A SEXY STANDALONE ROMANCEI don’t do relationships. I’ve lived my life hiding my scars, revealing myself only the in the scripts I write and the characters I voice. Few people know the real me. I’m too careful. Too afraid of getting burned all over again. Enter Beverly Martin. A movie star. A woman so beautiful and caring she makes my heart ache. She says she wants me—and her touch almost makes me … ache. She says she wants me—and her touch almost makes me believe that a girl like her could love a man like me.
But being with her would mean letting the spotlight of fame shine on me, too. And I’m not sure I can do that—even if walking away means losing the woman I love.
“With each novel featuring a favorite romance trope—beauty and the beast, billionaire bad boys, friends to lovers, second chance romance, secret baby, and more—this series hits the heart and soul of romance.” — New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips
Each book is a STANDALONE romance with an HEA and an overarching story about a group of friends and the local bar they love. Totally hot and utterly binge-worthy!

I’ve looking forward to Griffin’s story and to see how J Kenner was going to tell it. I wasn’t disappointed. Beverly Martin was the perfect person to bring Griffin into actually living his life instead of being on the sideline. She never gave up on him and didn’t waver in her feelings. Once he made up his mind, boy, did he ever! Another great read and dreading that there is only one more month to go.
Out of all the characters in this series, Griffin is the one I really wanted to see be happy. He’s been in almost all the books, if not all of them. We’ve gotten to know him more than the other MC’s before his story.
What we learn about Griffin is that he’s living his life under a hoodie to hide his burn scars. He’s a part of the group but on the edge of that group. His job has made him well known but never in the spotlight. In Light My Fire, we learn how he handles moving into that spotlight when he becomes interested in actress Beverly Martin.
Beverly first fell in love with Griffin’s writing. When she seeks him out to let him know she wants to be a part of his future project, she falls for the man. Working side by side with him on his screen play, she falls even more. She just needs to convince him that she doesn’t care about his scars and neither should he.
It’s good to see Griffin be happy. It was a very short story and pretty fast paced, but well done. Next up is Brent and Elana’s story.
We have met Griffin before in Wicked Grind, so when he showed up at The Fix I was beyond excited that he was getting his HEA! I really loved him with Beverly. Griffin doesn’t let many people in, and we got to see him really grow in this friends to lovers romance. I was hooked from the start and I loved how it ended.
I loved this book. Mr. November is Griffin Draper who was badly burned as a child. We briefly met him in Wicked Grind which featured his sister, Kelsey. Griffin has a wonderful friendship with a beautiful actress, Beverly Martin, who also happens to emcee the Man of the Month competition at The Fix on Sixth. Beverly wants more from their relationship, but Griffin cannot believe that anyone could love him because of his scars. How does a man who hides under hoodies and gloves deal with being in the global spotlight on the arm of one of the world’s most beautiful actresses, and can love really conquer all?
Another fabulous short story in the Man of the Month series. Light My Fire is Griffin and Beverly’s story. I was excited for this Griff’s story from the start and J. Kenner did not disappoint, I loved it.
Griffin has been one of my favorite characters in this series and I am so happy to see him get his HEA. He and Beverly were perfect for each other and their chemistry was intense. This is one of my favorite story in this series. As with the other books the epilogue sets us up for the next story in the series. I really enjoyed this novel and I would highly recommend it.
5 Revealing His Scars Brings Him Love Stars!!!
Griffin is a man that has life altering scars both internally and externally and I’ve been wanting his book for so long wondering who he would fall for because he’s the most deserving of love in his life of almost everyone in this group!
What he doesn’t expect is Beverly and all her stardom being that person. Because of his past, Griffin doesn’t trust that Beverly can love him for who he is inside and out. But, leave it to Ms. Kenner to write a story that allows him to open his heart to see the goodness that is inside this beautiful woman and that she doesn’t have ulterior motives…she wants to love a good man!
There’s only one more book in this series and I’m going to be sad to see it end…but I’m not crying yet, because we’ve got one more month of goodness heading our way!!
I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for Griff’s story since the very beginning of the series. I knew it would be a bit heart wrenching, and I was right. But I absolutely adored how Griff and Beverly’s relationship built slowly, first through their friendship and mutual respect for their business knowledge and creativity. They learned to trust each other, and actually fall in love–even when it seemed that they’d be left in the friendzone. I loved to see Griff finally accept himself, flaws and all. And I loved how Beverly never gave up in her pursuit to her own happiness and happily ever after.
