I was a teenager when I read this but it really speaks to me. Partly because I was living in HK and wasn’t overly exposed to other cultures and world literature. I just love the originality and the twist and turn of the story.
Best metaphors I have ever read in a fiction book. And the story is so beautiful. When you read it you can feel the tastes and the smells. It’s amazing!
