I loved this entire series. It has some brilliant lol moments while being a real observation into the world of ladies of a certain age. Well rounded characters that you can identify with.
I listened to the audio book.
A funny, cute story about a fifty year old recently divorced going back out into the dating world. I enjoyed listening to this story and hearing about Lizzie’s adventures from weird quirky neighbor, her best friend and her experience dating.
I absolutely love Lizzie and her funny life!
Audiobook version: 5 stars overall, 5 stars story, 5 stars narration
This is my new favorite rom-com audiobook ever! I will definitely re-listen to this one. It is a hilarious, British, slow-burn rom-com about a newly divorced lady starting over at age 50 and finding love. It could also be classified as funny women’s fiction, but it definitely has a happy ending. Plus, there is a lot of time spent in Scotland at a gorgeous manor house! The narrator was extraordinary; she enriched the humor with her perfect comic timing and excellent British accents. The narrator’s London accent for Lizzie is priceless.
I absolutely love the kind-hearted Lizzie, her hilarious life, her sense of humor, and her sexy love interest Ronan. Lizzie is a London woman who got married in her teens, so she has had basically no dating experience. Her stockbroker husband ran off with his gay lover two years ago, and Lizzie’s divorce is almost final. She’s been a little bitter, but she soon gets a new attitude and starts to really live again. Lizzie is such a nice, kind-hearted woman. Ronan is a handsome, 45-year old divorcee who owns and invests in businesses. Ronan is such a realistic man with a little emotional baggage, mixed signals, and some vulnerability. He is quite charming and romantic most of the time. With all this, he really reminds me of my husband, in a good way. The minor characters are very memorable as well, especially Maggie and Danny.
Please don’t let the unfortunate title turn you away from this amazing, uplifting rom-com. Every rom-com fan should read the description, listen to the sample, and see if you like it based on that. The title has weirdly negative words and doesn’t even refer to Lizzie or her love life; it refers to some elderly nudists she met in passing. I have never laughed so much at a rom-com! There is some swearing and wonderfully outrageous situations. It is mild to moderately steamy. The romance is so lovely, too. The book is written in Lizzie’s first person perspective.
I requested and received a free audiocode from the author via @AudioBookfly, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
LOL funny!
I’ve ready most of Tracie’s books, so when I spotted her bringing out a new genre I was excited to try it. Now, while I’m abnormal, not many rom-coms make me laugh. I usually read it, enjoy it or not, and listen to what everyone else has laughed at. However, this really did make me laugh. I mean, what Lizzie did and said throughout the book, I could picture her doing it. It was like she was a teenager at heart, because she never got the chance to move forward all those years ago. If you like a Rom-com then I recommend you pick this one up and give it ago. It’s unique. I’ve never read anything like it before, but I’m glad I did.
Loved this story!
Romantic, lighthearted and hysterical in places; I don’t think I’ll ever look at my wetsuit the same again.
Being the same age as Lizzie I can vouch for many parts being extreemly realistic and I loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to go straight into book 2.
I was in the mood for a humorous, light hearted book and with a title like that, how could I not read it!
There were moments of laugh out loud humour (Pat the Cat and where the title comes from are just two examples) but there was also an emotional heart warming story about two people with a lot of baggage coming to terms with the world of dating at the age of 50. I’m fast approaching that age and can totally sympathize with the fears, nerves and worries this would entail. I loved Lizzie, she was a kind, forgiving but no nonsense soul. Ronan blew hot and cold at times, but when you know his history you can hardly blame him. There were a host of fabulous characters, Lizzie’s best friend was a riot!! Everyone needs a Joe.
I loved how Tracie kept it real. Fifty year olds don’t have the perfect, pert, flexible bodies and she wasnt afraid to mention the embarrassing bodily functions we all suffer from. They’re also far from past it on the sexy times
Overall this book absolutely hit the mark and made me smile. Job done, thankyou Tracie Podger.
I have enjoyed every book I’ve read by Tracie Podger, her characters are well-developed and grab the reader by the heartstring from the first page. Usually Ms. Podger writes very serious mafia or romantic suspense books, but this book shows the brilliant comedic side of this author. This rom/com takes loving her characters to a whole new level. Being the age of the main character brought Lizzie’s trials and tribulations close to home. I’m not sure I have laughed out loud so much when reading a book. It probably should be labeled NSFW as I found out, laughing so hard I had tears down my face while running packets on the copy machine.
Poor Lizzie, if it weren’t bad enough her husband of thirty years ran off with someone else, that “woman” used to be a naval officer and is now a six foot drag queen. Talk about a blow to a woman’s ego. Her best friend introduces her to the very hot (and cold-depending on the circumstance) Scotsman, Ronan. His baggage rivals Lizzie’s and that puts a potential relationship in murky waters.
She offers (or is possibly railroaded) into helping Ronan with his late mother’s estate, not realizing what his mother’s artistic side allowed on the grounds and the state of disarray the place is in. Met by a lovely housekeeper, Maggie, and her husband, she is equally flabbergasted by the nudists/artists roaming the ground, thus the title of the book from her nickname for the couple Limp D*cks and Saggy T*ts, lol
This book has so many things going for it. A great personal storyline, with common threads mature women can identify with. Great characters, especially Lizzie, Ronan, and Danny, her neighbor. The characters are quirky, always real, and often funny. That is not to say there aren’t more serious emotions in the book—there are—but the funny episodes keep the book from being too heavy. At the heart this is Lizzie’s story, regaining her life and learning to be an independent woman after years of marriage that sheltered her.
I loved this book, I was worried that Lizzie was going to be left alone by the end, but thankfully Ms. Podger rectified that fear. Grab a copy of this book and a proper cup of tea and begin the journey with Lizzie, just be warned, Depends or Tenas may be needed for the trip
Limp Dick & Saggy Tits by Tracie Podger… a superbly funny RomCom.
The humour in this book is second to none. The characters both main and secondary, plot and humour have been an absolute pleasure to read. At times my guffaws could be heard far and wide!
This is my first read by Ms Podger, a book I stumbled across but most definitely not my last, if this book is anything to go by. I feel I’m in for a real treat! A extra well deserved 5 stars.
Starting life over at 50 with the help of some gorgeous guys: sweet!

What a fun story, whimsical and heartwarming, set in London and the gorgeous Scottish and Kent countrysides! I loved the setting and the characters, even weirdo taxidermist neighbor Danny! This story kept me hooked from start to finish, and I loved heroine Lizzie’s take on the world and her ability to make the hard choices necessary to move forward with life after her traumatic divorce.
So many great elements to this tale and really, this is not the place to rehash them all. You have to read the book to understand how, though it starts out with such a fun title, the weird and humorous incidents, including the naturist seniors for whom the book is named, are only a part of a more profound story about getting back into the thick of life after being sidelined as a perfect, hostess with the mostest, stay at home wife for over thirty years. Her friends are protective since the dating scene has morphed into a more dangerous place with predators and the threat of spiked drinks. When Lizzie connects with a seemingly perfect guy in her age bracket, little does she know that baggage from the past will threaten what she’s hoping to build. Enough! Read the book and you will join Lizzie on her journey, meeting some lovely, some mean, and some outright zany people along the way to a lovely, Christmas finale
This was my first time reading a work by this author and I definitely will be looking for more.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