Light My Fire is the next to last book in this fantastic Man of the Month series. I’m sad it’s quickly coming to an end, but I cannot wait for Brent and Elena’s story in Walk the Line.
Light My Fire is a great addition to the Man of the Month series. I have been waiting for Griffin’s story, and it will tug your heartstrings. Friends to lovers, Beverly and Griffin are sweet and have amazing chemistry. As with all of the stories in this series, you get a great mix of all of the characters you have come to love.
This story is well written, steamy, and low angst. It can be read as a standalone- but, as always, I recommend you read each story in this fun series.
Book #11 in the Man of the Month series is here and it’s Griffin and Beverly’s story, Light My Fire! I knew Griffin’s story would be a good one and I’m happy to say this did not disappoint!
As a child, Griffin was badly burnt which left him scared in more ways than one. He’s felt that no one would ever truly see him for who he really is, including all his friends. Griffin never thought Beverly would take a chance on him either. While working with Griffin, Beverly starts to see the man behind the scars and falls in love.
Griffin and Beverly had really amazing chemistry and I was happy to see him finally get the love and happiness he so truly deserved.
On to the last book!
We’ve waited what seems like a long time for Griffin’s story, maybe because he’s been so prevalent in the rest of the series and now it’s his turn to shine. Getting to know him bit by bit makes him seem more real somehow and I wanted him to be happy, really happy, the guy deserves more than most.
Griffin hides behind his hoodie, covering not just his scars but his feelings too and even though he’s part of the ‘Fix on Sixth’ group, he’s always been more of a background guy. Being a scriptwriter suits him. He can stay behind the camera and out of the spotlight.
But, when a young actress catches his eye he has to do more than hide.
Beverly Martin is intrigued by the man behind the writing she fell in love with, and decides to find him and ask to be a part of his newest project, never expecting to fall for the man too. But, Griffin doesn’t want to come out of the darkness that shields him.
Can he find the strength to face his insecurities to meet a new beginning head on?
“Bev was the kind of woman who went after the things she wanted. And lately, she’d come to realize that what – who- she wanted was Griffin.”
I have loved Griffin since Wicked Grind. And when I saw that he was in this series as well, I was so hoping he would get his happily ever after! This has to be my favorite book of this series, hands down!!
Griffin Blaize stays out of the spotlight for a reason. Severely scarred following being burned as a child, he’s content hiding behind his computer, his words, and his ever-present hoodie. As one by one, his friends find happiness with their soulmates, he can’t help but long for the same thing, knowing it will never happen. After all, who would love him with the way he looks anyway? Beverly? He’s wanted her since their first meeting but he’s keeping her at arm’s length to protect his heart from wanting something it can never have. But, now the safety of his privacy is threatened when his script is becoming a movie, with Beverly in the leading role. Long hours of script revisions put her so close to him, it’s pure torture. Should he act on his feelings? How will handle having to be in Beverly’s celebrity spotlight, when all this time he’s been able to hide away? Will he ever be able to be comfortable in his own skin and be the man she needs him to be, or is it just easier to walk away now? Which leaves a bigger scar – the burns, or losing her?
Beverly Martin read the script and knew she had to do it. She needed this part, and she needed to meet the man behind the words. Meeting Griffin changed her life. She knew he’d been scarred as a child but he never let anyone get close enough – never let anyone see. All she saw was the man – not the scars – and he was hot. Good looks, ripped bod, and a creative mind that blew her away. She knew she’d fall in love with him from their first meeting, but it’s been an uphill battle to get out of that friendship zone. She’ll fight for him – for them. But he has to meet her in the middle. She won’t settle for only half of him. She wants him all in, or not at all. Is her love for him enough to give him the courage to come out of hiding and stand beside her? Doesn’t he realize that losing him would scar her too.
My heart broke for Griffin, but when he finally gives in? Holy Hannah is that man fine! Hello, Mr. November! I’d highly recommend this series to everyone!
All I can say is Wow!! Griffin and Beverly’s story drew me in from page one! This book has it all, love, romance, comedy and EMOTION.
Griffin was burned as a young teenager, and those scar’s run deep. Beverly, a beautiful actress loves Griffin for who he is. The interaction between these characters is heart warming. Once I started this book I could not put it down!
A great book and a MUST read!
Final Score – 4.5 Stars!
This is the 11th Book in the Man of the Month series.
It’s finally here! Griffin and Beverly’s story and I just knew this one would be haunting as it is romantic. I’m happy to say this story did not disappoint.
