The lies will come back to bite you every time…Never borrow pants from your brother. Especially if he’s a size smaller than you are, because all that pressure in the junk will short-circuit your brain. And you’ll lie to a woman in a club about your real name.Leave her unsatisfied after making out in a bathroom. Then find out that she’s the one thing standing in the way of your dreams. And she … standing in the way of your dreams. And she very much doesn’t like being lied to.
Now I have to convince Lila Valentine—the woman I can’t stop thinking about, my biggest regret, and my new boss—that I’m what’s best for the baseball team she’s inherited.
If we can’t work together to save the Fireballs, the commissioner’s forcing a sale and moving them across the country.
I’ll do anything to save my home team.
But the one thing I can’t do?
Keep my hands to myself.
Which would be fine, if she hadn’t been telling me lies this whole time too.
Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is a rocking fun romance between a single dad obsessed with baseball, an heiress with secrets, baseball pants, a rundown team, and rabid ducks. It stands alone and comes with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is the third book in the Bro Code series, but could be read as a stand alone. Tripp and his brothers have dreamed of owning the Fireballs ever since they were little. But there’s one woman standing in their way, Lila, a woman with no knowledge of baseball, and a woman he tried to have a one night stand with that turned into a disaster. With secrets flowing between them and their hearts tangling up with one another, is it possible to run the team together and find love, or will their pasts prove that happily ever afters only exist in romance novels?
I’m not going to lie. It took me a really long time to get into this book. But I knew that this was a Pippa Grant book, and would be totally worth it if I just gave it a chance, so I slowly chipped away at it. Then next thing I knew, I was half way through the book, smiling and enjoying getting to know the characters so much more, then I realized I couldn’t put the book down as Tripp and Lila couldn’t resist one another anymore. I loved the second half of this book! I loved their connection, their romance, their unexpected drama, and their love. I laughed, cried, swooned, and wanted to give everyone a sanitized hug so often during these pages, and I really fell for both Tripp and Lila. One of my favorite aspects about Lila was that she always pushed forward, no matter what life threw her way. She had guts and grit and was humble when it came to others, but proud of her hardworking attitude. Her backstory is almost outrageous, yet there’s a sense of realism that draws you in and makes you want to connect with her. Tripp was a little crazy with his fear of germs, but he had a really good reason to be. I loved his parenting style, I loved how protective he was, I loved how dang relatable he was as a character! I honestly thought they were perfect for each other. The chemistry was obviously there, but I also loved that they helped bring each other out of their shell, finding love and acceptance and a brightness to their life that didn’t exist previously. I liked all of the background drama that was happening, I loved their connection as it slowly formed, and I’m so excited to read more from Ms. Grant!
Loved it! All Pippa books keep you entertained and laughing out loud and this one was no exception.
Enter the world of germophobe Tripp Wilson, a former band member and single father of a 2 year

of Tripp and Lilah is the start of the fun He lies telling her his name is Levi, his famous band
brother’s name. The story takes us through their fears and insecurities. Together they overcome
what each other needs . Pippa Grant writes this story from both POV. A great read and highly
recommened.
What a brilliant start to my Pippa Grant journey.
This book was recommended to me by a fellow book buddy and she told me if I adored rom-coms, loved to laugh out loud and enjoyed a good storyline, then I should look no further than this author. So I’m on a quest to discover more and more.
For a book to keep me invested it has to have an authentic storyline, characters that I want to hang with and they need to have vulnerability and compassion along with a wicked sense of humor. This book had all of the above with a few twists added in.
As it is my first book, all of the characters were new to me and I didn’t find it hard to keep up. Although I’m intrigued to know more about the secondary characters if they are as rich and deep as Tripp and Lila were. So many times I wanted to hug Tripp with his backstory and how he got to this point. Lila was the perfect answer to Tripp’s loneliness and their banter was fun to witness. He has certain idiosyncrasies that were understandably and made him more charming. He was an amazing single dad who loved his extended family and his baseball team. Lila found her niche amongst this group, I was so happy she finally got to experience the full pleasure of being at peace and welcomed.
Now on to my next recommendation of Jock Blocked and Brooks Elliots story.
