You know things are bad on Earth when you’re the president’s daughter and becoming a concubine to an alien dragon shifter seems like your best option… making the relationship real.
Prince T’mar has no wish to consort with a human. Unfortunately, his father, the king, decrees he must accept her, his dragon mistakes her for their mate, and worse, the flame-haired female stirs his desires. Still, he intends to deposit her at the palace and fly away.
But when powers on Earth draw them into the line of fire, will their unexpected, unwanted burning attraction be the one thing that can save them?

T’mar is crown prince of Draco. This planet of shifters is in urgent need of a new world as theirs slides into a colder climate. They think they hae found a viable alternative in Elementa. The USA have also staked a claim to the planet. As we saw in book 1, they are not averse to political skulduggery to get what they want. The President will happily use his daughter as a pawn to get what he wants!
Helena can’t believe she caved into her father and allowed her friend, Rhianna, to have to pretend to be her. Sure she might be happy with K’ev now, but will she really forgive Helena? She needs to make things right one way or the other but as we now know, the President’s chief special advisor, Biggs, is a power hungry gloryhound and you just know he’s going to try and fix things in his favour!
Helena may just find herself in the Harem if T’mar has his way. Pity his inner beast is telling him she is their mate.
Lots of twists and turns and political plots and shenanigans. The passion burns as hot as dragon flame too! Looking forward to the next exciting episode!
This is book 2 in the Alien Dragon Shifters series and I would absolutely read the first book before reading this one or you may be confused as to some of the events that have already happened! In this one we get Helena’s story. We know what she did in the first book ended up being the only option she felt she had. But with her action’s, she placed herself in more danger than she was in to begin with. Now with the Dragon’s demanding that she become a concubine to another dragon prince, she feel’s that is the only option she has in order to help her people. Regardless of what her father and his advisor says to the contrary. She doesn’t believe that she could ever be attracted to a dragon and doesn’t plan on it being a real relationship. T’mar has no desire to take a human as a concubine. But when his father, the king, declares he will do it-well you don’t say no to the king. And when his dragon declares her to be his mate, he thinks his dragon is confused. He has already decided he will place her in the harem and forget about her. But he doesn’t expect that danger will still find them even on his homeworld, or for there to be more to her than it seems.
I absolutely loved this one!! Helena has the good of her people (and her friend’s) at heart when she tries to make decisions. And when she is backed into a corner, she does the best that she can with the resources she has. T’mar is a..well typical male LOL! He doesn’t believe he could truly be with a human and his dialogue with his dragon just completely cracked me up! His dragon definitely knows better than he does! There is humor, steam, and suspense and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it! We still have our main bad guy and I really want to know more about him-and why I think he is part dragon!! But I also really want a story for Helena’s friend! I would love to have one for a human man and his character was great throughout this book!
This is a great sci-fi romance.. I liked it a lot!! The characters are really wonderful, and it is fun to see them discover their adventure … The story is exciting, and the romance is sweet and steamy.

This talented author continuously surprises me by writing such wonderful Sci-Fi romances & I absolutely enjoyed reading this enthralling, Sci-Fi alien dragon shifter romance. There are character crossovers but this book can be read as a standalone but I would suggest reading this series in order to get the maximum enjoyment of the underlining story. The characters are well-developed and display realistic & believable emotional feelings in particular I liked the dialogue/disagreement between T’mar & his dragon side. The plot is intriguing & has good scenes descriptions & world-building.
There is: a young woman & daughter of the President (Helena) on the run decides to become the concubine/consort of a rather arrogant draconian prince (T’mar) but he wants nothing to do with her but his snarky dragon side has different plans in mind, a conniving presidential advisor (Jackson Briggs),T’mar’s father & King (K’rah Qatin), political issues, double agents, assassins, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, mystery, secrets, manipulations, devious plans, threats, danger, violence, attempted murder, treachery, betrayal, disagreements, misunderstandings, seduction, anguish, sadness, vulnerabilities, confrontations, love, happiness, some steam & a happy conclusion for this couple with a tantalizing ending that could be paving the way for the next greatly anticipated book. I would definitely recommend this Sci-Fi romance.
