Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it … she could just remember how it all happened.
One thing is certain, being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.

My first foray into Kylie, and I loved it. I wish I thought of this awesome premise for a book. It’s sweet, it’s funny, it’s smart and gentle. It also makes you WANT the rest of the band. Like…NOW!
Lick is a drunk Vegas wedding story that will have you rooting for it to take. David is the lead guitarist for Stage Dive. He’s been going at it since he was fourteen. He just wants a bit of normal. You can’t get more normal than Evelyn. She’s just trying to figure out how she lost control of her life. These two will keep you on the edge hoping that life will hand them their happily ever after.
Really liked this storyline. It keeps you enthralled till the very end. Would recommend
I love, love, love the series. Have re-read several times. Really good
Where has Kylie Scott been all my life and why did I not know about this book. When Evelyn Thomas decided to celebrate her twenty first birthday in Vegas and wakes up married to a man she can’t really remember. David the guitarist for the hottest rock band around decides that maybe this was not a good thing and they apply for annulment right away but a weekend together may change their mind until David’s past comes in the form of a vengeful ex that won’t let go. This book had so much. I thought David wasn’t all that emotional and too broody at the beginning of the story but as his story unfolds we find out why he is the way he and what he is willing to do for the woman he loves. Evelyn is a young woman yet to discover what her life holds for her but after she meets David she is changed in ways she doesn’t realize until later. Amazing story with great characters, loved Mal and I can’t wait for more of this series.
I enjoyed being able to learn more about each member of the band..
This was a fun and sweet book and I really enjoyed it.
I really liked the characters Evelyn and David. Evelyn is the young girl who tries to fit life in a plan who wakes up in Vegas married and doesn’t remember anything that happened the previous night. Instead of rushing into divorce, she decides to give David, the guitarist of hit rock band Stage Dive at chance at making their marriage work. I liked the fact that Ev didn’t make it her mission to not fall in love, but was willing to give David a chance. He obviously wanted the marriage to work, especially since he was the only one who remembered their wild night in Vegas. I liked that Ev kept a level head and said what was on her mind. David was also such a lovable character. Yes he had secrets and lies, but his feelings for Ev were obvious. I enjoyed every minute of them falling in love.
This was a great romance with plenty of sexy times. It wasn’t overly done, but perfect for what I was looking for. Can’t wait to read the next book.
Why it has taken me this long to become a Stage Dive groupie is beyond my knowledge BUT I’m part of the tour now and a huge fan instantly. What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there especially when it comes to Evelyn and David. I love how these characters are so down to earth and even though they’ve made it big in the music industry they don’t let it consume them. Well I’d say that especially goes for David and he shows how passionate he feels for Evelyn and doesn’t want to go back to his old ways. We’re given a great start in this rockstar romance series with book 1 and I for one and dying to hear Mal’s story next. That drummer had me cracking up throughout this book. Highly recommend you grab your copy if you haven’t already and bump it to the top of your TBR list. I’m grabbing from row tickets to this band as they’re on tour.
This book was absolutely incredible. I finished it in one day, since once I started it I couldn’t put it down. I loved everything about this book and the characters. Evelyn and David will capture your hearts. Mal kept things interesting; he’s a very lovable character and will make you laugh. “Child- bride” has never been a funny term until I read it in this book. I look forward to reading more about Evelyn, David and of course Mal.
Very enjoyable romance with unexpectedly entrancing beginning and everything springs from that. The main characters are from different worlds and very subtly help each other grow into accepting themselves and their interests rather than external influences being primary. Will reread in a year or so.
What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. At least that’s the case for Evelyn when she wakes up after one crazy night in Vegas married to the sexy rock star David. I like how this was written with Evelyn having no memory of that night but David does. It keeps the reading wondering what really happened that night and it makes them intrigued to continue. The idea that you could go to Vegas in celebration of something as simple as a birthday and wake up the next morning married to a sexy man who turned out to be one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most loved guitarists is a great idea for a story. The whole book was very engaging and kept my attention to the very end. Kylie Scott executed this story perfectly! I loved how Evelyn’s character was a very strong and independent woman who wasn’t looking for free handouts or to settle for less than she deserved. I enjoyed David’s character as well, it was nice to have a badass rock star who’s got a sweet and caring side at the same time. Even the secondary characters like Mal were well written into the story. I couldn’t put this one down!
