Senior year.Three girls. Three guys.Hockey and rivalry.Mean girls and friendships.Old loves and new chances. One more year of being invisible. One more year to win it all.The countdown begins. Senior year can’t come or end fast enough for Amelia Campbell. For the shy, nerdy girl-next-door that she is, high school is torture and all she wants is for it to be over. Having her heart broken by a … over. Having her heart broken by a popular, womanizing boy all those years ago doesn’t help the matters. Nor does his best friend who still has a habit of mercilessly teasing her. Now, she only has one year left, one year to be invisible before she can move on with her life.
Derek King doesn’t do drama, but his life is all about drama once Maximillian Sanders steps foot into his town, his school, and into Amelia’s life. Max is always around, and he is making her smile again. But the boy who once broke her heart isn’t ready to let her go. Older and wiser, Derek isn’t about to let someone take away what he wants, and he wants Amelia.
She’s set on not believing in him and on not getting her heart broken once again. He is set on showing her wrong.
She says she hates him, but maybe the line between past and present, love and hate is thinner than she ever realized.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book about high school that made me addicted from chapter one. It was so real, heartbreaking story. I really enjoyed this well written enemies to lovers book.
Can’t wait to read about Amelia’s friends. All of them have secrets…
Lines by Anna B. Doe is the first book to the Greyford High series, a new YA sports romance with hockey being the sport in this case. First love, first heartbreak, friendships, and enemies, this was a super cute read with some intriguing characters and a fun storyline. I rarely dive back into the YA genre but the blurb grabbed my attention and I instantly knew I needed to read this book.
Years ago Amelia Campbell had a crush on Derek King but still being in that weird age of being teased for liking a girl, Derek went from being sweet to hurting her feelings which opened up to some horrible bullying from other classmates. Now it’s senior year of high school and still no one had forgotten that fateful day except now Derek is seeing Amelia in a whole new light. Of course Amelia isn’t going to just forgive and forget, smart girl that she is, but this time he is more determined and ready to get what he wants and not letting anyone stand in the way.
When these two come together it’s usually in a swoon worthy way after some sarcastic banter that is pretty funny considering how cocky Derek is and how oblivious Amelia is. Even with him being a big shot hockey player you could feel the nerves rolling off of Derek and it was sweet that an actual relationship was a new concept for both of them. I did find it a bit off that he didn’t make a move til after a new guy showed some interest, but I do believe it wasn’t intentional because guys aren’t always best at expressing their feelings, especially to the one they like.
Anna B. Doe quickly introduces a few other characters who have big roles in the story but at the same time are quite mysterious as to what’s going on with each of them. There’s this huge love/hate relationship between the whole group that I honestly couldn’t begin to guess where the storyline will go from here. Everyone seems to be hiding a secret and coping in different ways and I already feel a shift of more tough times to come. Lines was a great start to be introduced to Anna B. Doe’s writing and I look forward to more of this series and all that was left unsaid.
This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait for the next! This story will take you back to high school and to the time when your whole life revolved around your friends, parties and first love.
Lia is a quiet girl. She just wants to finish her senior year. Avoid all the drama and be invisible to the bully’s and go away to college. She’s got her quiet life and her bff. She likes things the way they are.
If only her plan worked. There’s some new kids at the school, Max and Jeanette. Max is outgoing, flirtatious and once he shows Lia some attention, the bully she’s been avoiding comes out in full force.
Derek has been the guy she’s hated since she was eight. She never forgot that day he hurt her. Now he makes it his life’s mission to torment her on the daily.
But love and hate…that’s a fine line. Derek has not always made the best choices when it came to Lia. Now it’s up to him to decide if he’s man enough to change and cross the line between love and hate.
This story had some teen angst, great friendships and a whole lot of chemistry. The characters were great and I know each one has their own story to tell. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
This is a new author to me, and my word, I will certainly be keeping an eye out for her work in the future. This is a YA sports romance, which is filled with drama, angst, emotion, heartbreak, friendship, chemistry, and is a sweet and refreshingly unique storyline, which reflects the thin line between love / hate. This is a well written flawless story, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend this talented author for all readers.