Line of Fyre is parts espionage thriller, intergalactic adventure and intriguing mystery, but at its heart the book is all romance. Dragon shifter T’mar, prince of distant planet Draco, is ordered by his father to take Helena, daughter of the U.S. president, as his concubine. While Helena is even more horrified by the idea than T’mar, T’mar’s inner dragon recognizes a pair bond when he scents one and he’s not about to let this human female go. A life-threatening act of vengeance and a friend’s betrayal force Helena and T’mar to accept the truth of who they are to each other. Cara Bristol has written an entertaining tale filled with clever world-building touches and an HEA. The book is the second in a series of three, but there’s no cliffhanger, just glimpses into the next entry.

RATING 4.5 STARS
Line of Fyre is book two in the Alien Dragon Shifters series by Cara Bristol. Even though each of these books come to an ending for the couple involved, there is an ongoing story throughout and in my opinion, the books would be best or most enjoyable if read in order. After reading both the prequel and the first book, I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting for Helena’s book and this was everything I hoped it would be!
Prince T’mar is the oldest of the royal siblings, the children of King K’rah of Draco. Draco is a planet of dragon shifters. Their planet is slowly cooling, making it imperative they find a new habitable planet, which they have found in Elementa. But the United States stole it right out from under them, which is making the relationship strained between the U.S. and Draco. King K’rah insisted the U.S. send the president’s daughter to serve as concubine to his eldest son to ease the relationship between the two planets.
Helena Marshfield hurt her best friend, Rhianna terribly when she tricked her into going to Draco the first time King K’rah asked for her to travel to Draco. Even though Rhianna got a happy ending when she mated to K’ev, she still needed to make things right. Would she ever forgive her? With the King demanding again that she come to Draco, she has no other choice. Her father has no idea what his chief special advisor, Jackson Biggs, is really doing. His evil quest for power is growing by the day and Helena is no longer safe. She has to get to Draco to make things right with Rhianna and also to try to mend things between the two planets.
T’mar has no intention of having anything to do with Helena. He will depost her in his harem and that will be the end of it, even though his inner dragon is insisting that Helena is his mate. It turns out he should have listened to his dragon because as soon as T’mar and Helena met, they both felt the pull to each other. But T’mar is determined to fight against everything his dragon is telling him. But when danger strikes and Helena is in trouble, his dragon doesn’t hesitate to take over to save his mate.
This book was filled with all sorts of goodness. Not only the growing relationship between T’mar and Helena, but also all sorts of twists and turns along the way. You’re never sure who to trust and who is the enemy. There are so many different parts to this and I simply can’t wait to see what comes next. I hope your fingers are busy typing all the words, Cara, because I’m going to be needing more very, very soon!
Helena does the unthinkable and goes to Elementa for the ship to Draco. She was to be a concubine to T’Mar the kings oldest son. His dragon knew she was his mate but T’Mar kept fighting. Upon Helena’s arrival so many twist and turns that kept you reading to the end. At the end T’Mar finally gave in and finally found his true mate. All in all they finally had Earth going to have all the people return to earth and made amends with her father for a visit in the near future.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
After the harrowing dragon alien adventure that she wittingly, but reluctantly put her friend on in Under Fyre, now it is time for Helena to have her own sizzling hot draconian story. This one sparked my anticipation and I tore through this one in nearly one sitting.
Line of Fyre is the second of the Alien Dragon Shifter stories that is tightly connected to the previous book carrying on the story with a new leading pair engulfed in dragon fyre.
Helena was pushed into a corner by her father’s presidential advisor, Biggs. It was either let her friend go in her place as a prince’s concubine or see Biggs have her assassinated. Now that Rhianna survived and mated with K’ev, Helena fears for her own life as she has become a big thorn in Bigg’s side as she opposes him. She puts her plans in motion to honor the Drakonian king’s demand for her to come for real as concubine to his oldest son, T’Mar. Helena is afraid, but she’d rather take her chances with a dragon at this point.
T’Mar can’t stand the humans who are attempting to colonize their people’s last chance at survival and have already shown themselves to be liars and acting treacherously toward Drakonians. He’ll take Helena as his concubine and drop her off in his harem so he can go about his business. If only his dragon side would stop shouting in his head that the human female is their mate.
The first book, Under Fyre, had the task of introducing the world of the series and the main players whereas Line of Fyre was able to jump right in with Helena’s side of the narrative and keep going forward at a ripping good pace with Helena, T’Mar, and even the villain Biggs and some others sharing the narration.
