The lies will come back to bite you every time…Never borrow pants from your brother. Especially if he’s a size smaller than you are, because all that pressure in the junk will short-circuit your brain. And you’ll lie to a woman in a club about your real name.Leave her unsatisfied after making out in a bathroom. Then find out that she’s the one thing standing in the way of your dreams. And she … standing in the way of your dreams. And she very much doesn’t like being lied to.
Now I have to convince Lila Valentine—the woman I can’t stop thinking about, my biggest regret, and my new boss—that I’m what’s best for the baseball team she’s inherited.
If we can’t work together to save the Fireballs, the commissioner’s forcing a sale and moving them across the country.
I’ll do anything to save my home team.
But the one thing I can’t do?
Keep my hands to myself.
Which would be fine, if she hadn’t been telling me lies this whole time too.
Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is a rocking fun romance between a single dad obsessed with baseball, an heiress with secrets, baseball pants, a rundown team, and rabid ducks. It stands alone and comes with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

This was a much needed book. I love fun, lighthearted rom-coms. With all that’s going on in the world right now this was a timely book. You don’t have a lot of hypochondriac Heroes. Single parent trope books are some of my favorites. Tripp was one I had been waiting on for awhile. I knew I would love his story. Lila was a complete surprise. We had seen her as a small, side character in Stud in the Stacks, but I had forgotten all about her. Her backstory was definitely a surprise and unique. They were a great match though. Tripp’s kids, James and Emma were so adorable and stole scenes like crazy. It’s so great catching up with old friends. I love this group of characters and can’t get enough of them. I’m already excited for the next one.
I loved Tripp and Lila’s story!
I’ll admit, though, it was a bit unsettling to watch other characters mock Tripp with his germaphobic ways and his hand sanitizer addiction while I was staying home from work because of a global pandemic–I mean, I was *this* close to going off on a guy at the donut shop three weeks ago when he coughed into his hand–twice!!! Seriously, who even does that anymore???–in front of me in line. My only consolation was that the employee who took care of him wasn’t the one who took care of me.
Dude. Shoulder, elbow, or tissue. No one over the age of 5 should cough into their hands. What am I saying? Little kids just cough into the air. NO ONE should cough into their hands, ever. It wasn’t like there wasn’t a PSA every five minutes about coughing into a tissue and how to wash your hands already at that time…
But I digress.
Did I love Tripp a little more because of his slavish attention to personal hygiene? Maybe. Honestly, though, with how much he loved and took care of his kids, family, and friends I was always going to be a goner for him. Plus he’s a prime example of that troupe that I’m seeing more (but not enough yet!) of–the widow/widower who had a perfectly lovely previous relationship and manage to find love again after. (His first wife died from the flu–and his baby girl almost did as well–which also felt a bit too close for comfort, in today’s environment. But you can’t argue that it’s not realistic.) It’s a good thing that Lila is a more than worthy match for him (and, I guess, that he’s fictional…), otherwise I might have been tempted to take her on and get him for myself.
But I loved Lila too! Her secrets had secrets (and the doozy took me completely by surprise! Though admittedly, current events may have had me a little distracted…) but it’s hard to argue with what a wonderful person she really is beneath all of the prevarications. Author Pippa Grant promised in her author’s note that we’ll see them again in the next book ( Jock Blocked ), first in a series following Lila and Tripp’s baseball team, the Copper Valley Fireballs, and that’s really the only reason I was as okay as I was with getting to the end of this one.
TL;DR: Read this book. Even if you haven’t read Bro Code books 1 and 2 yet, READ THIS NOW. It’s an enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance, single dad (with the most Adorable. Kids. Ever.) romance that will make you laugh, make you cry, and only occasionally make you want to throttle a character or two…but in the end will make you smile. Like, a big smile. HUGE. 😀

Welcome back to Copper Valley and home of the Thrusters! The baseball team is in a huge slump and about to be sold but the Bro Code boy band members, Levi and Tripp Wilson, want to save their beloved home team and restore their glory. Tripp has the business mind and the plan, Levi is the handsome brother still being the superstar and Lila is the obstacle that comes between them and their dream. One night in a New York City nightclub wearing his brother’s too-tight clothes and trying on his attitude, Tripp meets Lila and the sparks begin to fly, but she thinks he’s Levi. What could possibly go wrong?
Find out when you take another fun-filled, laugh-filled, heartwarming romp in Pippa Grant’s amazing new Bro Code book! Couldn’t put this one down and be sure to keep the tissues handy to wipe the tears – from laughing so hard!!!
One of the things I love most from Pippa Grant’s book is they are fun and charming and great to get lost in. That is what I needed this week. Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire was all that and more. Tripp and Lila meet the chemistry is undeniable, but not all is as it seems. When Lila inherits a baseball team, the last person she expects to see is Tripp. Now all the want is to save the team, but can they work together to do it?
The story was sweet, delightful and just had me laughing. They each had their own issues to work through, but can they help each other? Trip was a single father trying to find his new normal. Lila has a lot of baggage, but really wants the team to succeed. Can they find a way to work together and see what is in front of them before it’s too late? This was a great read I lost myself in!

