A master of international intrigue, New York Times bestselling author Taylor Stevens introduces a pair of wild cards into the global spy game—a brother and sister who were raised to deceive—and trained to kill . . . They live in the shadows, Jack and Jill, feuding twins who can never stop running. From earliest memory they’ve been taught to hide, to hunt, to survive. Their prowess is outdone … survive. Their prowess is outdone only by Clare, who has always been mentor first and mother second. She trained them in the art of espionage, tested their skills in weaponry, surveillance, and sabotage, and sharpened their minds with nerve-wracking psychological games. As they grew older they came to question her motives, her methods—and her sanity . . .
Now twenty-six years old, the twins are trying to lead normal lives. But when Clare’s off-the-grid safehouse explodes and she goes missing, they’re forced to believe the unthinkable: Their mother’s paranoid delusions have been real all along. To find her, they’ll need to set aside their differences; to survive, they’ll have to draw on every skill she’s trained them to use. A twisted trail leads from the CIA, to the KGB, to an underground network of global assassins where hunters become the hunted. Everyone, it seems, wants them dead—and, for one of the twins, it’s a threat that’s frighteningly familiar and dangerously close to home . . .
Filled with explosive action, suspense, and powerful human drama, Liars’ Paradox is world-class intrigue at its finest.

Stevens is a sensational writer.
I was sent an Advanced Reading Copy of Taylor Stevens’ LIARS PARADOX and literally could not put it down. I was thrilled to be able to send her publisher an endorsement, where I wrote: “LIARS PARADOX is hands-down the best thriller I’ve read this year. Original, cunning, smart, riveting and relentless; with complex characters, pitch-perfect pacing, and high tension from page one to the end that begs for a movie treatment. Taylor Stevens has catapulted herself to the top of my favorite authors, right up there with Lisa Gardner and Lee Child.”

This book was another stellar contribution from Taylor Stevens. As a fan of her previous series, I was excited to read Liars’ Paradox! I set aside a weekend to work on it, but finished it the first day as I couldn’t put it down!! I love the sibling interaction and the twists and turns throughout the story! Love Jack and Jill and I can’t wait for #2!
This book was action packed ! Taylor Stevens puts her heart & soul in every book she writes ! She is so talented & the characters in this book show that ! I highly recommend this book !
Okay…truth be told I balked when Taylor Steven’s new thriller wasn’t part of her exciting Munroe series. But loyalty and trust in an author won out. Liar’s Paradox is excellent brings all the action and great characters we have come to expect. Fans of Taylor will be left hoping she is already writing a sequel.
Taylor Stevens wraps her latest international thriller around a fascinating pair of feuding twin assassins and a dangerous spy who may or may not be the worst mother in history. Quick paced, high action, complex relationships: Taylor Stevens keeps her readers spellbound from the first word to the last.
I enjoyed the audiobook version, nicely narrated by Jennifer O’Donnell.
Liars’ Paradox by Taylor Stevens is a fast paced book that once involved I did not want to put this down! **spoiler alert**This is about a brother and sister (Jack and Jill, just one set of names they go by, twins) who have been raised from a very early age to be assassins by their mother (also an assassin ), their mother has sent for them and they heed the call but by the time they get to their mothers place it is to late and she has been taken….follow them on their hunt to find their mother before it is to late….
Absolutely loved this book, fast paced lots of action very unputdownable for me!!! Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC book in return for leaving my honest opinion!
Liars’ Paradox sends the reader on the adventure of a lifetime. I loved it!
Liar’s Paradox by Taylor Stevens
Jack and Jill Thrillers #1
Roller coaster ride in a book – This action-packed, intense, thriller with twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
Talk about dysfunctional families…Clare may have thought she was doing the best thing for her son and daughter by teaching and testing them for two decades but what she did may have left them scarred and unable to really function in society as we know it. That said, it would seem that assassins and spies are a breed apart and perhaps Jack and Jill may find a place within their ranks as this series continues.
This book is told in the present with snippets of the past interspersed to give depth to the characters and the story as it unfolds. The backstory helps to explain why Jack, Jill and their mother Clare are the people they have become. As I read I realized there was more going on than Clare being kidnapped and whether or not she would or should escape. There was a puppet master that thought himself invincible but was he really? There are a few supporting characters that I found intriguing and hope will show up in the next book. I wonder if Jill will find a romantic partner that understands her…and think there just might be. I wonder if Clare’s suppositions about the father of her twins will prove to be true or unfounded. I wonder how the future will unfold for Clare, Jack and Jill and also for Holden/Christopher as he also become a big part of this story. There is not a cliffhanger but there is a hook that left me wanting to see what will happen next.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a treat indeed. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
Excellent thriller author. Enjoy it.
I’m a big fan of Taylor Stevens but I struggled with this one. It had a promising start but dragged on in much of the middle pages with long pages of thoughts by the pursuer and the pursued. I was surprised at the ending when I felt it was hanging. Not a lot of action or twists as I was expecting. For a spy thriller it lacked action with some exceptions of course. I got bored and forced myself to finish it.
An excellent start to a new series by Taylor
Stevens.
Taylor Stevens is as good as any author in the Genre. Whether you call it thriller or mystery or anything else. I loved Robert Ludlum and his stories, BUT Taylor is a better writer! I can pchangeicture her agonizing over every word, paragraph and chapter. This was a change from the Vanessa Michael Munroe series; and she did it with great style and went very deep into the characters.
I didn’t know this author when I bought her book at a signing in Austin, but I wanted to see her speak. I bought the book and had it signed, but I didn’t have time to lug the hardback around, so I downloaded the Audible for my drive. It was worth listening to the author talk in person. She had an amazing past and story of how she came to write. The reader from the Audible recording nails the feel of the book, and I enjoyed how each chapter had a heading of who, what, where.
I like to read a lot of genres, but CIA, spy books are not what I usually buy. That being said, I love that I bought this book. It’s a whole new adventure for me. Action packed, likeable-flawed characters and a pulse that keeps the pages turning. There is never a dull moment and promises so much more to come. I applaud Taylor Stevens for her ability to keep the reader addicted with her cropped sentences that punch hard with emotional impact. I look forward to the next Jack and Jill adventure.
Interesting story.
it was a good read, the characters were unique, the flow smooth and easy. it took me a little while to get use to sentence structure. i assume it will have a follow up, if so i would definitely want to read it
boring
this book was written in stream of consciousness from 3 different characters. It was hard to follow. I gave up after several chapters.
I could not get into this book. It was weird and poorly written
It’s time for the world to meet Jack and Jill, brother-sister assassins who kick off one of the most exhilarating, entertaining, and emotionally complex thriller series in years. In Liars’ Paradox, Taylor Stevens delivers her kick-ass brand: writing that drips with delicious darkness, a feminist punch, and the kind of authentic action sequences that would make you think twice about meeting her in a dark alley. She is without a doubt one of the best action-thriller writers on the planet.
