He was my uncle’s friend, and I was too young for him. But in the heat of the moment, against the wall in a darkened hallway of an illicit club, none of those things mattered. It was just one night of giving in to what we both wanted. I never expected to see him two years later, sitting across me during a family dinner, encouraging me to do my internship for his business. On day one we both agree …
On day one we both agree that repeating that night would be a mistake. But it’s a mistake we can’t help but make again and again.
The rules are simple. We can’t tell my uncle. We have to be content with our hotel rendezvous. And we won’t fall in love.
But we both know we’re liars.

I fell in love with Olivia and Kent ever since I started reading about these characters in Fiona’s newsletters. I knew then I wanted more of these two and Liar is nothing short of amazing! Olivia met Kent at Voyuer when she was 19. Even though she not forgot him or that unbelievable night she did not expect to see him again at her parents house two years later. This book is HOTT with a capital H and you will be anticipating their next meet up. Olivia is a strong willed chic who is very vocal with what she wants. But what happens when what she wants wants to be up front with everyone and there can’t be anymore secrets? Kent is the handsome older gentleman who is content being single since he lives half the time out of a suitcase. Boy was he in for a shock when the one person he can’t get over happens to be the niece of his best friend. This book is all about taking chances and I love how Kent and Olivia’s story comes together. Another amazing read by Fiona Cole!!
LIAR is the third installment in Fiona Cole’s Voyeur series. This age gap “forbidden” romance commanded my full attention. The main characters had real sizzling chemistry that was believable and addictive! Olivia is Danial’s niece and Alexander “Kent” is Daniel’s best friend. Neither want to take the chance of Daniel finding out so they continue to meet in secret. I loved Kent’s character, strong, alpha playboy who was used to getting things his way until this young girl stole his heart and changed his life completely!! How long can they continue this secret affair and not get caught? Will they ever be able to show their true feelings in public? I found myself fully absorbed right from the start and loved every page. Fiona Cole is always my go to author when I want an intense steamy read and she always delivers!!!

Gorgeous, seriously hot read!
“He took everything. He took the air from my lungs, the moisture from my lips, the thoughts from my head.”
When Olivia goes looking for excitement at her uncle’s club, Voyeur, she doesn’t expect to meet a sexy older man – let alone the best friend of her uncle. However, once they get a taste of each other, all bets are off and they share an unforgettable night together. Two years later, she meets him again across her parents’ dinner table and also scores herself an internship at his hotel. She’s never forgotten Kent as he’s the best she’s ever had. And she means to have him, again.
“I wanted to mark her inside and out. I wanted to make her mine more than anything.”
Kent knew the risk when he accepted his best friend’s invitation to dinner at his brother’s house. He wasn’t prepared to see Olivia again. He’s never forgotten her and there’s no denying the frisson between them. She’s too young and also his best friend’s niece. It couldn’t possibly work between them, but that doesn’t stop the little minx from teasing him beyond his control, or the sharp spikes of jealousy when other guys look at her. Plus, he’s never been a man to deny himself anything.
“I wanted to demand he was mine always – that I was his.”
Good lord! This book! This was the hottest book I’ve read in a while – and that’s saying something! LOL. Aside from the sexiness, there were also so many feels! Angst, humour, tenderness. I’ve got to say that Olivia was an irrepressible tease and pursued the hell out of Kent. Poor guy – between his own sexual appetite and his compelling attraction to Olivia, there was no way he was going to be able to keep his distance. Their need for secrecy added a whole other level to the illicitness of their relationship. I was almost holding my breathe at some scenes wondering if they were going to get caught! LOL. I really loved Kent – he was actually such a wonderful guy and pretty patient with Olivia. She showed her age with her fears, her insecurities and her need for affirmation. At times, I just wanted to shake her! I loved Kent’s solid friendship with Daniel, her uncle. They were such bros!
This is my first read by this author and it won’t be my last. I must go back and read the rest of this series before the next one is released. Her writing is fabulous!
After a night of passion over a year ago, Olivia Witt thought she never again had to face the man who showed her what pleasure really meant. However, Alexander Kent’s connection to her family brought them together again towards a path they knew they shouldn’t take. The allure was too hard for them to resist and came with consequences that they might not be willing to accept.
