Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy?

5 out of 5 stars
When I started reading this story, I found both the title and the description a bit mysterious. What I found is a science fiction book that is interesting and intriguing. I found myself not able to put it down once I began. I also started asking myself if I would make the same choices as the characters. It includes issues that are thought-provoking. It was enjoyable to read and I found myself glued to the pages until I had read the final one. I enjoyed reading about Naira. She is a character that is passionate about what she believes. I found that she is a complex character who has inner conflict. She is also stubborn. There are many other characters that you read about and interact with Naira. There is sarcasm as well as bantering back and forth between them. There were actions taken by some that made me angry and others that had me mystified. Many of the additional characters also have an inner conflict just as Naira does. The story also has times when there is romance. There is intense dialogue included. Don’t miss out on a wonderfully written story that I found entertaining. I would recommend reading it.
Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? By Gaia B. Amman. Wow what did I just read. Seriously did I just read a book outside my comfort zone and love it! Yes I sure did. This book had me completely hooked from start to end. This story blew me away in a matter of speaking, the authors writing style and attention to details is outstanding. It’s a ride I truly wish I could take again for the first time. The characters are complex and enjoyable to read. You truly get taken on a journey with Naira and the other characters. Pick up this book and buckle up for an enjoyable ride. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it.
Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? was an interesting 4 star read.
This is a sci-fi romance. I was pulled in right from the beginning.
Gaia B Amman brings you into a world that is very unique along with the characters. Naira has been living with the humans and when there is a risk of someone finding out what she is, they come for her. She isn’t happy about it, she hates the Cursoi, but she has plans. Drama is trying to teach and train Naira. Will she be able to go through with her plans?
There were so many great characters. Naira also learns about love. I had some funny moments, and there were some darker ones as well. There are several twist and turns. Overall this was a good read and my first time reading this author. I look forward to reading more from this author to see what other worlds she comes up with. 1-click and get started today.
Amman continues to leave me breathless with her wide array of books and characters. I cannot even begin to explain how much I enjoyed this book. And truthfully I don’t even know how to put into words how much I enjoyed this book. Amman has an innate ability to engulf the reader into her imagination and develop a new world with complex characters and themes that challenge you to consider lines between good and evil, right and wrong, black and white. I truthfully wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked this book up. But truthfully it is best with a book like this to pick it up with a blank slate. Thank you Ms. Amman for sharing this amazing treasure with your readers. It is extremely well written and just a delight to enjoy.
I have had the pleasure of reading novels from Gaia b. Amman before Linked, but this was truly a different experience altogether than anything I think I have ever truly picked up. Not only from a sci-fi point of view, but from the political view as well. Normally these are things I tend to not pick up as choice contenders in general but like I said I have read Amman before and loved her novels up until now so when the title peaked my interest I had to dive in to find out what was behind the cover. I am glad that I did. It was a tad confusing at first but once I got into the swing of the writing I was hooked and truly loved the underlying messages that was being put forth. I think that this is definitely something that people would really find a relief in the current political climate that we are in right now. I know I did, and from reading the author’s notes it seems this was therapeutic to write this novel too. I can’t wait to see what we will get next from Ms. Amman!
I have read several books by this author, but she never fails to surprise me – in a good way. Linked is the type of novel I love to read – futuristic, dynamic and a fabulously-built fantasy world. What sets this book apart for me is the gender neutrality of some of the characters and the fluidity of their sexuality. I found this a refreshing inclusion instead of the girl meets boy type of relationships these novels normally promote.
The writing is fabulous and the worlds that Amman builds are sensational. I love the idea of blinking and travelling in time or across dimensions. The story arc builds to a satisfying, if unpredictable conclusion. I loved the introduction of a different type of love triangle – you will understand that when you read the book. Naira is a strong character who is not swayed by her peers. She will not “merge” just because they tell her she should. I liked that about her.
I cant really say much more without spoilers but read it! If you like dystopian/ fantasy fiction, read it. A change from the YA norm..
Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy by Gaia B. Amman is an incredible dystopian romance story. The author creates a world that is so thrilling to read about and characters that you become so connected with. Everything about this book drew me in and I just had to find out what it was about. And then I had to find out more about the characters and their journey.
The author handles all the different components of the book with ease. I really felt like I was taken along the journey with the characters. The story was original and well crafted. This is a well deserved 5*!
If I could, I would quote the author’s words verbatim from the very last page of this book. I would give that 27 stars on its own – paired with this amazing story…. there aren’t enough stars in the universe.
According to Merriam Webster ™
em·pa·thy | \ ˈem-pə-thē \
1 : the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner
This story has so many amazing layers and undertones. It is written in a way that is pure perfection. While it is set in an imaginary world in the future, there is nothing imaginary about it.
I want to write so much about this story. About how I whipped through it and read it at work and how it took me out of my head and the stuff that’s going on right now. About how I empathized with the characters and what they were going through and about how everyone should have to walk in someone else’s shoes before judging them (don’t get me started about how everyone should have to waitress, work retail, and clean toilets as a job at least once in their lifetime). This is one of those books that I will be recommending to everyone. It was FANTASTIC.
Here are 3 of my favorite quotes:
“Nobody chooses what they are, only what to make with it.”
“Anyone can be the chosen one; you just have to dare to be different.”
“We all feel so entitled to our pain that we make ourselves blind to everyone else’s.”
I’ve read stories by this author before and this is my favorite from her and is in my top 5 of 2019.

