Just finished this book. Couldn’t put it down, it kept me guessing to the end.
Great series
As an introduction to her main characters, this was well written, and well paced. It gave you a sense of who they were and a lovely mystery with a lot of personal background involved in it. One of the things I love about the author is that at the end of her book she gives a great deal of historical notes, verifying where her information comes from that she has woven into the tale. For me, this is like the icing on the cake. It makes it all the sweeter.
I am addicted to reading. I constantly read all types of books. I have to say I enjoyed the author’s presentation of characters and storyline.
The first book of the Penny Green trilogy. Enjoyed all three. Wonderful history and a woman proudly working in a man’s world.
I love Penny Green! The historical information in the book is great.
Wonderful book! It’s one of my recent favorites.
Liked it enough to read the second of the series.
Light mystery. Enjoy this author and the characters.
A fascinating period mystery with great characters and a look at the somewhat shady theatrical life of the time.
Great period mystery.
This was an entertaining book, which I finished; but I never got extremely caught up in any of the characters.
Nice story
LOVE THIS SERIES!!!
A well written story of intrigue and surprise. Rich characters and an original story. It really captures the harsh realities of life and our “throwness” in life.
This was my introduction to the series. It provides interesting historical bits along the way. The characters are well-written and the author keeps you guessing and turning pages. Entertaining enough to recommend to those friends who don’t often read a book.
A good read
It details life and behavior in Victorian England, so it’s slower paced than our modern reads. There is plenty of intrigue and mystery.
Very good, a little slow to start
Penny Green is a woman before her time. She is a reporter ant a wife and mother. I’ve read multiple books in the series. They are mysteries without being thrillers
