I thought he was the one. I thought we were headed someplace great. I didn’t know anything. My mystery man is no longer such a mystery. He’s still commanding and headstrong, playing my body and mind like an instrument, but I’m finding there are layers to him I never could have dreamed. What I’ve learned since that fateful night in his apartment has me reeling. Now, though, the truth has taken a … taken a backstage to other, more pressing matters.
While I struggle to make a choice that will determine the direction of my future, lies that I thought had been carefully hidden away are coming to light. My head is such a mess I don’t know what’s up or down anymore. Will I be able to sort it all out, or will the life I’ve worked so hard to build come crashing down in a pile of secrets and lies?

Wow! Just wow! This trilogy is so good! I could hardly wait to read Lie to Me after being left speechless at the end of Dance for Me. This storyline will captivate you from start to end. It’s suspenseful and so freakin hot. OMG! Secrets have a way of coming out and once that do, let the games begin. What started out as one mystery man ended up being two. Rebel and Ransom are playing poor Josephine’s heart like a fiddle. She’s so dang confused and mixed up. Secrets, lies and trust. What’s a girl to do? Who will she choose? Ends with a cliffhanger leaving me on pins and needles waiting for the next book in the trilogy. Which I will most definitely be reading
Original Review: 3 stars. Hmm I didn’t like Joe nearly as much in this 2nd part. She lost the backbone I admired so much in the 1st part and seemed to morph into a pretty unlikable person. And Rebel, just yuck. Yes, he’s hot, but he’s a serious jerk. I’m not sure Joe should choose either of them, considering they both treat her terribly.
Updated Review: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars. Now that I’ve been given a chance to review this series as it’s been re-released with new covers, I thought I’d update my review. As I stated in my original review, I wasn’t as fond of Joe in Lie to You as I was of her in Dance for Me. But now that I’ve re-read the series, I can give her some more slack than I did originally. I still say her backbone crumbled a bit here, but I understand her a bit better now with a re-read. I still do not like how both men treated her, and want to junk punch them both. Now onto the next two, Fall for Him and Forbidden Valentine.
LIE TO YOU by J.C. Valentine is book Two in the Forbidden series. This continues the story of Josephine “Joe”, Rebel and Ransom. You really do have to read the previous book to completely understand this one.
This picks up with Jo finding out that she wasn’t just with Ransom but with his twin brother Rebel. Now she is dealing with what happened and the feelings she has. Ransom wants Joe but so does his brother Rebel.
This book counties their story but it also sets us up for the next installment to come.
In the last installment Josephine just had the proverbial rug pulled out from under when she realized things with her mystery man weren’t quite what she thought. She thought they were headed someplace serious, someplace that could lead to a future, and then there was a bomb dropped on their relationship and now she has no idea what the heck just happened or how to deal with it. Then if that isn’t enough to deal with, her best friends’ boyfriend decides to air some hidden secrets and stir up some drama that she doesn’t really need in her life right now, and now her and her bestie are on the outs… which means she has no one to vent to. Joe is stuck between a rock and to hard places and she has no idea which is the right way to go…
This second installment in the Forbidden series is just as addictive and mind twisting as the first, it is riddled with secrets, drama, and lots of steamy moments that will leave your tablet overheating and your toes curling!! Without giving too much of the story line away I will say that there is a love triangle in place and Josephine has found herself in a predicament that is nearly impossible to walk away from unscathed. There are bound to be some hurt feelings, broken hearts, and intense battles to be had here, and all I can say is be prepared to have your mind blown and your soul rattled! Ms. Valentine has completely outdone herself with this series, it is sure to go down as one of my all time favorite reads!! I highly recommend you get your hands on this series, it will blow your mind!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and voluntarily read and reviewed.
