What is it that they say? Life’s a witch and then you die. Change and I have never been best friends, something that’s only gotten clearer from my transfer to the Guild of Guardians. Aka punishment for stealing a magical object. Now I’ve got to hunt down criminal supernaturals to pay off my sentence. The men in my new team don’t want me around. Neither do the other inmates. They just want to push … inmates. They just want to push me to my limits, test me, thinking that I’ll fail. But they have another thing coming. I’ll pass everything they throw my way, and I’ll prove I’m worthy.
Life’s A Witch is book 1 in the Guild of Guardians series, a supernatural prison academy reverse harem with plenty of action, swoon-worthy men, and a heroine determined to end up on top.

Really enjoyably
This is a really good start to the series, and I really enjoyed learning about Astra.
I really like that Astra and her men dont have an instant connection, but builds as she learns more about them.
There are little plot twists through out the book which makes you just want to continue reading until you find the answers.
Im hoping Pascal and Raze will be more centre stage in the next book, but thats because they are my favourites so far.
Really enjoyable book and looking forward to book 2.
When this book was pitched to me I was excited right away, so when I was offered an ARC I was quite happy to start the book. However, when I started last Tuesday I had some trouble getting into the book and I guess that’s mainly because this series is part of a shared universe and I did get the feeling that our heroine played quite a huge rule in a different series and that I therefore missed some of her background and also some of the world building.
However, after a little break to read something else that grabbed me more, I started reading again and then I encountered my first chapter from one of guys. And that’s where I finally felt a click with the story and started to enjoy it. Because those guys are new to this series, which means that their background has to be explained from the start. It was therefore easier to connect with them and to understand where they were coming from.
And since we started seeing our heroine through the eyes of the guys, and they were starting to try to get to know her, I felt like we also learned a little more about her. Not as much as I would have liked, but still enough to get a feel for who she is and what her goals in life are. And the more I saw of her, the more I started to like her too. Just like the guys she’s far from perfect and comes with her own history, mistakes and failures. I can’t wait to see them learn and grow as a group into the wonderful people they can without a doubt be together.
I also can’t wait to see where the plot goes. I felt like in this book we got a taste of what was waiting for us. We got to see a little of the brutal outside world, we got to meet some of the monsters our heroes will be facing, we were shown pretty clearly how dangerous this world and their missions are and we were told that the true danger is still out there. I can’t wait to discover more of this world and to get closer and closer to the main villain of this story.
Although I still think you might enjoy this story more if you read the other books in this universe too, it totally can be read and enjoyed as a standalone series if you’re willing to pull through the first part of the book.
I think this has the potential to be a fantastic series. I enjoyed this first book. Astra seems to be a strong determined heroine and I can’t wait to see how things unfold in the next book.
I found this really interesting, not a lot of people write books with the main character having these types of disabilities. I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read more and see how things work out. This is a pretty torn and interesting group of individuals and they each have secrets from each other. It’s kind of a will they figure it out and be stronger or will they break a part and tear themselves down a long the way. I am excited to read more.
This is a new author for me. I enjoyed the sassy main character and the interesting world. Looking forward to seeing the world get expanded and the relationships evolve.
Love!!
This book has so much action you’re going to be on the edge of your seat saying and then what!! I love the characters, which I knew I would enjoy Astra just from her small part in another set, but wow! I cant wait until the next book!
I confess upfront that RH isn’t one of my favorite genres. I do read it, especially if it has an element of suspense or mystery, but since my time is more limited lately, I’ve gotten away from it. I went ahead and started this one as it seemed a good fit. At first, I was a little confused as it seemed I was reading the second book in a series. Soon, though, I settled in, and once I got to know the characters, it was much better. This is a hot, intense book with some interesting characters. If you like RH, definitely give this a try. This read closer to a YA RH novel to me for those who would like to know those things. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
This is a spin off novella from her guild of guardians series, you have recurring characters, in this fast paced, action packed story, with great chemistry with the characters, loved everything about this story,a great read and would recommend this book.
Life’s a Witch: Reverse Harem Paranormal Prison (Guild of Guardians Book 1) by Skyler Andra is an awesome story that I have had a privilege of reading. This is book number one in this awesome start to a brand new series written by a brand new author for me to read. I can not wait to read the rest of this awesome series that I am so hooked on. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about prison, reverse harem and paranormal romance in their stories.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
This RH book is a spin off from another series and for the first chapter you may feel a little lost as it references the other series, but you don’t need to have read it to follow the rest of the book.