Lines by Anna B. Doe delivers just enough angst, sweetness and sexiness for a YA novel.
This book brings back feelings so many have had in school of bully-ish behavior. I was so proud of Lia for telling Derek his behavior was unacceptable and that he should want to be better for himself! Powerful words.
This was my first read by this author and I enjoyed it immensely. Definitely recommend.
I loved this one. Amelia (Lia) is a great character. I loved her. She like a typical high schooler. She’s a shy girl next door girl. She’s not in the cool crowd and get picked on by the popular. Derek is a popular guy. He and his friends have picked on Lia. He and Lia have this love hate relationship and Lia is determined not to fall for him. I wasn’t a huge Derek fan at first but I did warm up to him. He seems to mess up a lot when it comes to Lia. Max and Jeanette are the new kids in school. Max and Lia become friends very quickly which doesn’t sit well with Derek. I wasn’t sure about Max at times, I thought maybe he had an ulterior motive for being friends with Lia. I really loved this one and get wait to read from Greyford High.
I Gave This Book an Overall Rating Of 5 ’S

Lia, A shy, innocent, sweet high school senior who has a love hate relationship with Derek, one of the most popular boys in school. It all started back in grade school. Lia liked Derek, but Derek did not stand up for Lia when his friends start to bully her. That’s when it turns to hate in Lia’s eyes. But Derek did like Lia but was ashamed and little embarrassed to be seen with her. Years later, Lia meets and becomes friends with the “new kid” in town, Max and his sister Jeanette. When Max shows some interest in Lia, Derek’s finally acts on his hidden feelings for her. Lia can’t make sense of Derek’s new attitude towards her and does not trust her own growing feelings for him. Derek is trying to make up for his past actions. There really is a thin line between love and hate.
Will young love blossom.
Lines, is the first book in Anna B. Doe’s brand new Greyford High series and I have got to say that I really enjoyed it! This was a relatively fast paced enemies to lovers story full of drama and lots of laughs. Amelia Cam and Derek’s chemistry was evident right from the very beginning, but of course their different social circles kept them apart. No high school romance would be complete without a little bit of drama thrown in and let’s just say this story brings just the right amount!
I loved Amelia Campbell’s character right from the beginning, but it took me a moment to fall for Derek King because he wouldn’t man up and admit his feelings for her. I mean come on it was so freaking obvious. These two had a complicated relationship and they faced many obstacles along the way. Their romance captured my attention and I was entertained until the very end!
This story actually happened to be the first book I read from this author and I am really excited for the next one in this series! Can’t wait to see what happens next with this group.
It has been a while since I’ve read a YA romance but Lines made me remember why I love the genre so much. I experienced all the feels while reading this book; the good and bad.
Lines is a YA, sports romance. It’s also has one of my favorite tropes — enemies to lovers!!! I highly recommend it.
Anna B. Doe gets a win for LINES the first book in the Greyford High series. It’s the beginning of senior year at Greyford High. Amelia (Lia) Campbell cannot wait for the year to end and start fresh away at college. Greyford hockey star, Derek King has had a crush on Amelia since they were eight years old. You would never know it from the way he has treated her. Now a new kid, Maximillian Sanders, is interested in Lia. Derek is not going to let Amelia getaway.
I enjoyed LINES. The plot was interesting. Derek has liked Amelia but has not stopped his friends from bullying her. It made for a complicated situation. The story is an excellent example of the effects of peer pressure.
Anna B. Doe does a nice job with her character development. Everyone is very different and dimensional. I like Lia. She’s shy and doesn’t like attention. She grows through the story. It took me a while to like Derek. Being a Siberia Husky owner, Derek got bonus points for rescuing Ace. I appreciated how Derek and Lia got to know each other. I enjoyed the rivalry between Derek and Max. I’m curious to learn Andrew Hill’s story.
LINES was a great start to the Greyford High Series. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and to get a better look at the other characters. This is the first book that I have read by Anna B. Doe. I enjoyed her writing style. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