Kent and Olivia might be significantly different in age but they fit together well. They came from a similar background, so they matched intellectually and socially. I liked her boldness and his maturity.
As usual, when it comes to sex scenes, the author managed to make it dirty yet sensual. The forbidden element certainly added to the hotness and intensity.
Liar is a story of pursuing passions in life and love. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a sexy age-gap romance.
Note: Though not required, I feel it’s essential for readers to read the short story prequel Watch With Me in order to fully understand the connection and relationships dynamic. It will help in adding impact to the story.
Holy hotness! Olivia and Kent are FIRE!!! Man they almost melted my kindle! And the building of the relationship when neither of them really noticed it was heading that way was epic! There was so much involved with this story. In this story, Fiona Cole showcases her ability to get you all hot and bothered one minute….. and then knock you over with emotions the next! You know the feelings are going to be there…. you just never know when they are going to show up. And the drama really isn’t even about the age gap as much as it is that he has been friends with her family since before she was born. That is what makes it all so complicated! Oh and wait until you see how it all works out! I was laughing and swooning all at the same time! When I tell you that you don’t want to miss this book…. I mean YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS BOOK! So do yourself a favor and go get it now…. the hotness is real, the love is inspiring, and the angst in not on a really high level (mild angst…. enough to feel like a punch in the stomach, but not enough to feel totally gutted!) Fiona Cole has not disappointed me yet, and I KNOW she won’t disappoint you either!
Liar, Liar. Pants on fire…
Or in this case panties on fire.
Fiona Cole has definitely made me question if I am a Voyeur. I know that if I were fabulously wealthy, I would at least have a membership. (Bites lip and imagines all the fun!)
Liar was a very nice, naughty surprise. It’s terrible to admit but I have 2 signed paperbacks and 3 ebooks of Ms. Cole’s work. I’ve met her. I adored talking to her and buying her books at a signing but this is the first time in 3 years since I met her that I have read one of her books. I know. Shame on me. (That’s actually the first book I ever got of hers. Its sitting about 10ft away from me while I type this.) I feel like the last kid invited to the party only to learn I got the invite and never opened it.
Liar is wickedly tempting, steamy, and makes even the reader downright needy. Kent is every fantasy even down to his honest need to come clean. I just want to wrap him up and lock him in my basement! (What!?! I don’t have a Voyeur membership. I will need to improvise!)
If you don’t like naughty fun…
If you have an aversion to steamy chemistry…
If you are afraid of embracing your fantasies.
Perhaps you should hit up the mystery section at the library because this book will only make you crave more. MORE touching. MORE claiming. MORE and MORE. It will have you looking for forever.

Liar is a sizzling hot superstar story. Kent and Olivia’s relationship is based on carnal want and need, but it turns into so much more for them both.
Although their paths should have crossed years earlier, fate had them miss one another until just the right time. Kent being older, was friends with both her parents and Uncle, but Olivia was never around to meet him. After their encounter at Voyeur they thought it was a one night stand. But fate stepped in again and gave us one super sizzling read. Another winner in the Voyeur world!
This certainly started my year off with a bang! (Heh, see what I did there 😉 ) I’m a sucker for the brother’s/sister’s best friend trope and this was pretty darn close. There was fire from the very beginning and made this book very hard to put down. Another hot in the Voyeur series.
4 and 1/2 stars
Holy hotness Batman! This story was smoking! Olivia and Kent are explosive. He is experienced and oh so kinky. Olivia is feisty and isn’t afraid to go for what she wants. However, the two of them have to keep their relations behind closed doors. It’s interesting when one party suggests that they tell Daniel about their relationship. I expected it to be x but in fact it was y who made the suggestion (notice I didn’t say who 😉 I’m crafty like that!) I was kind of annoyed at x because why wouldn’t they want to bring the relationship out in the open especially when they were the one who pushed for more. Maybe it had to do with their insecurities and their age but I feel like that is a cope out. I can understand that they were afraid that they wouldn’t have someone in their corner but if they took such a risk, shouldn’t they have thought about the consequences prior to the start of their steamy affair? And then what they feared most happens and the truth came out in an unexpected fashion!
I did love reading this story and having the characters of previous Fiona Cole stories overlap is fun to see. I would have liked a bit more drama/angst and some more interactions between Kent and Olivia’s families. That would have been interesting! I’m going to miss this universe and the characters in it but luckily we get to see some more characters soon!
