`I bought the whole series.
Another interesting Syfi read that at times may be a little abstract.
So just what does a human clocker do? Or any alien clocker or otherwise?
A fair amount of action takes place during our clocker’s space travels. It wasn’t til I had read half the book that I started getting a grip on what a clocker does.
The characters were quite interesting.
I recommend you have a go at it.
Cheers

This first of a series was very well written. The descriptions of people and places tended to be a bit lengthy, especially in the first few chapters, but as the story progressed the author drew me into the story. I enjoyed the world building and the attention paid to story history, without giving a full narrative for every reference.
I also enjoyed the attention to actual writing, with few if any grammatical or story-flow issues. Obviously, the author and editor did a good job.
AWESOME STORYLINE! I highly recommend this book and this series.
Wish it was longer.
Space fantasy. It draws you in. I really want to get the rest of the series. I loved it.
Excellent science fiction!
This author knows how to write great sci-fi with engaging characters and the building of just maybe a strong team. The characters are adults but the author does NOT segue into chapters of gratuitous sex. I have already bought #2!
definitely different and an interesting read
A good read
Enjoyed the science fiction world building.
On board a space ship, Saree is trying to hide the fact that she is a clocker.
That is when things come to light that everyone in the ship has secrets of their own and they are all trying to hide something.
The captain of the spaceship really has a lot of powerful enemies after him.
How Saree and Ruhger, the Captain, work together to solve the problem was very well etched in the open space.
Though it is a science fiction, more focus was on Saree and her emotional turmoil and that was enjoyable too.
How, she learns to use her power of a Clocker has been well brought out. The elements of science fiction explaining about the folded space was also good to read.
Liked the story.
I absolutely loved this book! After reading the first two books, I’m pretty sure I’m hooked on the whole series! Saree, the Scholar, is being hunted; in order to escape the system quickly, she books passage with Lightwave. Saree has a dangerous secret but so does the crew of Lightwave – and there’s something off about most of the other passengers as well…
This book has lots of action, incredibly real characters, and a great plot. Five stars!
Let me first say Sci-fi is not my go to genre but I can appreciate a well-written book on any subject. Detailed world-building, interesting terminology, and well fleshed out characters made this an enjoyable adventure. If you are a sci-fi lover, this is def one for you.
After reading this book, I am fully looking forward to purchasing the next book in the series. I can’t wait to read along with the next steps of Saree and the good Captain’s adventures, along with Hal and the rest of the crew! And that chef…
All in all, the beginnings to a great, must read series. Five stars
It was well-written and exciting to read. Fantastic world-building. The detail was incredible and the mystery was intriguing! The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because I’m not a natural-born Sci-Fi lover, so I had to fight through some of the technology and terminology of the world, but Saree’s character, the mystery, and the background slow burn romance between Saree and Cary was enjoyable!
This book had a very well developed plot, wonderful characters, interesting story line. I look forward to reading more form this author.
Excruciatingly slow paced and feminist gender bending. Had to put it down when it got to condoning incest.
fun easy read
first book in a sci fi series – you’ve got to get it all in – characters have to be recognizably human- civilization has to have recognizable pressure points- plot developments have to have unintended features- no matter how evil your alien bugs are – we don’t live in a straightforward universe. for a paramilitary book with aliens that have nothing better to do than be alien, this is a recognizable universe. the odds are that as the series progresses, it becomes less and less recognizable, but there’s a chance it ends a spy who came in from the cold useless victory, with nothing but collateral damage. one can hope. i’ll have to wait for the rest of the series to talk about characters, but there are some.
I have enjoyed all of AM Scott’s books. Currently on number 5. Please keep writing.
