All night long…Tycoon and secret supersoldier Noah Gallagher never expected to beat the Obsidian Group at their evil game—genetically altering runaway kids—but he did, with the help of the brave and beautiful Caro Bishop, the love of his life. The two of them survived that wild adventure, but only just. Noah is crazy for his new bride, knowing all the while that being with him puts her at … with him puts her at constant risk. Their love, their closeness, and the intense passion they share are shadowed by fear. Obsidian’s relentless hunt to recapture its rebels will never stop. Noah would die to save her—but now is not the time to tell her that.
Caro’s relaxing on their deluxe honeymoon in Italy, rediscovering treasures of Renaissance art, when they’re invited to the public unveiling of the latest secret sensation in the art world, the newly excavated Cross of Orazio. Caro is beyond thrilled. Noah is not. The guest list is packed with politicians, corporate moguls, celebrities, and entourages. Social media coverage will follow them everywhere.
Caro’s wild to go and Noah can’t deny her pleasure of any kind. They’ll stay off the red carpet. Admire the cross and leave for an erotic rendezvous he’s planned in advance, right down to the rose petals and silken cords. What could go wrong?
Everything. The fabled Cross of Orazio is more than it seems, and now he and Caro are right in the line of fire…

I always wondered… what happens when a story ends? Does the danger go away? Is it over for the main characters?
I mean, sure they will get involved somehow here and there later on but what about their life together?
And finally I get the answer in this book!
In this case, they have no choice, trouble will always find them. Caro and Noah are doomed to have life threatening situations, but good for us readers! We get more adventure!
I really enjoyed this book. It has all of the McKenna’s elements but in a bit less pages.
The thing is though, now that this book ended, as always, I need more!
The connection between Caro and Noah, the trust, the fight for each other and the support, it is all there and we can feel it.
Also, the thrill, the excitement, the fear, the suspense, it is all so well written and expressed that we live the moment along with the characters, even if we know they will be okay at the end, we can’t help but worry. Yes, it is true that Caro proved herself to be a badass but things were really shaky at some point.
A new character was introduced in this novella, Stefano Morelli… and he was too much involved… He knows a lot more than a non Obsidian person now and this could only mean one thing: He’s gonna have his own story! Right? Am I right?
Oh well, we’ll see… but I wouldn’t mind seeing him again… and again I guess we will, he is connected to Asa and now, to Caro and Noah… so if he’s not going to be the main character in one of the following books, I expect he’ll play a role when Asa’s turn comes. Oh I can’t wait!
Well Ms. Mckenna, the problem when you have such avid readers is simply patience!
P.S. I was wondering about Caro and Noah’s presence at the end of book 2, thanks for clarifying that!

I loved revisiting Noah and Caro from Right Through Me and recommend you read their story first before reading this novella. The happy couple is on a long overdue honeymoon trip and one thing about a Shannon McKenna book is that nothing ever goes smoothly for the happy couples! Noah and Caro are in Italy taking in the sites and Noah just can’t relax. He always feels as if there is trouble waiting around the next corner. This time he’s right! There’s a stolen artifact, evil criminals and they walk right into the mess. This is a great paranormal romantic suspense series and I recommend reading all the books.
Caro and Noah are on their honeymoon in Italy. Noah is a super enhanced former soldier that now owns a tech company. And Caro is the woman he loves. While there, Caro hears about an unveiling of a cross made five hundred years ago. It had been buried after an earthquake and untouched for centuries. They get invited to the unveiling, just see the cross and leave. But they get caught up in the middle of a dangerous situation. Can they make it out with their lives? Great short story with sex, action, and super humans. This is the continuing story from RIGHT THROUGH ME. * Received a copy from BookFunnel and voluntarily read and reviewed for the author *
This was one of the best Novellas that I have ever read. It was short, but not too short. It had all the steamy scenes you expect but also keeps you on your toes. I even cringed at one scene, it was so well written.
Noah and Caro are on their honeymoon, when they get an invitation of a lifetime. But what happens when everything seems too good to be true? It usually is. Catch up with these two as the fight to stay alive in the fast pace novella.
It was nice catching up on Caro and Noah. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
4.5 Thrilling Sexy Stars!
I was so excited to find out we were getting to revisit Noah and Caro, because I absolutely loved their first book, Right Through Me! They are on their honeymoon in Italy and all Noah wants to do is enjoy his new bride. But with Caro’s unique gifts, and her passion for art, she can’t pass up the chance to visit a rare art exhibit. Super soldier, Noah, can’t shut off his training either. He is always on high alert against anyone from the Obsidian Group finding them. When Noah and Caro unknowingly stumble into something just as dangerous as Obsidian, it takes all Noah’s training and Caro’s vision, to keep them alive. This quick installment to the Obsidian Files series is fast paced, thrilling, and very hot & sexy. I loved this amazing continuation to Noah and Caro’s story!

Romantic Suspense: Noah and Caro are enjoying a well-deserved honeymoon in Italy or, at least, Caro is. Noah is obsessed with danger everywhere and his recently minted wife is starting to get bored with that attitude. But the enhanced human knows how to keep her entertained while perfoming security processes. And guess what? There is danger ahead! The villain of the tale is planning something big to become the biggest fish on the pond… Will the happy couple be able to stop him before is too late or will their sexual needs get in the way of justice?
Frenzy: The second are thrid books of this saga were a bit weak in the action department. And by action I mean the fist fights, the bullet exchanges, the car chases or the the running for your life. The bedroom action was present in abundance. That’s why I have enjoyed this short book much more than the previous ones. The balance between both aspects of the genre is almost perfect. Besides, we have plenty of scenes from the point of view of the bad guy, which I always find refreshing. Too bad is not something we find often in the Romance genre.
This is the last book of The Obsidian Files that has been published. That was in 2018… After so many years, I won’t hold my breath waiting for the next one. Too bad, I would have liked to get a proper ending.