*fanning self* Wow Liar is a super steamy, age gap romance….. with a storyline!!!
Kent and Olivia had met 2 years previously. Unknowingly, they have a close connection. Her uncle, his business partner. Imagine their surprise at the family dinner table. Pushed by well meaning family, Olivia ends up interning at his soon to open hotel. Fiona Cole really has this great ability a weaving this angsty story between two people unsure of how to navigate the feelings they have for each other. She didn’t make it easy, they had to fight for their HEA.
Once again Fiona Cole captivatingly lured me into Kent and Olivia’s forbidden love story with banter, chemistry and an age gap enticement!
This draw and intensity between these characters was evident and intriguing. Kent tried to rein in his feelings for Olivia given their previous encounter two years before. Olivia was persistent and feisty on her approach to entice Kent.
I liked Kent and could understand how he tried, for the sake of his friendship with Olivia’s Uncle Daniel, to keep Olivia at a distance. But his resistance wavered and I was captivated to see where it all would lead.
Olivia baffled me with her change in behavior by 3/4 of the story regarding her thoughts about what her uncle thought of her and her relationship with Kent. I’m glad she found her self worth and realized what she had with Kent.
This book is blistering hot, powerfully emotional and sinfully forbidden. I loved Kent and Olivia. This couple snuck my heart while also stealing my breath. A complex and deeply engaging story line offers a intoxicating blend of intensity, drama, sizzling chemistry, scorching heat and swoony moments. All I can say is that this one is a definite do not miss read!!!!
Fiona Cole goes and does it again.. she’s so amazing writing these fantastically forbidden romance stories. I fell in love with Olivia and Kent ever since I started reading about these characters in Fiona’s newsletters. I knew I wanted more of these two and Liar is nothing short of amazing! Together, Kent and Olivia are erotic, passionate and have a chemistry that is undeniable. The forbidden part of their romance just makes their secret trysts that much more titillating.
Fiona Cole sure knows how to write a hot, emotional, forbidden love story, and this one does not disappoint! I loved everything about this book: uncle’s best friend, the age gap, the secret relationship, the love and connection that Olivia and Kent have for each other.
Kent and Olivia’s story was one that intrigued me at all levels. It kept me on this edge the entire time wanting more and more and and Fiona Cole delivered! Their journey to their HEA was hot, sexy, and left absolutely nothing to the imagination. A bit of angst, just enough laughs, a whole lot of sexy, and a feel-good love story.
Oh wow! Liar is a scorching hot, forbidden romance! Kent & Olivia are so delicious together. Kent is my favorite kind of hero – protective, confident, and so sexy he’ll set your Kindle on fire. Do NOT miss this story!
As usual, Fiona Cole does not turn down the heat in this latest book in the Voyeur series. Kent and Olivia are erotic, passionate and have a chemistry that is beyond undeniable. The forbidden part of their romance just makes their secret trysts that much more titillating. With Olivia sleeping with her beloved Uncle Daniel’s business partner and best friend, things are bound to get a bit sticky and I don’t just mean between the sheets. I waited with bated breath for that inevitable shoe to drop when Daniel would discover Kent’s secret and my stomach was in knots knowing it was just a matter of time for it to occur. In the meantime, Kent and Olivia fall deeper for the other and there are just enough tender moments when their pillow talk is heartfelt and sweet that it balances out all the naughty these two enjoy.
This series is just what I need in between the more ‘nicer’ of reads and I love how everything is coming full circle for these well-written characters. Daniel’s story is next and that man is full of mystery and power so I will definitely be wanting that book and soon.
I will say that you’ll want to see just how Olivia and Kent met with their explosive first night in the prequel novella, Watch With Me, now available as well.
Liar is clearly the book for when you need a bit of spicy in your life, deserving of 4 steamy stars!
Hot damn!! Fiona definitely outdid herself with this new sexy and forbidden romance.
To be honest, I’m not really a fan of books with a huge age difference or daddy complex, but believe me when I say Liar just stole my heart. This story is so freaking amazing! It’s raw, emotional, passionate, sexy, forbidden and even so much more! The whole age difference didn’t even bother me (although I normally don’t like it). This whole book was just extraordinary; unique and exhilarating. A real masterpiece and definitely one of Fiona’s best works yet.
