Logan Heath was the sweetest and most beautiful boy I had ever seen. He was popular, smart, and the star quarterback of Fort Johnson High. Every girl in school followed him around in hopes of getting his attention. I was no different, except that I admired Logan from afar. With him being a superstar junior and me being an awkward freshman at a new school, our coupling was a mere pipe dream. …
Implementing my top-notch investigating skills I learned from reading The Nancy Drew Mysteries, I followed Logan’s life from high school through his college career, and then some. Fearing that my stalker-ish tendencies were becoming more of a mental health issue, I purposely lost track of him five years ago. I admit since that time I have thought of Logan. And when I say thought I mean he has popped into one or forty R-rated dreams of mine.
The day he walked into my bakery, butterflies fluttered in my stomach, tingles tingled my skin, and a sequence of R-rated dreams flashed through my head. But I was no longer that awkward teenager, too scared to speak to him. I had grown into a confident woman. A woman who wanted to admire Logan Heath up close and personal. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, Logan wanted something from me that I was not willing to give him.

This is the first book that I have read from Alison. This was a very interesting book from beginning to end. Elipheleta (Lip) runs a bakery with her grandmother. A dream the two of them had. Logan the boy she crushed on in high school walks in one day and wants her to sell the bakery to him because of the new hotel going in. Logan works with the company building the hotel and they want her space. She absolutely refuses. But Logan keeps trying. Until they both realize there is more between them. I absolutely loved this storyline. It was sweet, moving, lovable, enjoyable. Logan is a swoon worthy gentlemen. I love how he is there for Lip even if he is there to do a job. There is a very sad moment in this one. Have tissues. But Alison did an amazing job writing this book and has two amazing characters in it. Highly recommend it.
4.5 Stars for Lip Smacker
This is a new author to me and after reading this entertaining funny heartwarming story I have to wonder why she has never crossed my radar until now, I will certainly be keeping an eye out for future books as well as looking back on her previous works as time permits.
Lip and her grandmother run a cupcake bakery but it’s not all sweetness and light as it’s hard selling just cupcakes in a small town and when Logan walks into her shop one day with an offer to try and get them to sell it makes Lip all the more determined to make the bakery successful. Logan may be a hot successful attorney know as “the closer” but that doesn’t mean Lip will be a pushover especially when she realises she has known him since they were teenagers. Lines are crossed and feelings come into play as Logan does his best to get to know why a failing bakery is so important to the sassy girl he knew growing up …….
This is a sweet heartfelt story with all the feels, it’s full of witty banter as Logan and Lip get to know each other all over again. This book touched me on so many levels and although there were many funny moments there were times that my heart truly broke. A well written story that comes from the heart with a sassy heroine and a hot hero with sizzling chemistry and some lines that are as sweet as the cupcakes Lip creates.. Looking forward to more from this talented author.
What a great read! Funny, emotional, swoon-worthy, and frustrating all in one book. Lip and her grandmother are battling to keep their bakery, Logan wants the building for his company. To top it off, Lip and Logan know each other from school, which makes it all the more complicated.
Alison Bailey does a great job of creating the push and pull between a cast of amazing characters that will have you turning page after page. You will not want to put the book down. There are some parts that had me rolling my eyes and shaking my head, but I loved this book. It’s well-written with a funny/good plot, and characters I loved. One-click the 4.5 star book today!
Lip Smacker is a super cute, funny, heart-warming read! I adored it! I loved Logan and Lip. Logan is sexy and swoon-alicious. Lip is sassy and strong. I really enjoyed the storyline and their witty dialogue. There were so many times that I laughed out loud. Lip was a hoot! Along with the angst and humor, there was the perfect amount of heat and emotion to make this the perfect light-hearted read. It was just what I needed! I love this author, and I can’t wait to read what she writes next. Until then, I highly recommend Lip Smacker!

I absolutely adored this book.
Elipheleta “Lip” Smacker is the namesake to her grandmother, nicknamed Wavy. Lip and Wavy are two peas in a pod. They are trying to hold on to their dream of their bakery when Logan “The Closer” waltzes in, trying to help the construction company purchase it.
But Lip knows Logan from the past. She had a major crush on him in high school. And now that he is back in her life she has a hard time wondering if he is truly interested in her, or only interested in her for the sale of her bakery.
You definitely need to one click this cute, hilarious, heartfelt read! You will not be disappointed.
A bit confused by this book. While I loved the plot for this book, I was pretty confused and not loving the book as I started reading. I loved that Lip was so close to her grandmother and wanted to do everything she could to keep the business and her grandmother’s dreams alive. But when her high school crush comes in determined to take it away from her, she’s torn with finally talking to him but not giving up her business. While Logan doesn’t remember her at first, he starts to and then becomes somewhat infatuated with her. It was interesting to see both of them intrigued and infatuated with each other yet continue to keep striking out every time they tried to make something work. For me, this book was a little all over the place, but the ending really made me sad for what Lip goes through but then happy with how things ended for her, because all girls deserve their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