Four Stars
I have no words at this moment. I am both confused and giddy over this story. The characters were a mixture of strong and weak. The author did show them growing throughout the story. Rouge and Lethal were weird but perfect. The way the author went about the whole linking them was wild. There were some confusing parts in the beginning but as you keep reading it somewhat explains itself. The merging and linking were not my think and kind of gave me the creeps. To be linked the way they were just wasn’t right. Rouge wasn’t my favorite character. She was very judgmental and controlling. It was almost like she wanted everyone to think the way she thought. The killing got to her but she was willing to kill someone in cold blood to serve her needs. We all live in situations we don’t like but there are better ways around them. I say this story is something you would have to get used to. It’s not something you can just jump right into. I feel you need a guide to the species before reading this story.

Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? By: Gaia B. Amman is a book that started out being confusing but once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Naira is a very passionate person about what she believes she’s also a bit stubborn. Naira and other characters seem to have some inner conflict going on. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough I had to know what happens next. It makes you think if you would make the same choices or not. I highly recommend reading this interesting book.i look forward to reading more from this Author.
Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? By Gaia Amman is an interesting read. I usually do not read Sci-Fi but this one caught my eye by the title. Gaia Amman does an amazing with creating a new world. Ammand has also created some deep insightful characters. This was definitely a page turner for me.I felt myself right there with the characters. Naira is a fun character because she is passionate and knows what she wants. She is stubborn and has the gift of being able to speak sarcasm. She likes to banter with those around her. There is a little romantic moments within the story. With Naira there can be so much more playful. What will come of Naira? Can you fall in love with the enemy?

I thought that Linked was a really interesting read, it isn’t a genre I would normally read however I have read a few books by this author so I thought I would give it a go and I was pleasantly surprised. It is one of those books that has you thinking about what you have read long after you have finished. The authors’ writing was captivating and the book was really well written. It was a really unique and original read that I think readers have to experience the book just to appreciate the story that the author is trying to tell. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in the story and this definitely meant that I had no idea what was going to happen and hence why I was so engaged from the beginning until the end. The characters in the book were well thought out and they developed well as the story progressed.
I think if you are looking for something a little different to read and you enjoy sci-fic/dystopian stories then I would absolutely recommend this book – even if they aren’t your go to genres I would also recommend giving this story a chance!
Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? by Gaia B. Amman is a sci-fi dystopian romance story. I am not a fan of a lot of sci-fi stories and was not sure what to expect but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It is a unique and original story that is twisted in politics and social standings and is thought provoking. The characters are well thought out and at times they frustrated me but it also made the story more fascinating and kept the pages turning. Naira has finally become someone she despises but not by choice, but being exposed to a different way of life is taking its toll. Not only does she have to look at her own prejudices she also needs to teach others. Not until you walk in their shoes do you truly understand.
Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? by Gaia Amman is a sci-fi, dystopian tale. Naira is the main character and she finds out she has some special abilities. The problem is she somehow ends up having to be a team with her enemy. Can this help her accomplish her goals of eliminating the President?
This is a fantastic read that kept me reading and wanting more. I like that Amman used her biology background to help with building the story. This helped keep it grounded and not get too far out. This grounding also allowed the characters and story to be familiar on a grand scale. There are similarities that are the very clear as you are reading to current day societal issues and figures in society. The characters are kept in the gray. This is true to real life because often we are presented with gray areas not black and white. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more in the future from this author.