“My intentions were innocent when I stepped through the door, but if he were to ask, I’d do whatever he wanted; right here with my parents only a room over.”
Gawd was this book hot and sexy! Olivia and Kent had the pages going up in flames.
I can only say this book is just beyond words! Just read it!
Liar is here, all in one place. It was great to read this story in the newsletter but to have to wait for the chapters to be released was hard. Alexander and Olivia’s story is one of my favorites from Fiona Cole – an age gap romance, and I love when these sassy ladies can put the older broody men in their place. Then we have the forbidden aspect because Alexander is Olivia’s uncle’s best friend, and what this story brings is the insanely hot chemistry between these two and the struggle they go through to admit their true feelings. Finally, we are back in the Voyeur world and get to see some old friends. What a great book to start the new year.
Overall Grade:
Liar is quintessential Fiona Cole: a storyline that draws you in and holds you in place, a hero whose struggle breaks and remolds him into a better man, and a heroine whose strength and energy lies at the core of the hero’s evolution. What is profound about Cole’s storytelling is her ability to keep it fresh. She clearly has a thing for the forbidden, at least in her Voyeur world. Yet, each of the Voyeur books finds its individual footing. And Liar is no different. It continues to show Cole’s prowess at writing steamy, forbidden romance.
It’s too simplistic to call this an “age-gap” romance. It is true with the heroine, Olivia, being a bit more than a decade younger than Kent, the hero of the story. Yet, their story illustrates that age is only a number. For the most part, Olivia is more emotionally mature than Kent, unapologetically promiscuous. Even in her youth, she shows a maturity that sometimes is lost on Kent. The story is simple: young woman and older man meet at a club. Their chemistry is instantaneous; they fall into each other quickly. Older man finds out that younger woman is much younger than him, but she is legal and they succumb to their lust for each other. At a later date, said younger woman and older man meet at a dinner, one held by older man’s best friend’s brother, and reality hits. Older man maintains his distance until he can’t as younger woman comes to intern with him, and his attraction and interest in her multiplies as he comes to know her beyond her outer beauty. Younger woman subtly charms the man, wanting to relive her passionate night with older man. Very quickly, older man falls for her charms, and the two consummate their lust. Older man’s kink prevails, and the younger woman begins to fall for him. Even more, the older man, who previously was promiscuous and happy with it, begins to fall for her. However, complications prevail: they are hiding their relationship from younger woman’s uncle/older man’s best friend and younger woman wants to hide it to protect the way that her uncle perceives her. Much is complicated with their relationship except their growing love for each other.
It would be too simplistic to tell you that Fiona Cole’s books are fiery. Besides the types of romance that one might consider smut, Cole writes her way deftly through her bedroom (and other places) scenes. In fact, she writes some of the hottest $ex scenes of anyone who isn’t writing smut. And I love that about her. It’s a guarantee that she will set your panties on fire.
Yet, there is something more to her books, bigger lessons that she shares through the story and characters. In this book, this message is wrapped in the character of Olivia. Olivia is a beautiful young woman raised in a wealthy household. Her parents view her through a narrow filter: they see her as a socialite, someone who will end up on the arm of a rich and powerful man. In their narrow view of her, Olivia’s parents miss out on her essence: an intelligent, strong, insightful young woman. They can only see her outer beauty, and they fail to notice her strengths. It is Uncle Daniel who truly sees Olivia. He nurtures it; he encourages it; and he guides it. As such, her relationship with Kent becomes a potential hindrance in her relationship with her uncle, and Olivia becomes the cog in the wheel of their romantic journey. As Daniel’s best friend, Kent recognizes that Daniel will struggle at first, but he knows Daniel will eventually accept them. Olivia, however, fears that Daniel will rewrite his perspective of her, and in a world where women fight to be seen as more than their outer beauty, Olivia proffers a dangerous response: she wants to hide Kent from her family, from her uncle. In her characterization of Olivia, Cole shows us the challenges of women and control. How do you control people’s respect for you when you perceive that your actions may undermine you? It’s this complication that Cole uses to add depth to her story. With Olivia’s characterization, Cole’s readers might look inward and ask of themselves all the ways they undermine themselves to gain acceptance. In the world of romance, this is a necessary insight because so much of the way that women in romance are written dangerously usurps their value. In Olivia, we find a resolute, creative, brilliant woman. Even when she shows her age in her denial of Kent, she still stands in her power of choice. This is the wisdom of Cole’s Liar.