Astra has been sent to prison and forced to join a team of bounty hunters in order to pay off her time served. They are struggling to work together after the death of a teammate.
I was a little confused over the timeline of this book, but ultimately gave up trying to work it out and it didn’t deter me from continuing with the story.
I enjoyed that the group didn’t actually get on at the beginning and they had to work at the relationship, it made a nice change from all jumping into a relationship together. They all had their own problems that they needed to work through, and Astra arriving seemed to be the catalyst to deal with them. I also liked that they didn’t necessarily win and succeed every time, but had to fight for their victories.
Astra is caught stealing for her friend Luna, is sent to Guardians. Astra has a hard time coming to terms with her sentence. Astra meets her new team and they are not very welcoming. She finds all her team members very attractive. She seems to form a bond with Tor, even with their ups and downs.
Astra learns that each member is hiding their pain and others by the way they act. Astra will also have to deal with another team bothering her. Things will get dicey for Astra and her teams mates.
This was a interesting introduction to the character. You will see Astra try to fit in the this existing team and the issues that they have. Astra is determined to show them she is a worthy team mate, while she finds them all attractive. Astra will also learn some secrets about her team mate and just what she can bring to the team
Good world building and character development keep this story afloat. Not super exciting, but action filled and potential for more steam and suspense in future books. I would like to see the team dynamic come together stronger in the beginning of book 2 or I will probably lose interest. It is after all a team she is after here.
An interesting story. Astra is an intriguing character and the guys are all different and when working together they all mesh well. The storyline fascinating. I’m definitely interested in continuing this series as it has captured my attention.
I really enjoyed this book! This is my first RH that is a “prison” RH and I found it very interesting. I had never read anything like it before and thought that it was super creative. I like Astra and the relationships that she is forming with the other characters that are making up her harem. They are all very different and complex characters. I can’t wait to read more of this series and will for sure check out the other series that this one is a spin-off of.
First I have to say I love that this story is different and includes autism, a condition alot of people have and to see Supernaturals have it is a good change and I loved the way you have written it!! Now this story was fast paced and awesome, you get to know what Astra’s story is and get to know her better. The hotties are dysfunctional as they’ve been through alot but still ar hott. I want to know more about Jaz cause I have some mixed feeling about him and I hope book 2 will give more into him!! Overall this was an amazing written story and I’m excited for book 2!!
Astra tries to help a friend and finds herself thrown into a supernatural prison, where she basically is forced to track down supernaturals to earn time off her sentence. She is placed on a team, who doesn’t really want her around. They have recently lost a member of their team, and don’t want another. Knoxe, Raze, Pascal, and Tor are each unique and interesting. I’m not sure I like Knoxe – he is a bit of a jerk, but I see some redeeming qualities. Raze is a bit of a mystery, and I can’t wait to learn more about him. Pascal and Tor are my favorites so far. I like that they are all flawed in some way, but they all just work together. This is the first story I have read by Andra, but it won’t be the last 🙂
This is the first book in the Guild of Guardians series. A well written supernatural prison academy reverse harem story with tons of action, hot and sexy men, and a kick ass heroine that will have you rooting for her! With a fast paced gripping exciting storyline that shows us Aspergers and autism is also present in the supernatural world and Some awesome characters. You will love this book and like me Eagerly await the next one!
omg ill never look at a snickers in the same way again hehe. I love the nod to her bff from Darkfire his book had me hooked from the very start I also liked that the girl had Asperger’s, and wasn’t perfect. I love Astra and her men and will reread this book soon
Oh how I enjoyed the beginning of this series. Skylar does an great job of creating this world, with these characters that totally hooked me.
I found the beginning just a tad slow, but once the story really kicked off it just was fast paced. I will admit that Astra had me totally crushing on her. So happy she is getting her own books. Tor, what can I say but he is a fave of mine. I enjoy a good hero who is funny, and pranks alot, but hides pain. A pain that I want to unravel for him and just wrap him in my arms.
Astra has alot to do in this series, but you know I totally think she is up for the job.
loved this book!! fabulously written!! cannot wait to read more!