This was my first book by Kylie Scott but it surely will not be the last. This one definitely deserves 5 stars!!!
Sugar and spice and all things nice
While I liked this story I didn’t love it . I had high hopes and loved the first quarter of the book ! I loved how it started and the mystery of their night of Vegas and I enjoyed their Insta love connection .
But once the drama started it started to be a bit more cliche and dragged on a bit …
Ev and David’s story happens over a very short amount of time . They get married during a night in Vegas , and she doesn’t remember it ! he takes her in to protect her from the press and tries to convince her their night wasn’t a mistake … but the also keeps her at arms length … about a month later they have been through a few dramas and have to decide if they are each others HEA .
To me the story didn’t have a nice flow , there were parts that I thought could have done with more depth and others that attempted to have too much . There were parts of the story that had some grammar and spelling issues which annoyed me given the price of the book for the length …
So yeah liked it didn’t love it .
Got the audio on Scribd and wow… Andi Arndt is a fantastic narrator.
This is an insta-love story and I usually hate those but I still gave it 5 stars because Andi won me over with her narration.
It goes a bit like this: David, talented Rockstar sick of his shallow life meets Evelyn, feisty, quirky girl next door in Vegas. They drink, have fun and end up married.
The book starts the next morning with Evelyn puking and without a single memory from last night’s events. She basically panics and runs back home. The newly acquired fame catches up with her so David flies her to his LA home to hide out until they can get the marriage annulled. In the space of a week, they fight, fall in love/lust, fight some more, have angry sex, make love, decide to stay together and then break up. A month goes buy and then David finally goes after Evelyn with all he has.
It was funny, charming, a bit angsty (but not over the top), romantic, sweet… I loved it!
Sexy and fun.
LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Kylie Scott is awesome! She is so funny but really great with the steam too. And writes wonderful stories. This is a great story and the series is wonderful. A MUST!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
This is one of my favorites and I currently just re-read it! Now I’m back to re-reading the entire series because I can’t get enough of the Stage Dive band!
Imagine waking up the day after your 21st birthday to find out you married a rockstar? I couldn’t even imagine! Loved Ev & David’s story. Awesome narration by Andi Arndt
I loved it
I have found a new to me author. Better yet, she has lots of books! I read Lies and loved it so I chose Lick next, the first in the Stage Dive series. Honestly I don’t as a rule like first person but Kylie Scott’s writing is so vivid and yes, funny at times I’m changing my mind about that. Anyway, I loved Lick. David and Ev were such a sweet couple. You wouldn’t really think a rock god could be so sweet but David is. And I like how Ev stood up to him when she needed to. I liked her too. On to the next Stage Dive book! I love it when I find a new to me author!
David and Evelyn
David Ferris is a hot, famous rockstar….He’s tired of being adored by fans and wants someone to love him for him…plus, he’s just a decent guy…When he wakes up in a Las Vegas hotel room with a wife who has no memory of who he is or how they got there, and she isn’t all that excited, he is really disappointed and tells her he will take care of the annulment….But, David decides he wants to keep his wife…
Evelyn Thomas spent her 21st birthday like a lot of kids…she went to Vegas with her friends….but when she wakes up in a hotel room, married to a total stranger, and she has no memory of it, Evelyn quickly leaves Las Vegas with every intention of a quick annulment and going on with her “life plan”….But, the whole “While you make plans, God laughs” thing comes into play here….and, well, you can stick a fork in that plan …
I loved David and Evelyn….He wasn’t the typical rockstar….He really wants “normal” Evelyn and works so hard to keep her….Evelyn is just trying to live her life and keeping her famous husband seems like a unreachable dream to her… but it’s a dream she wants…Of course, it can’t be easy…He’s a famous rockstar….and her parents are a piece of work…I loved this book..I’m gonna love the series…
