be based on each character, chapter by chapter?”. Then the introductions melded together and I could see how everything was set up. Delightfully dismal glimpse of a time and/or place where all the rules have been skewed.
This was a fun read. Great characters, great pace. Good job.
This was a great read. Interesting characters, story line, thoughtful and action. Definitely want stories about this futuristic detective agency
Classic hardboiled detective novel
A fun read with nutty characters and snarky/ sarcastic dialog (love it) set in a future ala Blade Runner and owing a nod to The Maltese Falcon, Devil in a Blue Dress and others. Cruz a OCD, germaphobe agrees to check into the death of acquaintance and steps knee deep into the world of psycho cyborgs, animal theme gangs and the crazy mad underbelly of a megacity of the future.
The protaganist in this story is so funny, charming, and did I say funny,
I really enjoyed this read alot and am looking forward to more!
Fantastic Series with Great Interesting Characters
and it twists enough to keep you always guessing.
Futuristic detective story. The hero is the Phillip Marlow of the future.
Kind of weird and confusing at times trying to follow the story. I liked the characters and the plot was original. I enjoyed it.
I have had this book almost 3 years? Why did I wait so long? If you’re a fan of old school detective stories and crime thrillers then you ought to give it a chance. Cyberpunk is not something I’m hugely into. I remember buying this and there it languished. I can’t explain nore do I apologise for not visiting sooner- life does get in the way- but Cruz is my new friend and I was greatly surprised at the interest it’s still generating.
Be open to the difference and come visit Metropolis. Highly recommended 5/5
This is an interesting concept for a primary character: a car mechanic becomes a detective, almost by accident because he hasn’t got anything better to do. He goes on to solve a major crime that shakes the government to its core. He has to escape multiple attempts on his life, and fortunately he has some awesome friends to help him. Be sure to read the prequel These Mean Streets, Darkly (A Liquid Cool Prequel) first, it’s got some good and necessary background. If you like the setting and style of the prequel, for sure continue with Liquid Cool. Dystopian cyberpunk isn’t my first choice, but this was pretty good, a huge government conspiracy is uncovered and busted.
Couldn’t get into this
Would like to read more by of this but cannot find them. A real turnoff
It appears the author tried to write a version of Blade Runner and didn’t do a good job.
An OK read. Cyberpunk isn’t my cup of tea. So if you like cyber it would probably be a good read
Campy to the max. Enjoyed this fun look into the future