Heartwarming story of Lila Valentine, personal assistant to a reclusive billionaire, who inherits the Copper Valley Fireballs and Tripp Wilson, ex-Bro Code band member, single dad and germophobe. Lila and Tripp meet and get off on the wrong foot when Tripp lets her think he is his brother, Levi. Tripp and his buddies want to buy the Fireballs but Lila won’t sell. The baseball commissioner finagles Lila into making Tripp the president of operations. The race is on. The two argue about everything and passion erupts. Add in quite a few of the old characters from the prior stories, mating ducks, Lila’s mysterious “Uncle” Guido, Tripp’s adorable kids and the pair’s insecurities. It is a tender story, well-written, funny but tearful. Yay team!

Loved this story so much!!
I knew I was going to love Tripp’s story and this one did NOT disappoint. I’m enjoying this series more with each read.
Tripp is a devoted dad who meets Lila on a rare night off. Things get hot…then they get interrupted…then the next thing you know – you are meeting again at opposite sides of the negotiating table after she finds out you lied about who you are. Oh brother! This is going to be complicated.
This was truly a laugh out loud read and I loved Tripp and Lila together and if his kids don’t melt your heart! Oh my! Tripp is one in a million – even if he drives you crazy! What a ride!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
Each of the Bro Code books just keeps getting better! Tripp and Lila are my favorite couple yet! This is a heart warming story of two people overcoming their pasts and finding each other. On top of that, who wouldn’t love a Flaming Meatball?
This book has it all:
– Hot single dad
– Sizzling romance
– Laugh-out-loud funny
One of the funniest books I have read in a very long time – it’s such a fun and easy story to read. I flew through the whole book in just a few hours, which is unheard of for me!!
This is a definite must read!

Liar, Liar, Hearts On Fire is the third installment of Pippa Grant’s Bro Code series. A sizzling single dad romance, full of laugh out loud funny one-liners.
Tripp is an ex-rockstar single dad with a serious phobia of germs and an unhealthy obsession with hand sanitizer. His love of the local baseball team has him doing throwing everything he has at a chance to own the team and bring them back from the “worst season in professional sports ever”.
Lila grew up being paranoid about everyone around her. When her only living relative leaves the family baseball team to her in his will she decides this change of pace might be just what she needs and throws herself into the job making waves with every step she takes.
This book was exactly what I needed right now, I haven’t laughed so much reading a book in, well ever! My TBR just grew exponentially as I quickly went and added many more of Pippa’s books to my ever-growing list.
Pippa Grant is the queen of Easter eggs in her absolutely hilarious romcoms. I love reading her books and being reminded of some of my very favorite characters and their stories!
“I thought you wanted to throttle me.” “Kissing and throttling aren’t mutually exclusive with you.”
— Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire (Bro Code Book 3) by Pippa Grant
Tripp and Lila have that push pull that always makes a romcom work. Add to that some hilarious ducks, witty banter, secrets, and crazy family and friends, and you have the makings of a favorite book! I love how Pippa works in characters from different books to make this big family that everyone gets to be a part of.
The chemistry between these two is awesome and how they meet is so good.
I always enjoy Pippa books and this is no exception. Give Tripp and Lila a chance, you won’t be disappointed!
Well this one just cheered me right up!
When Tripp and Lila meet, things are starting off grand. Not. But they are certainly intrigued about each other. From thereon, the story just gets more hilarious. I love the humor, and the family in this story. I love how Tripp has some struggles, and those around him don’t laugh, but accept and help. And they are just absolute fire, sparks and swoons!
This is my first book by Ms Grant and I really enjoyed it. The characters are unbelievably easy to like, and not just the main ones, friends and family are just as easy to like as Lila and Tripp are. It reads as a stand alone and having not read any of the previous books I didn’t feel like I was missing anything.
This was a fun read. I loved the banter between Lila and Tripp, but more than that I loved the connection they had. Both as stubborn and bull headed as the other, the push and pull between these two is constant and I loved it! Definitely recommend this book. I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in the Bro Code series.
There were a lot of fun things about this Second Chance romance. The Fireballs end up with a new owner in Lila Valentine and former Bro Code member, Tripp, ends up working for her.
There is a duck romance, some cute kids, some steamy people romance, and glimpses of a lot of your favorite Pippa characters.
It wouldn’t be a Pippa book without a lot of laugh out loud comedy, some crazy animal scenes, and a couple of awkward moments.
