Affectionately dubbed The Honeybee Sisters in their Wisconsin Amish community, the three Christner girls are devoted beekeepers who are coming-of-age—and discovering the sweet surprise of love… Shy, skittish Rose Christner is more comfortable tending to the beehives on the family farm and keeping her aunt’s unruly cats in line than attending social gatherings with the rest of the die … gatherings with the rest of the die youngie. A childhood trauma and secret shame keep her heart under lock and key, and Rose just can’t accept the sweet attention she’s receiving from a handsome neighbor. But the more she shies away from Josiah Yoder, the more their families sneakily plot to bring them together. And when a vandal who’s been plaguing the Honeybee Farm starts targeting Rose, Josiah’s steadfast protection—and patience—just may lead her into his waiting arms…

We don’t fully understand why Rose is so withdrawn and nervous to the degree she is around others besides her family until this third book, and it was quite revealing. Josiah is the perfect match for her- endlessly patient, gentle and kind as he waits for her to be ready for his love. It was so sweet how he slowly develops a friendship with her, but her metal blocks prevent her from moving past her trauma and feelings of crippling guilt. Her aunt provides wisdom as Josiah learns the difference between sheltering Rose and supporting her. The suspense grows as the farm vandals grow bolder, and the climax brought more surprises and a resolution I didn’t expect. This final book was more emotional and I loved the healing and empowerment Rose discovers within herself.

This series is well written and the characters are so well developed that you can see the book play out in your mind as you read it! I laughed, cried, smiled and almost felt every other emotion reading this series! Definitely recommend this book/series and this author!
I LOVED this book! I enjoyed the entire series and I’m sad to see it end. This book was a satisfying conclusion to the series with all of the storylines resolved.
I enjoyed Rose’s story and learning why she was so afraid of so many people and situations. Her character was inspiring in that she was always looking for the best in people and I loved seeing how that played out in various situations in the book.
The relationship between Rose and Josiah was very sweet. After reading what first drew Josiah to Rose, I understood why he’d been pining for her for years.
And Aunt Bitsy…she didn’t disappoint! I love her, her devotion to her nieces, and her complaining about her cats. I was laughing out loud about the last cat situation in the book.
This book could be read as a stand alone, but would be so much better if read after the first two books in the Honeybee Sisters series.
This was a sweet Amish romance and is book 3 in the Honeybee Sisters series. Despite the sweetness of this tale, real relatable issues are addressed and resolved. The emotions and challenges the characters face are universal and could easily be experienced anywhere. I was easily drawn into the emotions of the story which allowed me to be a part of the characters’ lives rather than a simple observer. This is always the hallmark of a good book for me. Expect to feel all the feels when you read this book – joy, sorrow, anxiety, love, and relief. Rose is the youngest of the Christner sisters. After the death of their parents, Rose and her sisters have been raised by their unconventional Aunt Bitsy. Bitsy and the family’s cats are part of the laughter and joy of the book. Rose is extremely timid and carries a overwhelming sense of guilt about her parents’ death as well as the fallout from a second childhood trauma. She is also overwhelming kind and sweet. As a result, Rose’s family is overly protective of her. Frequently shielding her when they should not. Josiah is one of the sister’s neighbors. He has been in love with Rose since the death of his mom four years earlier. Understanding Rose’s extreme shyness and anxiety, Josiah’s plan to woo Rose involves years of slow progress. Josiah continually encourages Rose to tell him what would make her happy but Rose’s fear and anxiety make it difficult for her to do so. There is an underlying mystery that runs through the book (and the series) of someone who is targeting Rose’s family with escalating vandalism and Rose appears to be the main target. These acts crank Rose’s fear up but also bring Rose and Josiah closer together. On the way to their HEA, Rose has to learn to face her fears and past traumas so that she and Josiah can learn to find balance and find their way to a loving, respectful, and faith based relationship. I enjoyed this series so much and am sorry that this book marks the end.
