A picture-perfect small town holds a dark and dirty secret in this suspenseful mystery novel by USA Today bestselling author Jeana E. Mann. Stella Valentine has traveled the world as a free-lance photographer, but there is only one place she calls home. After a decade on the road, an unexpected inheritance brings her back to Corbett, Indiana, where her life took an ominous turn. The last person … an ominous turn.
The last person Stella expects to see in Corbett is Owen Henry. Convicted murder. Liar. Sexy as sin. He’s out on parole and part of the crew hired to renovate her house. Sparks fly between them from the minute he knocks on her door.
As Stella and Owen endure a reunion complicated by painful secrets and mistrust, it becomes obvious that one of them lied about what happened on the night of the murder. Their relationship heats up while they untangle the events that changed their futures forever.
Someone in their small town killed Owen’s brother. No one can be trusted. Not even the person she loves the most.

This is my first book by Jeana E. Mann and I really enjoyed it. I really liked her writing.
This was a second chance Romance about Owen Henry and Stella Valentine who were high school sweethearts that were separated when Owen went to prison.
This was a good book. Owen and Stella both had a rough childhood, and connected right away. I really liked the hero Owen. He had been through so much but still just wanted to protect Stella.
The first half of the book is told with Stella’s POV in the present and Owen’s POV telling the past.
This book is full of secrets, lies, and lots of drama. It’s a second chance you dont want to miss.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a second chance story full of drama

Stella and Owen were high school sweethearts. He had a football scholarship and she was just getting into photography. Stella’s sister Lanie was a sassy teenager who was seeing Owen’s brother Chris who was violent and abusive. One morning Chris was found murdered and it changed the lives of everyone. Now eighteen years later Stella is searching for the truth.
Great characters. The story line moved slow and tended to get wordy. I would have liked to see more resolution.

This is a well written second chance romance with strong, well developed characters and an intense story line. The author does a great job building the story and pulled me in with the suspense as well as the steamy romance, She takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride reading Stella and Owen’s story and had me glued to the pages from start to finish. I loved and highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Stella and Owen’s love story is a wonderful second chance romance… Through flashbacks, we get the beautiful glimpses and butterflies of first love, too. A twist of fate has brought these lovers back together years after Owen has been in prison for his brother’s murder. There is way more to this story than meets the eye, and this couple is going to have to fight tooth and nail to get through the lies to find the good stuff again.
Lies We Tell is such a great second chance romance that is full of suspense that will keep you guessing until the very end. I love discovering new to me authors. This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and I absolutely loved the writing, characters, and the whole story. I fell in love with Stella and Owen’s story and how that their love shows to what extent that each of them will go to for their strong love for each other. This is a really great read with lots of hotness, suspense, and emotions. Loved it from beginning to end!!
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
So, here’s the thing: Owen Henry gave up everything–everything–for his first love. That noble act cost not just him, but also Stella. I’m a sucker for a tear-jerker second-chance romance, and this one delivered.
3.5
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and I didn’t know what to expect when I started it. This story is just as this title suggests its about the Lies we Tell.
Stella and Owen were together when they were teenager’s but in her mind is he will leave because nothing ever lasts and everyone she loves always leaves anyway. After a tragedy everything changes forever.
Owen went to prison for the killing of his brother and served ten years. But it seems that there was something more.
Owen didn’t have a very good upbringing and has had to deal with alot in his life.
This story fast forwards 18 long years and Stella comes back into town to work on renovating the house her father left her. Owen just wants to leave the past where it belongs and move on the best he can. That is until he sees Stella back in town. The love these two souls once shared it seems has never gone away and when they see each other there is no denying the feelings they both have. But now they are forced to face the past.
( NO SPOILERS ).
These characters have alot of history between each other and this author writes them well. They both have alot of chemistry and iblove how protective he is of her too.
Stella and Owen have both individually been through so much and seeing how there journey comes together now after so long was what holds your attention.
This book is a second chance romance but is also full of secrets, twists and and alot of drama and suspense.
This book had a good story line my only thing was some parts of the book were quite predictable and I felt like you knew exactly what was going to happen, I felt like something was missing a tad. This author does write awesome.
Thank You to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

I could tell by chapter one that I was going to like this book. The writing drew me in and the story captured my attention. I was so invested in these characters. This book was beyond amazing. The chemistry and connection is palpable. Their chemistry is radiating off the pages. I can see the steam. Phew. I’ve never read this author before and I’m obsessed now. I loved the writing, the story line, and the characters. You have angst, romance, second chance, mystery, and sexiness involved all in one book. You can’t beat it. This book rated a perfect 5 for me. Second-chance romance haunted by secrets and lies
Stella is back in town after eighteen years, and runs into Owen, her high-school boyfriend who ended up serving ten years for killing his brother. Stella always suspected there was more to the story than what she was told, but everyone – including Owen – wants to keep the past buried where it belongs. Only Stella can’t envision a second chance with Owen until all the secrets are unearthed.
Owen and Stella have the kind of chemistry that makes it impossible for them to be around each other without acknowledging the simmering heat that drew them together in the beginning. As romances go, theirs was written in the stars and was as inevitable as the sun rising each day. I loved Owen’s determination to make their own rules as they write their second chance, and his selfless protection and dedication to Stella could make even a nun swoon.
One of the things I liked best was the rarely seen amicable relationship with Stella’s ex, and the hints about his future were quite satisfying. I was confused and pulled out of the story a couple times by a few continuity issues, but overall the story was gripping and passionate and kept me glued to my kindle.
Overall, it’s a terrific romance that was a long time coming and all the sweeter for the waiting. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This second chance romance was heartbreaking. Owen and Stella fell in love at such a young age. One lie changed their lives forever and Owen paid the price for trying to protect Stella. They hadn’t seen each other since they day he was arrested those years ago. I’m not surprised that when Owen showed up at her house that they couldn’t stay away from each other. I did expect more drama though. I thought that reporter would play more of a role of not only publicizing the connection between the two of them but maybe figuring out the truth about what happened with Chris. Overall I did enjoy this story. I didn’t want to stop reading because I wanted to know if my assumptions were right. If your wondering…they were. Good read!

Couldn’t Put It Down!
Enthralling from start to finish. This story was one heck of an intense edgy read that was filled with shocking twists and a whirlwind of excitement, sweet beautiful heartfelt emotions, lite humor, passionate tantalizing hot chemistry and an aweshucks sweet HEA. A fantastic read that flowed perfectly kept me enthralled and was a bit sad when it ended.
