NOW A TOPP 100 BESTSELLER! I’m over men. I’m swearing them off. It’s taken me years to get away from the last one. He left me bruised and battered — in more ways than one. My dislike is as deep as my distrust. As I start my own business, I consider myself fortunate. The thing is, I’ve never been the lucky girl. What was supposed to be a one-time job, turns into nothing but trouble. And that’s … into nothing but trouble.
And that’s something I know a lot about.
Lachlan Daly makes me feel everything I swore I never would. One glance into those whiskey colored eyes and I’m lost. His on again, off again desire for me has my head spinning and my pulse pounding.
The minute I think I have it figured out, I find myself making decisions that we both will regret.
Ink and whiskey have a way of making the truth come out.

OMG!
Lachlan has long been a character I have wanted to get to know. WOW! The way this character was developed was so mind blowing that I didn’t stop reading until the end.
The girls were absolutely adorable and took the relationship between Lachlan and Maisyn to a new dimension.
Maisyn is badass and an amazing character, I loved how she was broken but not portrayed as a victim but a survivor who was able to get in with life.
The storyline was OOOOHHHH EEEEMMMMM GGGGGEEEEE. So strong! It wasn’t all smooth sailing, had a lot of steam, suspense and angst. It was a juicy story that I cannot recommend highly enough.
Maisyn and Lachlan meet via a mutual friend when he wants some new ink. One is his best friend and like a surrogate Dad to Maisyn sometimes. He warns Lachlan to stay away but the invisible pull toward Maisyn is strong. He knows she deserves someone who can give her all her dreams and she lets her self doubt convince her she isn’t good enough. Both are waging internal battles that if they win may bring the happiness they both want but if they lose could destroy them forever.
This is just my second Leaona Luxx book and I am so glad I found her work. She writes real and raw emotions. Love the support system Maisyn has with her friends and family. She has made some bad choices but they prove to her everyday that they love her no matter what. Lachlan is dealing with corporate drama that includes some family but he is basically a good guy. Just a bit over the top in his efforts to help. This is a great duet so far and can’t wait to jump into book 2.
Wow! I didn’t see that ending coming. This was my first listen by Leaona Luxx. What a great way to start. Loved Maisyn & Lachlan’s story. Maisyn is one tough chick! My kind of heroine. Already started book 2, Whiskey Rebellion. Excellent narration by Kelli Lindsay & Jarman Day. They were both new to me narrators & they totally delivered!
Lies in Ink and Whiskey
Redemption Highway, Book 7 (The Dalys, Book 1)
By: Leaona Luxx
Narrated by: Kelli Lindsay, Jarman Day
Maisyn is starting over. Leaving her husband and finding her new path is first and foremost on her mind. She is starting her own business, getting her kids settled and doesn’t have time for men. Then Lachlan Daly walks into her life. There is something about this man that intrigues her. Good looking, successful and unworthy, Lachlan has no intention of getting involved with her. Until he does. And now Leona Luxx has me completely invested in this couple. I am hooked. Maisyn is independent and I love her intentions. While slightly standoffish, I love the push pull between both Lach and Maisyn. Lachlan is in denial and it’s so refreshing as we watch him battle his feelings. And just when I think life is going to be amazing, Luxx throws the most incredible curve ball! It’s surprising and a cliffhanger, so I hope the next audiobook is going to come out soon! I need to know where this is going!
Casting is so important in audio, and it’s perfect! Kelli Lindsay is Maisyn and she brings out all the emotions she has. As she starts over, there is a variety of feelings, and then we add in Lach, and Lindsay grabs them all and lays them out for us. Jarman Day is fantastic! I love his voice as he struggles with his feelings. He truly brings out Lach’s heart. And his Scottish accent is amazing! They are both new to me, and it’s a pleasure to listen to them.

OMG … that ending ! Lachlan & Maisyn stopped my heart !!
I love this author so much .Each and every story she publishes brings me a beautiful written storyline. Another romance building before my eyes, involving two characters that are thought broken until they find the missing piece to make them whole again.