What a cute entertaining story this was! Especially when there are cupcakes involved!
Lip runs a cupcake bakery with her grandmother and when Logan comes in the store to try and get them to sell the business, needless to say nothing really goes according to plan!
I enjoyed reading this book! It was lighthearted, had some steamy moments and some rather sad ones too but all in all it was a good story!I genuinely liked Lip and her sassy comebacks and I liked how things progressed between her and Logan! Definitely a fun read!
Logan and Lip have a fun, often silly, love story with the right amount of conflict and a smidge of heartache too. This couple knew each other in high school and meet again years later. It has a second chance element to it that is lovely. This read has the flavor of the romance books of yesterday with an added helping of sexy. Wink.
It is a good story from a new author to me. If you are look for a sweet book with romantic, creative and imaginative undertones, here it is. Happy Reading Everyone.
This was the first book I have read from this author, but won’t be my last. I really enjoyed this story. Lip is a sassy, quirky character. Logan is a dreamy hero. In a sense this is a second chance, “meet-cute” story as they knew each other in high school. Their adult attraction is instant but the divide between them could be insurmountable. Logan is the calm to Lip’s awkwardness and as a couple they just click and you can’t help but root for them.
Definitely an enjoyable read that sucked me into the story.
Lip Smacker is my first read by Alison G. Bailey. It was a fun, quirky story that I enjoyed reading.
Lip and Logan are a cute couple, and even though they started off as kinda enemies it didn’t last long. Logan knew what he wanted and pursued Lip with the intention of winning her. He was sweet and kind and just the right amount of alpha.
I liked their push and pull and the witty banter and loved how the epilogue gave us so much more than usual.
Sweeter than sugar. Better than a cupcake. More adorable than a baby unicorn and all the rainbows. Hilarious. Guaranteed to hit you right in the feels. Lip Smacker is just all the things! I laughed, cried and swooned like crazy while reading this! Between the adorable and hilarious banter that went on between Logan and Lip and one of the BEST HEA’s ever it’s impossible to not fall in love with this book.
Lip is this adorable, quirky, feisty sweetheart that I instantly loved. The bond she had with her grandmother reminded me so much of the relationship I have with mine it made me fall even harder for her. I swear there wasn’t one thing I didn’t love about her. And Logan? Oh holy swoon! Just as quick witted as Lip, he worked his way into my heart fast than you can say cupcake with all the charm he had.
4.5 stars…
This is a story about life…the good, the bad, the infuriating, and the sad. The characters have pasts that have shaped them. And now they are about to be put head to head over a business deal. Only one can be the winner, right? Or can they both win in the end?
Elipheleta Smacker aka Lip is a strongwilled, smart, and caring bakery owner. She has loss in her past and is very close to her grandmother. She takes great pride in the business they have created together. But they are also in a bit of a slump and a big business owner would love to buy their property.
Enter Logan Heath…the face of the big business…the charming closer…and her high school crush. He is handsome, cocky, confident, and a bit pushy. He is sure the deal is the right move for Lip and her grandmother and is determined to prove it, but these women are stubborn and won’t just fall in line.
But this starts a whole unusual relationship. From antagonism, mistrust, and challenging interactions they fight and flirt. But then slowly an appreciation, fondness, sexual tension, and feelings start to messy the situation up. Unexpected changes and an increasing closeness bring their guards down. But ultimately is one playing the other? Is it manipulation or real?
This is fiery, witty, sexy, sweet, swoony, and heartfelt. It’s kind of an enemies-to-lovers rom-com with a more serious and emotional storyline running through it. These characters can understand loss and the fear of losing more, which adds tension and conflict. I really liked their snappy banter and chemistry. Lip has this big, vibrant, and sassy personality, but still comes off as a bit awkward. Her point of view with self-talk and a few daydreams give us all access to her head and her insecurities and feelings. But Logan’s personality shines through in his actions and flirty quips (and the chapter from his point of view). Together they are so dynamic and fun!
The side characters especially the incomparable Wavy and Mr. Abrams add humor and depth. Lip and Wavy’s relationship is at the heart of this story. This book is about home, soulmates, second chances, and family. It makes you smile and laugh, but it also makes you feel and believe in love.
One of the best things about book blogging is being introduced to new to me authors! When I was invited to read and review Lip Smacker I was cautiously excited. Now I am just honored to have been able to read this funny, swoony and heartfelt romantic comedy!
Lip Smacker gave me ALL THE FEELS, which for someone like me it’s hard for a story to do, but Ms. Bailey brings it in spades with Lip Smacker.
This story is about Elipheleta (Lip) and Logan. It’s about them and it’s about so much more. It’s about love and loss and it’s about finding your new normal after.
Lip is my spirit animal! She is funny, sassy, independent and so, so strong. She has her vulnerabilities but her inner dialogue is phenomenal and all women should have such an inner badass routing for her.
Logan, oh my me…you swoony southern gentleman. He is everything you want in a hero and so much more. He is everything that Lip needs, even when she doesn’t know it and their chemistry together is like a house on fire!
I laughed, I cried and I swooned like a southern debutante reading this story and I loved every page and word! Like I had said, this is the first book by Ms. Bailey but it will not be my last!!
3.5* and here’s why; while this book had a lot of potential it never delivered for me. Don’t get me wrong it was an OK read but it was at times a bit too cheesy for me. The chemistry wasn’t working for me and I had a bit of a struggle to connect with the characters.
Now what I did like was the love Lip and Wavy shared. That was the (only) feeling i felt straight from page one. I did like how Longan ended up helping Lip. To be honest if this was written in two POVs maybe it would make more of a impact with me.
This was my first read by this author and I’m going to read more books by her because I’m hoping that this was more “it’s me it’s not you” kinda read.
