Until next time… Happy Reading!
I absolutely loved Lance and Kay’s story. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing read
Sometimes, parents know best, or they think they do! Lance is rich and gets to indulge his passion and work as a firefighter. He wanted to fight fires ever since he was 10 years old. Kat, beautiful, athletic, ambitious stuck in a job she hates working through depression after her parents’ deaths. She went through the grieving process and when she was ready, started paying attention to her surroundings and how she could stop and step forward to living the rest of her life. She opened herself up to doing what she formerly loved. In the process she opened the door to Lance. They found each other to be a little more than expected. Their courtship was like a kaleidoscope through their emotions and circumstances. Lance’s dad holds his inheritance as a carrot. Kat must make life changing decisions. Delicious! They are both absolutely likeable characters. Kat’s friends are a bit much while meaning well, I would put them on mute. One word, Calendar! Kqt is one of the better female leads I’ve read about in a long time. Great story. Fits in the series quite well. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
As a huge fan of terrifically written romance, I am no stranger to the impeccable work of Ms. Bella Winters. This particular Series, is one that I do follow, simply because each book is so well crafted. In her latest installment to The Forbidden Heat Series, we get to follow along as Lance and Kat get their hard won happily ever after.
Lance Dows, a firefighter, as well as the only son to a millionaire Father and he is certainly one extremely determined man, who lives his life on his own terms. Kat Sellers, was a college student that needed to suddenly drop out, after the sudden death of her parents. Kat has been putting her life back together slowly with the help and support of her best friend. Unbeknownst to each other, Lance and Kat’s lives are about to change, in the best way possible, after their sudden meeting. These two have heat and chemistry between them and leave sparks in their wake. Neither can imagine what is about to change. I promise you that you’ll be as enraptured as myself with this impressive release.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader’s copy of Light Up My Life in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything written by Ms. Winters.
I truly can not wait to see what she will think of next.
Will they strikeout or hit a home run
Light Up My Life is the fourth book in the Forbidden Heat series. This is the story of Lance and Kat. Their story is a bit predictable and I just could not get into this story as I would have liked. Maybe it was the fact that I would have had to suspend all belief for me as her background was just a bit much to understand. They come together after their respective baseball teams play each other and she is a pitcher for her team. She was the pitcher for her college women’s team so she has a bit of experience with striking out players and Lance is definitely a player. The sparks fly between them fly but they both carry much baggage that it will be hard work for them to figure out if they can have an actual relationship that is not doomed from the beginning.
I will mention that this book could use another round or to with a proofreader. There were a number of mistakes that just should have been caught and I had a hard time seeing past them after a while. So I had to take a star off for this.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
ONE EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER!!!
Sizzle with a side of heat! Bella hits pay dirt with this refreshing spin setting the stage for one action packed bombshell, propelling this bad boy to life spectacularly. She definitely delivers with this mesmerizing, stimulating, block busting, page flipping dynamo. There is nothing held back or cut short that feels it was in anyway rushed. A churning eddy of vexing circumstances and surprising nefarious events blast all the stormy emotions into play front and center. The trials and tribulations around sharp corners and sleek lines blasts this bad boy to staggering heights. The characters chemistry is sizzling, white hot and explosive. The characters personalities are authentic, genuine and realistic with such depth and qualities it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive it’s like being transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Bella, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
The passion that Lance, the rich fireman and Kat, the hair stylist/softball pitcher, cultivated was sweet. They both loved softball and brought out each other’s passions but tempered it with trying to be unselfish. There were several twists in the story, such as softball tryouts, a proposition from Lance’s father about his future, etc. This was a good read.