Lies in Ink and Whiskey was full of raw emotion , suspense , heartache, romance , intensity and some real funny moments . The sex scenes are to die for & oh so yummy .
Hold on though without giving a single spoiler in this review . You will get your mind Blown and heart broken at the end of this book …that cliffhanger ending is an inferno , but you’ll love the burn!!
Woohooo this book is addictive!!! I absolutely love Maisyn. She is such a wonderful character. Her strength is admirable, as is her heart. She deserves so much better and finally realized that. She’s so lucky to have such an amazing best friend, Flynn. He is hilarious, refreshing, fun, and truly cares about her and her well being. Their bond is so fun and beautiful. Maisyn finally finds a good man and boy do they have chemistry.
I am so loving Lachlan and Maisyn’s story. I am enjoying the fact that Lachlan is ten years older than Maisyn and she has two daughters, and they are not young without baggage. They both have issues that are making their relationship a bit of a struggle. I also loved meeting Flynn & Malcolm and seeing some of One and Lea again.
I loved Leoana’s books since the first page of Cherry Grove and this book is no different apart from she’s gone rogue on us with an epic cliffhanger. What are you doing to me woman, I’m pulling my hair out waiting in suspense.
Lachlan & Maisyn OMG their chemistry is nuclear. They’re both hot messes in one way or another. Lachlan loves hard, once he knows what he wants.
Maisyn guards her heart, thanks to her past.
But is all what it seems?
Is LOVE going to be enough?
Or is it just too late?
Bring on the whiskey chaser
Leaona Luxx has created another amazing story with characters that will send you on a wild, emotional ride! Wow, Lachlan and Maisyn are explosive! Their slow slow burn and spark is off the charts hot! I absolutely loved these two! Both flawed from life they fit each other perfectly! Lachlan is such a mystery. There are so many layers to still be discovered I’m almost scared! Maisyn is awesome! She has been through hell and back and still managed to fight hard for the life she has now. The ending was intense, Leaona threw quite the curve ball! I can not wait to see what happens between these two!!
Freaking A! This is the first book by Leaona that I have read. While you might have met some of the characters in her other books, reading them first was not necessary. This ended in one heck of a cliffy, I can’t wait for the conclusion!
Some women have no luck when it comes to choosing men and that has been Maisyn’s life up until now with her choice in boyfriends but her luck is changing…. Lachlan is a man who is learning that money does not buy happiness and needs to get out of his comfort zone to expect more and get what he deserves. As they have friends in common, it was a given that they would eventually meet and when they did….Oh Boy! What makes it even better is they go the friendship to lovers route but will their respective pasts hinder their chances to make something work? This is one story line that is filled with sugar and spice and everything nice that will have you salivating for the next book.
I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
I was provided an ARC of this book and this is my honest review……..
Leaona Luxx is a new to me author and she has a new fan!! Lachlan and Maisyn are interesting, well written characters, who have undeniable chemistry…….and secrets. When those secrets dribble out over time, will it destroy their relationship?? The secondary characters were just as interesting as the main characters, which at times could drag down the pace but overall the story moved quickly. You lost a star from me because I really hate cliffhangers and this was a big one. Book 2 can’t come out soon enough!!
Omg…this book gave me all the feels. It’s the first book from Leaona that I’ve read and definitely won’t be the last. It had me begging for more when it finished. I really didn’t want it to end. Maisyn is a tough and strong character and I loved her. It’s not all the time you get a tough female character. Don’t even get me started on Lachlan. I loved him. This book was definitely worth staying up all night to finish.
Maisyn and Lachlan were such strong willed characters. Maisyn has no trust in men due to bad past experiences. Lachlan is a sworn bachelor. These two have immediate chemistry but are reluctant to admit it. A thrilling ride through this story. A recommended read.
I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was slow easing into the story but once I was in, I was all in. A story that entertaining and captivating. My only problem is that it had a cliffhanger. Either I didn’t realize it had one before reading it or I wasn’t warned. Story told in a dual POV.