Linked: Will Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? is a thought provoking and engrossing dystopian romance with a dramatic and suspenseful plot- which also has a pointedly political commentary woven into the storyline. It is cleverly crafted with complex and multidimensional characters, a fascinating plot, vivid world building, and many more impactful elements, such as the sci-fi components- which all combined to keep me fully engaged the whole way through. The thought that this story started as a dream the author had had one night, made this story all the more intriguing for me.
This is quite and original story and as everything begins to unfold, I started to realise that there was so mush more to the story, and characters, than had first appeared.
I am really taken with Ms. Amman’s incredible world building- creating a ‘new’ type of human with an intricately detailed history, names, and even a language. I found that to be quite genius and incredibly imaginative. It was so well written that it was very realistic and believable.
There were times the character/s frustrated me, but that was mostly because I had become invested in her/them and the outcome of the story. It was a little ‘dark’ at times, but this was well balanced with lighter, funny moments- and the romance.
I also feel this story would make a great movie or even a television mini-series.
Thank you, Ms. Amman!
This sci-fi romance read is my first read from Gaia B. Amman, and I’m so glad that I got to experience this read! I didn’t expect to enjoy this read as much as I did, I was captivated right from the start, it was engaging and a refreshing read. Politics isn’t something I normally read about, but everything else that happened in this read balanced it out and I found my self utterly drawn to this book, and its characters. It had many twists and turns, but the one thing I wanted more of was action, every time there was action it was over within a second and I wanted it to build but nonetheless, it was a vividly mentally visual read.
I loved the concept of each of these characters and their nicknames and the real meanings behind them.
I loved Naira’s character she is determined and confident and knows what she wants but she is made even better when Lethal comes into the picture. These two share something so powerful, special, intimate and intense, but boy oh boy is amazing to read! There are so many feelings in this book that are raw and emotional to the reader let alone the characters them self, I’m just so glad that in the end some understanding and love was brought between the two.
I loved everything about this book, and hope after that ending that this isn’t the last we see of these characters and their story.
I highly recommend this read!
Linked: Can Empathy Save the United Terrestrial Democracy? by Gaia B. Amman was an hooking, engaging, detailed driven read that me hooked from start to finish.
Not my first read from this author, so I knew going in I was in for something interesting, unique and well written. I was not disappointed. This book wasn’t like anything I have read before, and frankly I’m a little wordless in regards of what to write, to structured this review.
My head is all messy, and my heart a little crushed, yet full. This book was written in gray. There was no clear good or evil, making this sci-fi fantasy have an alarming realistic quality, it reflected how the world actually works, making is otherworldly read, relatable and connecting. The attention to detail was outstanding, and you can feel the passion that Gaia brings in mixing her bio background with her fresh original writing abilities. All of this is brought to life by well crafted multi layered characters, and an equally complex and engrossing plot.
This book is high quality and worth your time, energy, and money. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get lost and absorbed in this gem of a read.
Happy Reading

This is a sci-fi romance with a twist of politics story that was enjoyable. This book is a little different then my normal read. I found it to be creative and engaging. The characters are well thought out, interactive and real. They bring the story to life along with their superhero roles and their twists and turns kept me turning pages. They bring emotions of hate, love and even some understanding to a world of fantasy. What happens when you fall for the enemy? I recommend this book.
