I can’t say enough about this book. There’s something to be said about a romance that makes you want to fall in love either for the first time or all over again.
Lori Banzini is a strong woman. She’s starting a new career and is determined to be successful. Not a stranger to the world of rock stars she discovers a new talent, Cannon Davis. His smooth voice is as captivating as his looks. But, Lori doesn’t want to mix business with pleasure.
Cannon Davis is an up and coming rock star with a beautiful heart. Yes, he’s dreamy in all the ways that make women weak in the knees, but it’s his heart that I fell for; he’s young, confident, and loves his family. Lori captivates him. Not only is she his new agent, but he wants more from her and sets out to prove that along with their business relationship, they can have a personal one as well.
The push and pull between Lori and Cannon will keep you turning the pages. LINER NOTES by A.M. Madden is a five-star read. It’s the type of book that you will want to read again and again.
I have been along on the Devil’s Lair wild ride since book one in the amazing The Back-Up series. I’ve ridden the highs and lows, loved every minute, and am so happy to see Lori finally get her happily ever after.
Lori has been through the wringer personally and professionally. She’s getting a fresh start with becoming Cannon’s agent and she’s determined not to make the same mistakes again. But there’s just something about Cannon, something beyond his model good looks and sexy body. His voice, his words, his actions speak loudly to her. Lori and Cannon are delicious together—even though Lori tried really hard not to fall into Cannon’s arms or let him into her heart. But there was no stopping him—Cannon was on a mission to 1) win her heart and 2) become the next big rock star. Well, damn if he didn’t succeed at both!
I couldn’t read Liner Notes fast enough to see where Lori and Cannon ended up. I loved their romance—it was fun, snarky, sweet, sexy, swoony and just all around perfect. Catching up with old friends—Jack and Leila—was just the cherry on top of this perfect sundae treat.
Liner Notes, A Lair Novel by A.M. Madden is the story of Cannon Davis and Lori Banzini.
Lori is working to start fresh after some bad relationships and working towards a new career. This leads her to find a new talent Cannon, a young up and coming musician/signer. Of course they are immediately attracted to each other, but Lori feels she has learned her lesson in that dating field. Of course Cannon has other ideals and wants to prove what they can have.
Enjoyed their story.
Lori is determined not to let anything get in her way again, including love. Cannon is an upcoming rockstar, who knows what he wants. With Lori as his agent, desiring her makes things a little tricky. Can he sing his way into her heart, or will Lori be able to block those notes forever? This was a heart touching story as these two find what they really want. It is a slow burn, that is well worth the wait. I loved the chemistry between these two. I think it made the push and pull between them even hotter. I really loved Lori. I felt her character was the strong heroine, and I just found myself wanting her to get the guy. THis is one romance I could not put down.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel have that natural chemistry that brings out the strong bonds between Cannon and Lori easily. Tor has that deep voice that really brought Cannon to life. I love listening to Tor and Charley narrate a story. They always create a movie in my mind. Tor’s baritone voice captures my heart and Charley’s softer voice brings me into the story. I always get lost in their narration and forget about the outside world. This story is well worth the listen.
My heart is singing
I am bursting with joy. Liner Notes was everything I needed after reading Sold Out. There’s some angst, some drama, a ton of chemistry, and insecurities run amok.
Cannon is mature and one of a kind. His cool and relaxed personality make him a perfect fit for Lori. Make no mistake though, this country boy isn’t a push over. He is a rabid animal when you dangle his woman in front of other men.
Lori needed a happily ever after. She needed a man to love her. She found that and more in Cannon. I can’t wait until they start popping out mini Davises.
Words on page and a song in your heart…Liner Notes will make you sing on the inside and your sappy love induced smile will be the words you can’t express.
Liner Notes: A Lair Novel
By: A.M. Madden
Narrated by: Tor Thom, Charley Ongel
Series: Lair, Book 1
AM Madden knows how to find that piece of my heart to tug at! I love this spin off of the The Back-Up series as we get to know Cannon and Lori. Cannon is an up and coming rock star, and Lori is his agent. Lori is starting her life over, and determined not to make the same mistakes again. Cannon is handsome, talented and younger than her, and she will not fall for him. But Cannon has a different view. They are made for each other. Will he find a way to convince her to be with him? Will her career and her heart be at risk? What does it mean for Cannon’s career? This is a fantastic listen, the push-pull, slow burn romance is intoxicating and impossible to stop listening to. Madden even includes lyrics that melted my heart. I love the integration of our favorite members of Devil’s Lair and enjoyed checking in with them. Madden knows her rock and roll romances and I can’t wait to see what she has in store next.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel brings this one alive with their narration. I can’t get enough of their duet narrations. Their obvious real life chemistry pours into their characters and gives us a realistic romance. Thom becomes the alpha male Cannon is without giving him too much attitude, and Ongel adds her level headed voice to Lori. It’s a fantastic performance!

