Great read!
I had seen the movie, but it took reading it for me to understand the title.
I said, “Wait, what?” often while reading this book. Full of surprises.
Good novel. Enjoyed it.
This book is definitely worth reading. It is not predictable and the characters capture you. You find yourself hoping and “cheering” for the main characters and I expected a different outcome – but you should read it and come to your own conclusion. Great read and well written!
Holds the reader’s attention with the strong characters who you come to care about and rewards the reader with surprise revelations of their lives.
Excellent read
Great read. Well-written, engaging multi-generational family drama. Concise and to the point. Totally enjoyed this book!
Very good reading.
Not what I expected. Stylistically, this was an odd book. In the beginning I questioned whether it was a novel or a non-fiction memoir of sorts. I almost gave up, but ended up sticking with it and it was ok – hard to follow who’s/who.
Beget saw the end coming. Really enjoyed t2hus study
If you are interested in the last generations of Chicago and America, you should read this.
It was very different took me a little bit to figure out what was going on but once did really enjoyed book. I am looking forward to rest of the series.
I enjoyed this book , the characters and the way the story was laid out. Engaging! Original!
The tragedy of a mass murder was brought into greater focus by the relationships revealed only in the conclusion. Watch for the ending that You won’t see coming.
This was well written, but reminded me of a soap opera.
Great characters.Page turner.Loved it.
For some reason I had a hard time getting into this book, which is surprising because I like the characters and have read his other books, but I am glad I stuck with it…..as it turned out to be very good; just a little slow reading at times. But I do recommend it

Good read.
Written in a format that was a bit difficult to follow, not good or bad, just different. The characters were interesting and that’s what kept me reading, wouldn’t buy another.
