The Sci-Fi Detective Thriller Gets Cool…Liquid Cool!Liquid Cool Book #1 is the FIRST-IN-SERIES action-packed (and funny) sci-fi detective series.Meet a private eye with a cool hat, laser gun, and attitude. But don’t touch his red hovercar — or you could get shot!Enter the high-tech, low-life world of Liquid Cool as Cruz faces off neon gangsters, sinister cyborgs, corporate samurai soldiers, … Liquid Cool as Cruz faces off neon gangsters, sinister cyborgs, corporate samurai soldiers, and laser-gun shootouts while solving his cases in the rainy supercity of Metropolis. It’s more gritty action and dark humor than you can handle.
In the debut novel that started it all, author Austin Dragon shows why you never want to meet a cyborg in a dark alley.
Liquid Cool is cyberpunk reimagined. It’s cyber-noir. It’s science fiction meets the detective thriller in an ever-rainy world of mega-skyscrapers. Hovercars fly above in the dark, bustling skies and gray people walk below on the grimy, flashy streets of this “neon jungle.” Metropolis isn’t a bad place, but it isn’t a good one either. Uber-governments and megacorporations fight for control of the supercity, but so does crime.
It’s here we meet Cruz, our private eye (and unlikely hero), in this supercity with a million victims and perpetrators.

˃˃˃FIVE STAR REVIEWS
“Lots of shooting, lots of crazy maniacs, lots of action and fun!”
“I loved this book. It takes place in the future, and what a weird future.”
“A funny, intelligent (and sometimes crazy) main character…playing detective”
“Cool and Smooth.”
“Too much fun!”
“This is probably one of the very best cyberpunk novels I’ve ever read!!”
“Page Turner. Constant excitement. The best in 35 years of reading!”
“Delicious Stew That Is Part Sci-Fi, Part Detective, and Part Humor – It is hard to combine two genres into one novel. It is even harder to combine three. Part of the trick…is to know when to back off on each single genre so that the combination, while less than full in any one genre, is a good combination. Austin Dragon uses that trick… this novel would get about three stars in each genre alone, but the combination well deserves five!”

A little slow to start, but builds nicely. Lots of characters to keep track of, but very ennjoyable.
Dashiell Hammet met Blade Runner.
A well done future detective novel in a nucular winter Earth.
A bizarre alternate universe detective story with frequent interludes of domestic humor. A world where loss of body parts is merely a minor inconvenience and the street-level world is filled with characters that strain the imagination. Try to imagine a collaboration between Janet Evanovich and William Gibson.
Awkward phrasing, couldn’t get into it.
loved it. how he dreamed up this world I’ll never know, but it was like I was there.
This series was a great find and totally enjoyable.
Love good sf, but this didn’t come anywhere near for me. Dystopian, criminals, uninteresting.
Love this book, funny, entertaining, great characters a great who done it.
Well done dystopic detective novel. Really interesting twists and turns. Well done mapping of the future where it is always raining and folks live in 200+ story legacy buildings.
Being older, I had no idea what “cyberpunk” was. Obviously this would have been aimed at a teen reader, but it was enjoyable for me too,
Austin Dragon takes readers on a super-cool joy ride through a weird, dystopian future peopled with quirky characters. We get to watch the hero, Cruz, transform himself from a simple laborer into a bona fide detective by solving one tough case. We tag along as Cruz is attacked, shot at, and threatened by everyone from punks to gangsters to police to his future in-laws. Cruz uses his wits and surprisingly quick draw to stay one step ahead of trouble and eventually crack the case. Definitely an enjoyable read.
Starts slow but will take you on an outrageous ride. Laugh out loud moments and head scratching scenes, remarkable characters and a hero in over his head who keeps his liquid cool.
Liquid Cool is the first book in a series of dystopian future detective stories in the style of the movies of Raymond Chandler’s novels. There are thematic references to “Blade Runner” – constant rain, massive buildings, and crushing poverty. In spite of that, the main character maintains his good humor, and overcomes the bad guys.
Very interesting world with good characters and action sequences. Different take on the future but it works.