Such an amazing story that gives you all the feels!!! I absolutely loved the characters and how they come to life through the amazing writing of A.M Madden. She has proved herself to get better and better after each book. When you’re reading this book, it takes you back to the back up stories from before. I was blown away with this story. Give me a great alpha who has a sweet side to him, and you have this book right here. The roller coaster of emotions I felt when watching was happening was out of this world. It has everything you’ve ever wanted in a romance book that will leave you with a hangover.
In this book, you get the characters from before that are there to back up Cannon and Lori. The struggles they face make them stronger together. Lori is Given an opportunity to a lifetime and she takes it. They have the humor, support, and love that makes you long for this kind of relationship. Cannon gives Lori a hard time throughout the whole book and he loves seeing her riled up. It was humorous, as well as sweet and steamy all at the same time.
Great job AM Madden!!
Lord how I loved Cannon Davis!!! He was absolutely perfect for Lori and the way he went about proving it to her and fighting to prove to her that they could work was like a mini Jack and you all know I love me some Jack. Although Cannon had his own set Southern flare to his way he was still perfect. And my only complaint is I didn’t want it to end, but that’s not uncommon with A.M.’s books!! She can absolutely write the perfect combination every single time and it always be fresh and new and different. I highly recommend this book and all of her book’s and can’t wait for more!!! 5 stars isn’t enough for any of her book’s so let’s go to 100 for them. By Tina
I didn’t know how I would feel reading Lori’s story. I never really loved her character in the Back Up series. It always felt like she was drawn towards the wrong guys. But I was pleasantly surprised by her book. In the end I was really happy she was able to get the HEA that she definitely deserved. It was great to see her finally meet the perfect guy for her.
I need more! I loved this book! Cannon, Lori and their supporting characters are just wonderful. I could not wait to read how their love story was to develop. AM Madden you have another out of the ball park Rocker! Please write more on the whole Lair and Davis characters
Lori’s job was to get Cannon with LRV Media before he hit the big time. She wasn’t worried about Cannon, but whether she could make him what he should be, she learnt the hard way don’t mix business with pleasure, and her weakness was sexy, alpha, rock stars like Cannon.
Cannon knew he was in trouble when he saw Lori, he wasn’t sure what was drawing him to her, but it was instant. Although Lori seemed unaffected by him explaining about the label, he was too distracted, his dream could be coming true and all by the gorgeous redhead in front of him.
Talking with her Leila, Lori knows she can’t face more heartache, while her friend sees it could be worth the risk, you can work with someone and love them, it didn’t work the last two times but it could this time and she won’t know unless she tries. Lori denies she’s in love with him, but Leila says yet.
Cannon can’t get through to Lori and talking with his friend about how she’s fighting the attraction between them, and his friend tells him to fight back and fight harder and Cannon knows that’s what he has to do because he doesn’t see a life without Lori.
It is not often I get to read a novel that takes me completely away as this one had. Going through alot of medical stuff this was the perfect escape with the magic of the characters taking me to their world. Sometimes rules we impose on ourselves sometimes backfire. Lori and Cannon are the ones that take you there and show you what happens when chemistry over rules and something good develops. Watch out as soon as you turn the first page you will get carried like the notes on the fine song. It reaches across and burns us along with them. Go in and out through it all. Devour it all the way through to the end.
This was another AMAZING book by AM Madden. Loved Cannon and Loris story. And was so happy to revisit w Leila and Jack. Another 5 star read. I so look forward to her books and she never disappoints. This book had all the feels. I can’t wait to see what’s next
Liner Notes is an addictive page turner that will suck you in from the first page and keep you reading until you sigh in satisfaction at the end. Cannon, in true Madden fashion, is a swoon-worthy man that knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go get it. This book is easily in my top reads of 2019. 5 Fantastic Stars.
This book was great and full of the angst, humor, love and heartbreak of a Madden book. I love her talent and her way to spin a story! I sos truly
love her ability to include my favorite of her characters in these novels. I love the glimpses of past characters in her books.
I really like Lori and Cannon in this book. The chemistry from the first meeting was amazing. I enjoyed the interactions between them both. The anticipation was killing me! I will not ruin anyone’s chance to read this book with any giveaways about it.
Cannon is a great guy so very down to earth and not your typical rock star even when he makes it big thanks to Lori and his true talent. She is a great manager to him and her struggling to get past the things that happened to her in the past are huge parts of this book.
This novel made me like Lori a lot more than I did in the previous. I knew she was a good person but she always came off as such a hard a$@ that I couldn’t really figure out if I’d like her. Let me just say I loved her and her attitude all throughout the book.
This is a must read that you will not be able to put down! The taste of all the past characters gives all those longing for more Lairs a nice brush with the past and I love how it happens in a nice timeline with her other series.
I’ve been with Devil’s Lair since the very beginning, witnessing each member of the band find their better half even as they struggled both personally and professionally. And in Liner Notes, a spin-off of A.M. Madden’s exceedingly popular Back-Up series, Madden takes readers back into the world of musicians as Lori Banzini works to make Cannon Davis the next big rockstar, which is completely doable because he has the looks, the demeanor, and the musical abilities to make it big.