To be honest, at the outset of Liar, Kent is fairly shallow. He objectifies women. He puts little effort into actually pursuing them or keeping them, which makes him reckless. It is Olivia who transforms him, forcing him to evolve and grow. It’s my favorite heroic journey in romance: when the alpha male is brought to his knees through his love for a heroine who can stand against and with him. Cole develops Kent’s evolution well, and I think the thing I loved most about him is his willingness to tell his friend, Daniel, about his interest in his niece. Cole doesn’t make us suffer through two people struggling to hide their relationship. Instead, she demonstrates Kent’s maturity in his understanding of his friend. Honestly, if you didn’t know any better, you might think that Kent and Daniel are the true romance here. It’s fresh to read a male friendship where the two recognize each other’s strengths and weaknesses and maturely embrace them. For me, that was the surprise of Liar’s story.
Fiona Cole continues to surprise and entertain her readers with her astute storytelling. She’s the queen of writing hot, kinky $ex. She’s not afraid to “go there,” and I love that about her because it makes for a steamy page-turning read. But don’t be fooled by that because her storytelling is much more than the steam on the page. Liar demonstrates her capacity to tell a story with meaning, one that applies to the lives of her readers. We can read ourselves into the core of Olivia’s struggle to be seen and accepted for more than her outer beauty. We can commiserate with her want to protect her most vital relationship, and Cole makes us feel deeply for the turmoil between Kent and Olivia as they struggle to find their happy ending. Fiona Cole brilliantly entertains time and time again because she finds a spot for all of us in her Voyeur world.
3 Cranky Stars
I couldn’t get into this book at the beginning it seemed to be too descriptive and I couldn’t see a point to the book. I’m glad I percivierd as half way through it picked up the pace.
Basically it’s a tale of love between two people with a big age difference. Olivia being the younger just couldn’t bring herself to tell her uncle who was the guys best friend.
A little predictable but I enjoyed the second half of the book more.
Holy hotness this was a 6 star read for me. HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
Forbidden romance between a 38 year old man and his long-term best-friend’s 21 year old niece who works as his intern.
Gah damn this was a scorching read!
“I’ve been indulgent, Olivia. I may be carefree and easy-going in my day-to-day, but in here, you obey.”~ Alexander Kent
Oh. good. grief. where to start with the sizzling read?! Honestly, I think my mouth was hanging wide open the entire time I was reading this one. We know Alexander from the Voyeur world, he is part owner of the club with Daniel but has been mainly working in his other investment interest of hotels for quite some time. Daniel’s niece Olivia Witt (David and Julia’s daughter) needs to shadow a business in order to complete a college business class project and she has quite the affinity for interior design, so Daniel connects her to his “brother” aka long-term friend Kent. Little does everyone know, Olivia and Kent are already very familiar with one another. Oh yes…very familiar.
While I’ve read plenty of age-gap romances before, I don’t believe I have ever been as comfortable with the lead relationship as I was with these two. They were so well suited and natural together that I often found myself forgetting that there was an age difference. Alexander was so funny, and charming that it was easy to forget that there was 17 years between he and Olivia. Olivia was so smart and seemed so mature. I loved the way she challenged him and that she wasn’t chasing him and fawning all over Kent on every page. It was so nice to see an accomplished “older” man treat a woman with admiration and respect. He complimented Olivia regularly and made her a priority. He valued her thoughts and opinions and was genuinely smitten with her. While he had a commanding presence, and took charge in the bedroom, much to Olivia’ s earnest approval I might add, he balanced his ego and confidence with his softer side so wonderfully. He could not have been more tailored to my tastes if I wrote his character myself. I am a HUGE Alexander Kent fan y’all!!
This was a terrific book and a well written story that I could not put down. We explored the depths of Olivia and Alexander and enjoyed their journey towards a HEA while visiting with many of our old friends from the Voyeur world…Jackson, Carina, Ian, Oaklyn and Callum. Gosh…I love it here!
One of the best age-gap romances I’ve read to date. Bravo Fiona!!!
