You’re The Life
Cleo’s a Pararescueman for the U.S. Air Force. When a PJ is called, it’s because everyone else has said no. It’s one of the most dangerous jobs in the entire military, but also one of the most rewarding. It’s the reason he doesn’t form relationships. He’s seen his teammates divorce one by one, and he doesn’t want to do that to a woman. Especially one that he’s supposed to … supposed to love. However, nowhere in his grand scheme did he plan for the force that was Rue.
To My
Rue’s life has been rough. What she needs is a break. One that’ll distract her from the fact that she’s drowning in responsibility. It comes in the form of a dark and dangerous biker who has a habit of putting his life on the line. He gives her the world, and she holds on with both hands, knowing that he only wants to be friends. Or does he?
Flight
Thinking she knows what’s best, she pushes him too far, causing his control to take flight, and Cleo to disappear before the dust settles. One night of passion turns into a year of heartbreak as Rue tries to find the ability to move on from Cleo. He was pretty clear with his wishes, and they didn’t include her.
Cleo’s not through with Rue, though. Not even a little bit. She’ll be his. All it’ll take is a little bit of…persuasion.

i found myself loving these tow characters together. and even when the world was working against them. you found yourself rooting for them. this one has some emotional parts, like all the previous books, but in this one i was on the edge. i couldn’t get enough which is why i finished this one in a matter of hours.
This is a story about second chances. Rue hadn’t had the easiest of life but she thought she had Cleo until she didn’t. Cleo knew he messed things up and a year later he is trying to win her back but when she won’t talk to him, he doesn’t know if he can fix things. This story brought me to tears but I loved it so much. All that this couple and this MC goes through was heartbreaking. I love how these two both still have so much love for each other but the biggest fight is yet to come. This series just gets better and better with every story.
I liked that Rue and Cleo were friends before anything else. When Cleo left her for a year, she wasn’t just losing her friend, she was losing her forever. And when he shows back up in her life, she doesn’t think she can let him back in. What if he hurts her again? What if he leaves?
I’m a huge sucker for second chance romances, especially when the hero realizes that he has a lot of work to do. Who doesn’t love a great grovel? And Cleo definitely knew how to put in the work necessary to earn Rue’s trust back.
I wasn’t a huge fan of how Rue handled everything. She could be rude and disrespectful and it wasn’t necessary. There were times when I wanted her to really hurt. Like when she would get jealous or possessive over Cleo, while pushing him away and treating him dirty, I wanted him to give her something to actually worry about. Alas, it wasn’t in the cards LOL!
Seriously, these two were extremely hot together. I mean attacking each other like wild animals hot. And I loved it!!
Another great story. Cleo and Rue’s relationship does not start off the best. Cleo is an idiot for leaving Rue. Rue is so sweet and kind but luckily he does pull his head out of his ass. As you dive deeper into their story you go on one interesting ride. I definitely laughed, cried and wanted to smack someone.
This one did make me ugly cry but it was still a great read and worth it.
Go read this book and the series you won’t be disappointed
Hot Hot Hot! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Cleo and Rue have been in love forever! They both make a move and it it everything! Then he leaves the next day and is gone for a year. Taking Rue’s heart and breaking it apart. Rue is not up for another go with him, and this man keeps putting himself in her path… all for another chance.
Once they are OK, their story turns dangerous, unwilling sacrifices are made and lives are changed forever. For two nurses that have a pretty dangerous profession, they both hold on hard for their forever.
The narration was perfection and you could feel the heat in their voices at certain times.
5 Stars
A beautifully well written second chance romance. Like all the others in this series there is the perfect amount of angst, suspense, humor, and heartfelt romance. Cleo and Rue are perfect for one another, they have some rocky moments but their amazing friendship and unconditional love takes them on a beautiful journey. I adored this story.
It doesn’t matter how many times I read Cleo and Rue’s story the tears will always fall. Even knowing what I know this story still breaks my heart. Life to my Flight is an action packed, suspense filled romance that will have you on the edge of your seat and your emotions running rampant. This is a second chance romance that will have you flying high and loving Cleo and Rue with such abandonment.