I’ve really enjoyed the Bro Code books and look forward to the next in the series.
Lila and Tripp absolutely loved this one. It was strange to read this with baseball back drop since there is currently no baseball and the use of hand sanitizer by main character. This two were perfect together you could feel the heat from the first meet up. But definitely too many secrets. Loved the kids in the too hysterical and of course some old
Friends filled in the the story.
OMG this was one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read recently! It has everything you want in a Rom-Com story!
Tripp is in New York for business and also visiting his famous brother. Once upon a time, they belonged in a boy band called Bro-Code, however his brother Levi is still touring in a solo career. Since his wife passed away two years ago, unexpectedly, he’s been a hermit taking care of his four year old son and two year old daughter. Now he’s at a club, trying to reach out to the current owner of the baseball team, the Fireballs, which he wants to buy. Tripp is also wearing his brother’s too tight pants and shirt. All because he took his kids suitcase and left the grandparents with his clothes. When he comes across a gorgeous redhead with a martini glass stuck in her curls. Offering to help her, Tripp takes her to the bathroom, except now they are both locked in a stall making out. The only problem is that she thinks he’s Levi and worse than that he doesn’t correct her.
Fast forward three weeks later, the owner of the team passed away and left it to his niece. Of all days that he can’t get a sitter for his kids, when he has a meeting with the new owner. Except their a glitch, the owner is no other than the woman in the bathroom stall. Apologizing isn’t working, so maybe groveling? Lila Valentine doesn’t want to sell, instead offering Manager of the organization, while she owns the team. Every time they argue they end up making out. He wants to kill her at the same time he wants to take her to his bed.
This book was so funny and romantic and fabulous!
The usual shenanigans we expect from a Pippa Grant novel. Characters are warm and lovable. Great camaraderie. Lots and lots of laughs with a sweet HEA.
Ducks, Bros, Baseball, Competition, Former Boy Band Hottie w OCD meets His Match!
Tripp and his ‘brothers’ want to buy the Copper Valley Fireballs. That’s how he finds himself at a nightclub in New York in his brother’s too tight clothes stalking the current owner of the team. It is also where he meets Lila Valentine, and finds himself making out in a bathroom with her (with her thinking he’s Levi (his brother)). Unfortunately, things did not go as smoothly as one might think they would with that much heat and alcohol consumed.
Little did either of them expect to have to work together after her uncle’s unexpected death. And so begins the bladder busting shenanigans of this novel. So many moments of uncontrollable laughter while reading this novel. Tripp and Lila’s story is full of funny, but it is also full of heart because it is a Pippa story after all. And that is what she always gives us. Side busting laughter and heart warming stories. Like the Grinch, your heart will grow three sizes by the time you finish.
I love that we get a bit of mystery. A fascinating mystery. Someone is always a touch neurotic. The animals are hilarious. The children have attitude and are still adorable. And Beck is still sexy despite being so odd. I can’t wait for the next story!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I would say that this book is a little more tame than most of Pippa Grant’s books but there are still cute, quirky scenes. Tripp’s had to deal with the loss of his wife so his situation is a little more sensitive than other characters have gone through. As he goes a little overboard trying to prevent the same fate from happening to any of his kids or himself, he’s not really living. The one time he tries to let go a little bit, warning bells go off and he retreats. Lila’s a determined woman who rarely lets anyone into her circle. Both are not totally honest but can they get past their white lies or lies of omission? Is Tripp ready to let someone into his bubble? There is definitely chemistry between the two of them…
Oh my god this book. This book was such a ride. I literally felt like I needed to just hold on tight and go with it. Because even though I saw all of the twists and turns coming they were so well executed that I still felt my stomach flutter on each one.
Lila was unique as hell. I mean seriously there isn’t anyone like her. And her background story was sad but it made her so understanding and patient she was awesome. And I loved her friends and family. They took quirky to a whole new level.
And Tripp was definitely something too. Because man was that guy nuts. His germaphobe ways, while understandable, were so over the top I would go insane in his presence. But he loved his kids and family and he was such a great dad I completely sympathize with where his fears came from. His kids were awesome and the fact that they perfectly portrayed their ages was a cherry on the cake.
As always it was great to catch up with the bros and their families. I can’t wait to see who’s up next and I’m going now to pre order the spinoff so I can get more Tripp, Lila and the kids.