Happy reading!
Pippa Grant’s stories are the reason I read. She masterfully writes heartfelt tales of Men and Women finding their way to each other with laughter and sometimes tears all woven together into lifetimes that you get to enjoy with characters that will live on in our hearts forever. Its not a one and done with her which is what I appreciate about her books/series. Sometimes you get to see where your favorite characters are down the road or sometimes its just a comment that those in the know are aware of refers to another favorite character of yours from her books. (Cow for a walk!) Either way, please keep writing because nothing would stop me reading.
I wanna preface this by saying I think Liar Liar Hearts on Fire is only the second MF book I’ve read all year. And oh boy does Pippa Grant do them well.
Tripp Wilson, former boy band member, single dad and hypochondriac (total coincidence given the current climate) meets Lila Valentine, paranoid book lover, assistant to reclusive billionaire Dalton Wellington, and the new owner of Copper Valleys terrible baseball team. And guys, Piper and Knox are in it! They were my first Pippa book and I’m so happy they’re in this one a bunch.
This is a book that unsurprisingly starts with a few lies. For a night Tripp takes advantage of looking like his brother to pretend to be someone else. And an encounter with Lila leaves them both shaken. And when they meet again with the truth revealed, as Lila inherits the Fireballs, it’s a turning point for their relationship. Add in slightly meddling family members, far too many small wild animals, god awful internet songs, in-laws and more secrets and it makes for a compelling read.
Now although I love single dad romances, some are really good and some are so terrible. And Liar Liar balances being a single dad, having the kids be a part of the story and the main romance plot really well. The kids are always a presence without always being there which is great cause so often I read books where they just get pulled out of the box when needed and not thought of again.
A big part of that is Tripp’s paranoia about germs. Accidentally topical. But his hypochondria stems from losing his wife to the flu and it has affected his entire life. Seeing Tripp through that arc was awesome because it showed character growth in so many ways.
Lila meanwhile was all about the paranoia of being the daughter of an MIA spook. She’s secretive and keeps to herself. All of her friends are investigated and even then she doesn’t keep them for long. But let’s be real how could you not want to be friends with the Girl Band without a name and their boyfriends / family. Plus Knox’s nana is hilarious.
As I mentioned Tripp’s arc is really topical right now as so many people are being impacted by COVID-19, and I won’t lie, it was hard to read at times. But Pippa is so amazing at balancing the hard stuff with the funny moments. Truly, she does such a great job of bringing humour into her books and right now, that’s exactly what so many of us need.
Also, can I just point out how gorgeous that cover is? Seriously one of my favourites ever. Now can someone tell me who the model is? Because oh boy… those eyes…
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
What a fun read in a time when we all really need it! Liar, Liar was a funny and sweet fast read. We get a glimpse of characters from past books and of course there are some crazy animals in the mix too. I highly recommend if you need a dose of laughter!
I loved Tripp and Lila. They are everything you want in a h/h chemistry for days, witty, dorky, laugh our loud hilarious and Uber sexy. If you are a fan of Pippa books you get oodles of cameos and all of the hijinks of her rom coms!
Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is a single dad sports romance which is told in the first-person point of view and can be read as either a stand-alone or as the third novel in the Bro Code series.
Tripp takes a night off and goes to a club with his brother where he meets a beautiful woman that he ends up having a very bad experience within the bathroom of the club. When entering a meeting two weeks later to attempt to purchase his beloved baseball team, the Copper Valley Fireballs, only to come face-to-face with Lila again and realize that she is the owner of the team. Lila inherited the Fireballs from her uncle when he unexpectedly passed away and does not want to sell them being her only link to her mother. The commissioner is going to move the team across the country if Lila and Tripp can not work together, get past the lies and save the team.
OMG!!!! Pippa Grant hits another home run with Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire. The laughs never stop from the beginning of the novel right to the end. I was physically in tears and laughing out loud multiple times while reading. Watch out for the ducks, lol! Tripp and Lila started off by butting heads with lots of sexual tension between them but managed to learn to really trust each other. I can not wait for the continuation of the Fireballs and the remainder of the Bro Code boys.

Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is another winner from Pippa Grant. There are so many reasons why I loved this book so hard – Including but not limited to:
1. A sexy single-dad who’s obsessive over his kids and germs
2. An undercover heiress who pushes his limits and boundaries
3. Catching up with old friends (whose books you don’t have to read but should because they’re amazing)
4. Laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe (a normal reaction to Pippa Grant’s books)
5. Unexpected wildlife and many, many more!
I stayed up way later than I should have while reading Tripp and Lila’s story. Tripp’s kids are the cutest ever.
I received this book for free but you can bet I’ll be buying this when it goes on sale.
This is the third book in the Bro Code Series, A Romantic Comedy. I love this Series! Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is a standalone in the Series. Tripp and Lila’s story has it all: fun, emotional, sexy, and romantic. Tripp, a single dad, is handsome, sexy, and overprotective. Lila is beautiful, smart, and strong. They are perfect together. Tripp’s kids, Emma and James, are wonderful, and hilarious! I love their very happy ending. Joe Arden, and Savannah Peachwood did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend this Series! (review updated with the audiobook version)
Tripp and Lila were a great read. I loved seeing Tripp as a dad with his own story! The kids were hilarious but I can state the best stuff came from the banter between Lila and Tripp. I cannot recommend this enough to people looking for a happy read in these crazy times!
Looking for a fun, sassy, smart single dad/enemies to lovers read?? Pick up Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire right now!
Go. Seriously, I’ll wait.
You need Lila and Tripp in your life. Their crazy, witty banter plus a sexy, slow burning romance makes this couple one of my all-time favorites!
Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is Pippa Grant at her finest and just what I needed in these trying, crazy times! It will be worth the bribe to your kids or significant other to take the couple hour break from life and indulge in the hilarity of this wonderful cast of characters.
There are many things I always expect in a Pippa Grant book. There is the sweet, sexy romance. There is the laughter. There are the animals, sometimes sweet, sometimes crazy, always lovable. There are the chapters full of fun text messages. There are always wonderful, often quirky other characters. There are loving, supportive family and friends And of course there is always a beautiful, loving hea. This book has them all. The story is different of course. This one is a little more serious, but full of laughter nonetheless. It’s about Tripp and Lila, Tripps adorable and funny kids, a failing baseball team, chipmunks, frogs, especially ducks, mistaken identity, secrets, heartache and happiness. It’s a story mostly about love. Love between people, family and friends and the ways they care for and support each other, usually with a good dose of laughter to go along with it.
Pippa Grant did it again! “Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire” is another amazing laugh-out-loud, hillarious, super romantic, heart warming, highly addictive story set in the Bro Code universe and the extented Pippaverse. Lila and Tripp have become one of my favorite couples, although it’s hard to choose between Pippa’s characters. I won’t recount the story, others have done that for me. But in all the craziness that goes around these days, it was my light in the darkness! I’ve been in self-quarantine for the last 20 days due to the coronavirus and with three kids at home with no school Lila and Tripp’s story saved my sanity. Thank you Pippa! Don’t you ever stop writing stories like this 🙂
Tripp finally gets his HEA! Tripp is the eldest of the Bro Code band members. He is always the responsible one. He takes care of everyone, it’s his job. But he could stop his wife from dying from the flu. So he became obsessed with trying to fix everything. He became a germaphobe, controlling everything single dad.
Lila is an orphan, who had to learn to take care of herself at a young age. Her eccentric wealthy uncle sent her to boarding school because he didn’t know how to raise her. While she was away he spent all his money and almost lost the family baseball team.
Once again Pippa hit’s it out of the park! The way these two find each other and find themselves in the process is hilarious and touching. I finished this gem in 1 day and I will start it all over again!
I love the family that Tripp has, and I’m not talking about the blood family, I’m talking about the extended family. They are there for him through all the good times and bad. I also love how Lila came out of “hiding” and truly found her “family”.
Tripp and Lila’s love story is soo swoon worthy, that I have to reread it!
I loved this book so much! I couldn’t put it down. I was hooked right from the beginning. Tripp is #3 on my favorite Pippa heroes. I loved him so much. He’s a single dad and he knows how to take care of those close to him. His two little ones are so adorable. The scenes with them and Tripp will make you sigh. He was the “dad” of Bro Code. Lila is awesome as well. She’s a loner, but being left the baseball team will be one of the best things to ever happen to her. It made my heart happy to see her get a very well deserved HEA. I loved seeing so many cameos from the Pippaverse. Make sure you pick time when you can just sit down to read this one because trust me you didn’t want to be interrupted. This book was a trifecta for me, 1) single dad romance 2) involved baseball and 3)it’s written by Pippa so laughing is expected. If you want to get lost in a book look no further.
Oh, Pippa Grant, how I adore thee. You have a talent for making me laugh out loud to the point of tears, swoon with and for your adorably real characters and want to drop into your fictitious worlds to live forever and ever.
Lila and Tripp are quite the pair. Together, their issues are many and daunting – and so is their chemistry. Ducks, good friends, family and trying hard NOT to fall in love make this story so much fun!
Highly recommend!

When I get a book from Pippa Grant, I know that it is going to be an outrageous, laughter-fueled read, and Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire definitely delivers the funny and the heat!
Tripp and Lila are are both such fun characters. I love that Pippa writes in the first person, alternating perspectives so we get to see inside both of the main characters’ heads. Their thoughts are just as funny as the words that come out of their mouths, if not more so. I also love visiting with past characters and seeing future characters as well. Pippa includes great side characters, funny antics, witty banter and a Pippa Grant book is always a treasure that will make you laugh when you need it the most.
Thank you, Pippa, for making me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants, which still satisfying my inner romantic!
