This a great book, a romantic page-turner. I hated the ending because it just stopped with all sorts of loose ends, but the second books ties those up nicely. I really love the characters!!
I did not like that the book had no end. It suddenly stopped in the middle of a climactic scene!
It was ok
I must admit i had started to read this book about 3 times but it was when i wasn’t in the mood for YA well finally i picked it up and couldn’t put it freaking down. I can’t believe i waited so long to read this book and i am kicking myself so hard.
This book is full of secrets and twists and turns i didn’t see coming and it had me hanging onto the last page and i must admit i still didn’t get all the answer i wanted and i loved how this finished and had me hanging to read the next book.
Becca and her family had moved from there to a smaller town to start fresh as something went down and they need to get away of course this was the secrets and it was frustrating me to not know but that’s what makes me love the book so much.
Evan has his own secrets and the angst and intensity between Becca and Evan was crazy good and had me hanging on every word i was reading.
Then there were the friends and the enemies and by the end of the book your still not sure exactly who is who and i loved that.
I love L.A. cottons writing and story telling and this one was no exception.
If you haven’t read L.A. cotton then this is a must read especially for fans of YA and an awesome story. If you have read L.A. cotton but not this book you will love it.
5 secretive stars for this baby
5 stars for Liar Liar by L.A. Cotton. This is book 1 in the Liar Liar duet. Becca has had to move for a chance to finish high school where no one knows the secrets of her past. However, when Becca starts the new school it is not as great as she thought it would be. This town is nothing she assumed it would be. The people in it might have even more secrets than she does. She does meet Evan who she instantly feels an attraction too, but nothing with him is as it seems. I am loving the suspense in this book. I love that just when I think I am figuring something out I am hit with something I never expected. This book is great and I am diving into Truth or Dare now!
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
The story follows Becca as she tries to fit into a new town and school after having to leave her old life and secrets. Only, her old life and secrets seem to be starting to catch up with her new self.
Through the whole story, we are given little snippets as to what may have happened, but we don’t actually find out. We are left with a cliffhanger and will have to wait until the next book to find out what exactly happened to Becca to cause her whole family to uproot their lives and move to another town.
I enjoyed this book but wished the next book was out. I need answers!
She thought the lies kept her safe.
She hoped they wouldn’t unravel.
As they continue, they change her one at a time.
But as long as it all remains in the past…
Becca is learning that nothing is as it seems. Everything around her is spiralling out of control and she will never be who she was. She will never have that life again. Can she make do with her new life or will the past haunt her?
What an intriguing story! Anyone can understand the dilemma and the first slip…but Becca can’t seem to stop lying. Trying desperately to fit in and distance herself from that night.
I am sooooo interested in seeing where this goes from here. Evan!!!!!!!
So much venting to do but I don’t believe in spoilers!!!ugh, can not wait for book 2 Truth or Dare!
reviewed for the Sweet Spot Sisterhood
Explicitly sexual. Not appropriate for MY 13 year old granddaughter and I to share.
Great book, but gave 4 stars because by the end the story had started to drag out and then There was no ending at all you have to read the second book to find out what happens. But in all it was a entertaining book.
Seriously?!?! I have SO many questions!! I went into this book knowing that it ended on a cliffhanger. But wow… I’m so confused!! I need answers! This isn’t the first book by L.A. Cotton that I’ve read and it definitely won’t be the last (obviously I need to read the next book in this series). I was so emotional for Becca. I’ve never moved to a new school but I can understand how difficult it can be starting over in a new city, a new school. Becca goes into it hoping for a positive experience only to have her hopes shattered and for the biggest bully in the school to target her and not let up. Along the way she makes some good friends; Scarlet, Lilly, and their gang of crazy. Then there is Evan, the quiet, brooding hot boy who loans her his math book on the first day. Slowly Becca starts to find her “people” and she starts to get closer to Evan. But is it enough? Are things as good as they seem? Those are just some of the questions that I need answered. I will be patiently… patiently waiting to read the next book. Definitely read this book though! It’s heavy on the drama and will keep you on the edge of your seat, but you won’t regret it. I know I didn’t.