Griffin and Beverly had crazy, sizzling hot chemistry. Both were in the “friend zone”, but with the tangible electricity emitting from both of them, you just knew the friend zone would go bye-bye. It’s rare to find a person who can overlook one’s flaws – to see past the damage done to one’s body and find the twin to their own soul lying beneath. I’m beyond thrilled that Beverly was that person for Griffin and that he finally got the love and happiness he so truly deserved.
Up next is Elena and Brent’s story … is this a case of the best saved for last? We shall soon find out!
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.J Kenner is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
Mr. November y’all!! And we finally get Griffin, his story, I knew was going to be a little harder to take because he kept himself so closed off in all the other books. He always seemed to be on the outside looking and so I knew there would be a story behind his pain. I love this book though… Beauty and the Beast meet modern day, Hollywood style. I love how Beverly went out of her way to make sure he knew he was accepted and loved.
Leading up to this book Bev and Griffin have been working together to make one of his screenplays a movie. He secretly wanted her from a distance and now working close has them both hiding feelings. He doesn’t think he’s good enough for him and she is scared to send him running.
When their realities crash they have to decide if love is enough.
I’ve been waiting for Griffin’s book ever since he appeared in the first book of the Wicked Trilogy. While this book can be read as a stand alone, if you haven’t read any of the other Man of the Month books, than this will come off as an insta-love story. Just like Book 10 this one takes place from the Mr. October to Mr. November “crowning” of Man of the month. If you have been reading the series than you know the ground work was already laid out for this couple. It’s amazing what you’ll over come for the woman that you love as proven by Griff. Also could Beverly be anymore perfect with truly seeing past his scars. Even though we’ve met Griff and know his history, I really wish his book would have been more novel than novella length. Also an additional issue I have is the character Matthew Holt (I think this character appears in other books) has the same first name and initials as Matthew Herrington from In Too Deep (Mr. October), it’s a little confusing.
I can’t believe we are nearly at the end of one of my favourite series Light My Fire is book 11 or Mr November in the Man of the Month Series and for me each book has been better than the last and this is one is no different I loved it.
Griffin Blaine avoids the spotlight because is badly scarred and in constant pain from a terrible accident when he was only 13 he is very self conscious and spends most of his time working from home as a voiceover actor and writing when he does venture out he is covered by his trusted hoodie.
Beverly Martin is a successful actress and once she read his script she knew she had to do it she also needed to meet the man behind the words and when she finally met him she only ever saw the man never his scars and she fell hook line and sinker for the hot guy with the ripped body. Finally it’s the turn of the woman who has had a hand in each of the previous romances through her job as emcee at The Fix Man of the Month contest to find her own true love but will Griff trust her enough to except she doesn’t see his scars she only sees the man she has fallen in love with.
I’m sad that we are coming to the end of this series because everyone of these characters have become a friend and I don’t want to say goodbye. This is a must read series for all lovers of romance.
Oh Griffin! Griffin is a talented writer and has found a career that lets him hide the scars on his body. But when he meets Beverly, a famous actress, he finds a longing he never expects but doesn’t see any way she would want him. Beverly was captivated by Griffin’s writing before she ever met him but then he stole her heart. Even as he tries to hide from her, she sees the beauty within. When a big opportunity happens for both of them, it pushes their relationship even closer but will Griffin be willing to let down his “hoodie” to truly let Beverly in? Truly a beautifully sexy romance that delivered a few surprises along the way. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
It’s finally Griffin’s turn! MotM #11 pairs our favorite podcaster and screenwriter Griffin with “The Fix” emcee, Beverly. We all know Griffin has issues with his scars and hides himself under hoodies. Beverly tries to kiss him and they quickly realize their attraction to one another. Can Griffin share the spotlight with Bev when reporters start digging into who he is? This was a good read! 4.5/5 stars.
For those of us who have read all of the Man of the Month books, I think we have all been anticipating Griffin’s story, and in my opinion, the author did not disappoint. Griffin survived severe burns when he was 13, which left him horribly scarred, in pain, and most of all, very self conscious of his self image as an adult. In comes Beverly Martin, a Hollywood starlet, who also just happens to be the emcee for the man of the month contests that are held at The Fix, and she has the hots for Griffin. I found the story to be emotional in parts, especially when dealing with the circumstances of his burns and insecurities, but it’s heart warming when he finally opens up to Beverly and let’s his feelings for her be known. Even though he hangs onto those insecurities, it takes a teenage girl who has burns over 30% of her body to make Griffin realize how much of life he is missing. Loved the premise of the story, loved the chemistry this couple had between them. Well worth the read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book