I love how this book entwines sci-fi alien dragons and their culture, political intrigue, and a spicy fated mates romance all together so well. The book is fast-paced and reads quickly and easily, but it has heart and depth as well as an intriguing series arc. I love the premise of the dragon priestess who orchestrates her moves like on a chest board even while a worthy villain, the human Biggs, opposes her. With each book more unfolds on both their sides and lends a good amount of tension to the plot.
In the last book, I thought Helena was a little shallow and self-interested until the twist revealed the truth. This book from her own perspective revealed even more about her good, generous heart who cares about others. T’Mar gave her lots of reasons to pitch a royal hissy and he did tick her off, but she stood up for herself with sense and dignity. I felt their relationship jumped from misunderstanding and hurt- the hurt on her side- to full on love rather quickly. I would have liked to see a couple more steps between, but, at the same time, there was the mating pull of the dragon side that made it seem a natural pulling together. When their fyre ignited, it was a sexy inferno.
The rise of the next couple in the background of this story, the great danger of the dragon world dying, and a cunning Biggs still plotting has me in high anticipation once again for more Alien Dragon Shifters. I was riveted to this story and oblivious to everything around me. Those who love sizzling hot fated mate sci-fi romances and/or dragons should definitely snatch this series up.
Multiple POVs which I enjoy. The dragons world is so well described. I can just see it in my mind. This was very entertaining. I loved our heroine and how she redeemed herself. The hero is all gruff and handsome. I love his snarky dragon. Great bad guy in Biggs. I love how he has a softer side and you want to empathize with him but really dislike him. These stories are getting better and better. I enjoyed seeing past characters integrated in the story so well. I’m usually so good at guessing plots but this one threw me. I’m so excited about O’ne and Henry. I really like the priestess. My only complaint is that, I just wish she didn’t use such a similar cover, like book 1
The Fyre inside
Oh my! What a fantastic read. I really enjoyed the struggle between good and evil, as well as the internal struggle of perception. Thank goodness those dragons have a mind of their own or the ending could have been completely different. The author really kept the story exciting with all the danger and action. And then she layered in the emotional connections and before long I found myself invested in the outcome of the story and the series. This was the first book I read in the series, so you can read it as a stand alone, but there were so many elements that I missed out on by not reading book one first. I’m off to do that before book three gets released. I can’t wait to see what happens with Henry and the priestess.
great read
Great read
This is the third and final book of the series. Henry a CIA agent comes to the planet to help a friend. He is attracted to a dragon priestess. She is attracted to him. But it can never. Can it? Great final book.
loved it so much I went back and bought the first one.
I have not read the first book of this series (I will be remedying that asap) but this book is easily followed without having read the first book.
There is plenty of humor, drama, action, mystery, and more in the book. The chemistry between the 2 main characters is hot, hot , hot and i loved the connection between the fyre, the dragon, and how it all ties together.
Well for a Romance it was pretty quick. Helena was pretty excepting of the whole mating thing and the mating was kind of impatient, which I guess was the point because T’mar almost lost Helena twice in one day but it could have been a little bit more romantic. The first time they “coupled” it had been quick and a little embarrassing (talk about some serious walk of shame). I guess the story just seemed a little to simple for my liking. I never read the first book but if I had, I probably wouldn’t have read this one… T’mar would say a phrase of endearment that was way to caveman for me and made me laugh because it just sounded retarded saying it in my head “my mate” instead of “my love” or something. Also in the beginning It was hard for me to understand a lot of words used to describe things outside the English context.
I can’t say I recommend this book but it wasn’t the worst so I give it 3 stars
Dragons in space, and an interplanetary spy thriller
The political gets really personal in this suspense-fueled spy/dragon/human thriller cum alien romance. Cara Bristol’s deft melding of the three-planet potential war, the insidious take-over from within of the U.S. presidency, the return of the missing dragon descendants, and the steamy fated mating of crown prince T’mar and Helena, daughter of the POTUS holds you to the edge of your seat. Poisonous atmospheres, poisoned minds, painful personal issues and public reckonings are topped with suspense and sex, and served up to the reader in a delicious Fyre-storm of a story. Grab it while it’s hot.
Love this series! The alien dragon shifter is super hot and his inner dragon must be satisfied! The heroine is fiesty, sassy, and witty. These are great as stand alone books, but for the best experience, read in order. There is a HEA ending in each of the books.
I enjoyed reading this whimsical story.
I loved this book. Finished it quickly.