While Madden has definitely put Lori through the ringer, the Lori readers meet in Liner Notes is a woman who’s determined to live smarter, to not repeat the same bad habits as before, and as an agent for LRV Media, she needs to prove herself to the company as well as herself, and signing Connor Davis as her client is the first step in starting over and proving that she can be better than the woman she was before.
Cannon is absolutely an alpha male, but he’s not an asshole; in fact, he’s quite the opposite, which is why I adored him. He refuses to not dream big, both personally and professionally, and that shines through in the story in how he approaches his music and the passion he has for what he does as well as how he refuses to accept any and all reasons why he and his agent should be so much more. Winning Lori’s heart is just as important to Cannon as becoming a successful musician, and it’s his unending determination to have it all that drives him forward, that prompts him to tear down all of Lori’s walls and prove to her how good they could be as a couple.
What I liked best about how A.M. Madden crafted Lori and Cannon’s relationship is that she didn’t rush anything between them. Even though it’s clear that they are attracted to each other, Lori is all about not mixing business with pleasure, which means she fights tooth and nail to keep herself in check because she doesn’t want to make the same mistakes she has in the past. So while I would consider Liner Notes a bit of a slow burn, it needs to happen in the timeframe it does. There has to be a build-up, the back and forth, the push and pull. It wouldn’t be true to the woman Lori hopes to become if she gave into her desire for Cannon immediately, especially because she’s his agent, and first and foremost, her focus should be on his career, not on getting him into bed.
Liner Notes is another great story by A.M. Madden. She definitely knows how to write rocker romances, and I can’t wait for her next one!
4.5 Poison Apples
I received this book with the understanding that I would leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we learn what has happened to Lori Banzini and we get Cannon Davis’s story. Lori is trying to get over the mistakes in her past and has sworn off of bad boy rockers. She is now an agent for LRV Media (this is the same company that signed Devil’s Lair & Cliffhangers). She is being told by the head of the company to get in and sign Cannon Davis before anyone else does. Lori thinks this will be no problem get in get him ready to sign and get out, to bad life is there to show her otherwise. Cannon has met with other companies but there is something about Lori that makes him want to go with her. Oh it’s not just who she represents but her. But no matter how close he tries to get to the woman she has her walls and they are high. Will these two find that they just might have a HEA in their future or will the past keep them locked away forever?
This is another amazing hit by this author. We find that some of our favorite characters are back in this one, Jack and Leila. This story does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. Trust me I really want to tell you. However I don’t want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you unable to put it down after the first word and wanting to read it again when you are all done. You will enjoy it that much. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I absolutely love this book. Lori is a strong woman who represents a new upcoming sensation Cannon. She believes in him from the start his voice is captivating. Cannon is drawn immediately to Lori and her red hair and strength and wisdom makes him fall for her hard. But Lori has been hurt before and it’s not professional to mix business and pleasure. Can this work or go down in flames. I love the chemistry of Lori and Cannon but also to Jack Lair. I love how everything connects. This is a great series and must read.

Liner Notes is another fantastic story to come from the very talented A.M. Madden.
Lori Banzini is a good woman, hard worker, faithful and loving towards those she holds dear, Lori’s only fault is choosing the wrong guys to fall in love with, causing her hurt and with no desire to enter into a new relationship. Cannon Davis is a good guy, with extraordinary talent as a composer and singer, he’s also Lori’s new protege. Will Cannon with his good looks and sweet personality be the man Lori needs to show her how good a relationship could be.
Bad boys in books are very attractive and good to read about, but sometimes you just need a guy with a heart of gold who will fight until the end for what he wants and who he wants. I absolutely LOVED Cannon, he understood Lori and accepted her just the way she was while little by little helping her understand her worth. Lori definitely gives Cannon a run for his money when it comes to their personal relationship, but fought to give him all opportunities available when it came to his career.
Madden has written a beautiful story full of heartfelt moments and two people who were made for each other. I enjoyed immensely the cameos by previous characters of this great series. Liner Notes show us that sometimes the best things in life appear when we least expect them, and other things that we see as an obstacle are really just excuses we give ourselves due to fear.
This book is part of a series, while you don’t need to read the other books to understand this story, I recommend that you read the previous novels. I promise you won’t regret it!
What happens when you pair an up and coming Rockstar with a manager who has fallen for and lost two previous loves a lot like him? This slow burn romance was everything I hoped it would be!
Cannon and Lori are both dealing with issues (who isn’t) that have them battling themselves as much as their taboo attraction to one another. Trying to stay professional is all Lori wants to do, but the pull Cannon has on her proves too much any number of times no matter how they both fight it.
This was a really wonderful, well fleshed-out story about two people the reader can really relate to and their inevitable romance. I totally enjoyed following their journey to love! It’s not easy, but it’s worth it!
**This story is a standalone but part of a much larger Rockstar romance universe. I read it alone but will be going back for the rest!**
