IF YOU TELL A LIE Twenty years ago, ex-beauty queen Didi Storm worked the Vegas strip as a celebrity impersonator. Now, in death, she’s finally getting the publicity she always craved. To the police, it looks like suicide, or a stunt gone wrong. Her estranged daughter, Remmi, knows the answer isn’t so simple. Though dressed in Didi’s clothes and wig, the broken body on the sidewalk isn’t Didi . … isn’t Didi . . .
THERE’S NO DOUBT
Remmi was fifteen when she last saw her mother. En route to meet her crush, Noah Scott, Remmi secretly witnessed Didi handing over one of her newborn twins to a strange man. Then Didi disappeared, as did Remmi’s other half-sibling. Remmi pleaded with the authorities to find them, with no success. Yet she’s always sensed that someone is watching her . . .
YOU WILL DIE
Noah, now running his own PI firm, resurfaces in Remmi’s life, determined to find out what happened that long-ago night. As they dig deeper, the truth about Remmi’s family begins to emerge—a story of greed and twisted lies that someone will kill again and again to keep hidden . . .

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC of Liar Liar, by Lisa Jackson
Didi Storm is a single mother with a teenage daughter and infant twins, she is also a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. Didi tries to come into big money by selling one of the twins to their rich father in a secret late night meeting in the desert. There is gunfire and a car explosion and when the police find the burned out car the next day reveals a dead male but no signs of a infant.
Didi feeling guilty about selling her baby now has a plan to get the baby back. She dresses up in her Marilyn Monroe clothes and makeup and heads out in her Cadillac. She is never seen again.
Twenty years later Remmi, Didi’s daughter, witnesses a woman dressed like Marilyn Monroe jump to her death from a hotel in San Francisco. Remmi goes to the police and tells them the woman is not her mother, even though the woman’s clothes and wig have Didi’s name signed on them. A recently released tell all book about Didi Storm seems to be stirring up a lot of old secrets that someone desperately wants to remain secret.
Now Remmi and the police have to solve this 20 year old mystery. Are Didi and her twins alive? Who is the father of the twins? Who is Remmi’s father? Who was the woman that jumped to her death? Who is the real author of the tell all book on Didi’s life? Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. This was another well done story by Lisa Jackson.
I felt that it started out a little slow, but the more I read, the more I got into the story. It has suspense and a good mystery. It took me quite a while to figure out the killer. Remmi’s mother disappeared and so did her sister, brother, the nanny and a boy named Noah. Twenty years later, things start happening and makes Remmi wonder if her mother is really dead. She has to be after all this time, but no one has ever found her body. What happened to the twins? Are they still alive? She has been wondering about all of this for too many years. All of a sudden Noah comes back into her life. Where has he been? Can she trust him? She has tried to get on with her life, but there is so much holding her back. Too many old secrets.
I LOVE ALL HER BOOKS SHE ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUTHOR I CANT WAIT TILL THE NEXT ONE COMES OUT
Lisa Jackson is a skilled storyteller that provides characters I enjoy reading about who often find themselves in situations I would never wish to find myself in. This story is one that begins in the present, jumps to the past and then returns to the present day with a lead character 15 in the beginning who reappears twenty years later when her mother, Didi Storm, is front and center in the public eye…even though Didi has been missing for those twenty years already mentioned.
This is a story of greed, dysfunction families, jealousy, murder and more. There is a second chance at romance for Didi’s daughter, Remmi as she meets up with Noah Scott once again. The two had experiences they will never forget in the desert outside Las Vegas long ago and the mystery of what happened and why has stayed with them for decades. Their chemistry is still there and ready to be explored as they try to figure out what happened so many years before.
I really liked Remmi and her ability to overcome. I loved Noah and his ability to handle situations. I hated the bad guys…all of them. I was eager to find out what would happen and did enjoy the book though there were a few times I seemed to lose interest for a bit. I am not sure if that is because of the way the book was arranged with the leaps in time or if I had trouble relating to some of the characters. I still enjoyed the story and do look forward to reading more by this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4-5 Stars
Lisa Jackson has made me lose sleep…..again. This book, “Liar, Liar”, at first seem to drag, but when it took off, it kept me reading way beyond my bedtime. I’ve read many of Ms. Jackson’s books and have enjoyed them all. Some more than others… She also writes some that have a little more ‘romance’ in them than I prefer with my mysteries so those I’ve put on a ‘way down the list to read’ list. Some day I might get to them. Too.
This is about a teenage pregnancy, single mom trying to do right by her now teenage daughter and on top of that??? Well, now the mom has had twins!! Hang on to your reading glasses, you’re in for a tale of many twists and sometimes, I thought I had it ALL figured out and then I didn’t. One day I would like to speak with Ms. Jackson on the ending of this one. I would have like to see it a little different, but don’t let that stop you from picking this next. You’ll be glad you did.
All of her books i have enjoyed. The plots start off right away and keeps you turning page after page. She is a great author.
This is a book I would read again.
Lisa Jackson never fails me…her books inevitably have me staying up late and sneaking peeks during my breaks…because I usually can’t (don’t want to ) put them down. Liar Liar was unpredictable. I really didn’t see the end until I got to it!
I love this author so much!

Lisa Jackson NEVER disappoints her books always on the edge of your seat and her books always makes you feel like you are part of the story if not just reading it a must read
Spellbound right to the end!
This book was very disappointing!! Slow and hard to get into!!! Boring!!!
A great book by Lisa Jackson. She keeps you turning those pages.
Great book when you are looking for something different! Fast paced and easy to read and follow!
A convoluted tale about betrayal and interlocking personalities that lead the reader down a long road that could have been shorter. I am a fan of Lisa Jackson but I felt this story took a long time in getting started. Didi Storm, a celebrity impersonator and the mother to Remmi decides to pull one more scam in her lifetime of scams and untruths. This time Didi leaves in her wake her teenage daughter Remmi who witnesses her mother’s meeting when Didi sells one of her twins. Tragedy occurs and soon after Didi disappears with the remaining twin. Remmi, not knowing what happened to the half-siblings or her mother is sent to live with her estranged aunt and uncle. Now an adult Remmi sees a woman fall to her death dressed in a costume similar to one Didi used to wear. Was this woman Didi? Past and present come together to an interesting conclusion.
Excellent read. I found this book to be riveting, and a page turner. I wasn’t sure of the outcome up until almost the very end of the book. I would certainly recommend it too anyone that enjoys Lisa Jackson’s books.
Lisa Jackson is one of my favorite authors. I love a mystery & she always delivers
It was all right. The story was good. The plot was good but it felt like the first 3/4 of the book was setting up what was left of the book. Over all I was disappointed. The author is a good author so the book should have been better
Luv Lisa Jackson
Great!