I’m really lovin Lani Lynn Vale’s books! Cleo and Rue’s story is an amazing read and again kept me captivated. I highly recommend reading this series. It’s best to read them in order. Must read series
This is book five in the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC. They don’t have to be read in order, but I recommend that you do, just so you have the back story on the other characters. This is Rue and Cleo’s story.
Rue and Cleo met at a cemetery. He was visiting his mom’s grave and Rue was there with her Nonnie, visiting her grandfather’s grave. Nonnie has alzheimers and thought Cleo was her husband. Cleo and Rue became best friends after that. But what happens when they both give into their feelings? And then one takes off for a year, with no communication at all? And what happens when that person shows back up, a year later, wanting a second chance?
Mikhail “Cleo” Caruso is a parajumper rescuer. He has seen the marriages of his unit members fall apart and end in divorce because of the job. He doesn’t want to do that to Rue. She says he is “jaded to love.” He is back now, and will stop at nothing to get her back.
Rue Loden is an ER nurse. She is finally starting to get her life back together after the night Cleo walked away. Now all of a sudden he’s back. It makes all the feelings of hurt, love, being mad at him come back. She wants to stay mad, but she really can’t. On top of this, threats are being made to her and they don’t know who is behind it.
“I’m the type of girl who’s always going to have her thighs touching. I don’t have any willpower when it comes to donuts. I don’t have willpower against carbonated beverages. And I certainly like bread too much. I like sitting on the couch watching re-runs of Dancing With The Stars and NCIS. I like sleeping in on my days off. I just wanted you to know what you were getting into. Y’ know, just in case you need to get out now while you can. So I don’t invest myself in this and you leave like you did last time. I can’t do it again. If you’re planning on leaving, I need you to leave now before I become too involved. Before I start to care too much.” ~Rue
“I don’t know where this is going to lead,” he said as he licked his lips. “I’m not a mind reader. I’m not a psychic. What I do know, though, is that I want you. You kept me alive when I needed you the most. I may not have had you there in body, but you were in my soul. You’re mine, and I’m yours. Let’s just leave it at that. No labels. I’d never hurt you on purpose. I swear.” ~Cleo
I really like both of these characters.
Just like in the previous books, I loved the little quotes, or sayings, at the beginning of every chapter.
“Treat your woman like a princess, and fuck her like a whore.”
There was a part that had my eyes leaking some. I won’t go into detail about it because I hate giving things away. I will say that it had to do with Tunnel’s daughter.
I can’t wait till the next book!
I really adored Rue. She was really sweet and quite the firecracker. Rue and Cleo were so perfect for each other. I just loved any time they were together. Even though Cleo clearly wants a relationship with Rue after leaving her brokenhearted, its clear that they were really great friends before. He knows her so well. The ending was really exciting. I can’t get enough of this authors books.
Cleo is a Pararescueman for the US Air Force and knows he is not going to make a commitment to a women, it only leads to hurt and divorce. The job is just too much for a woman to handle not knowing if he will ever come home again. While stateside he befriends Rue, she quickly becomes a best friend. One day though she makes a move which ends up with them in bed, but when she wakes up he has walked out of her life.
Now Cleo is back and he wants Rue in his life, by his side, and in his bed. Rue though doesn’t want to take another chance on Cleo, he broke her. Cleo though is bound and determined to win Rue’s heart again but when Rue becomes under threat, Cleo amps up his plan making sure she is protected.
This one had a few shockers in it. I love this series, one of the best. Each story is unique and you just can’t get enough. I understood why Cleo made his decision and thought the way he went about trying to earn Rue’s trust again. Rue is a fighter, she has an unbelievably hard job. Fantastic story
Love Cleo and Rue. Another big badass biker and his sassy woman. Lani knows how to make you feel like you are in her book world. Just like you are one of the characters.
