Fake it until you make it. That was the mantra Cori Dash chanted as she chased a big city dream. The more you tell people you’re on top of the world, the more they believe it – just like they believed the embellished image she sold them with her knock off designer facade. It wasn’t lying if the truth stood somewhere in the middle – and she didn’t get caught. Dominic Blackthorne owned half of that … caught.
Dominic Blackthorne owned half of that big city…and a reputation. Rather than dispel rumors or show the world the real Nick, he let his own fake image run free. Until Cori Dash – the only person who told him exactly how it was, even if it stung.
When Cori is faced with her ex-fiance, now engaged to her ex-best friend, it’s game on. In her boldest move yet, she concocts her biggest lie to date by introducing the first handsome stranger that walks by as her new fiancé. Happy to play the part, Nick is already planning the fake wedding of her dreams.
You know what they say about lying – the truth always comes out – and it hurts. Especially when Cori finds out she isn’t the biggest Liar in this game, and she’s been out played.

This story was amazing!!! It sucked me in from the beginning, with Cori and Dominic meeting in a bit of an unconventional way. This story had me sucked in with the banter between these two, the one upping of certain secondary characters, and the sexy chemistry between these two. Nick steps up and becomes the man that Cori needs in her life, and shows her how special she truly is. As for certain ex’s (the best friend and fiancée) they seem like the perfect train wreck of a couple that will get everything coming their way. A phenomenal must read that I would highly recommend!!!
No one understands the idioms of the American language as well as Stephanie St. Klaire. Her writing is authentic, hilarious and spot on. Example: when referencing a noon meeting, the heroine calls it a nooner without thought! She is a gifted writer and finds humor in everyday life. This author is as good at writing as Lucille Ball was comedy. Having a bad day? Depressed? Pick up a Stephanie St. Klaire book …it’s cheaper than Xanax!
Cori and Nick wow what a couple, they ended up being. I laughed till I hurt with all the shenanigans she got into. You have to fake it till you make it. Nick is a prince for going along with her tall tale of romance.
Great read .
A OVER THE TOP, SEXILICIOUS, ULTRA FUN, WITTY ROMANTIC COMEDY THAT MADE ME ROLLING OVER LAUGHING, AND GAVE ME ALL THE HAPPY SIGHS! HECK, I COULDN’T STOP SMILING!
I LOVED LOOOVED, LOOOOOOOOVED Cori and Nic! These two had such AMAZING chemistry. From the moment Cori grabbed him and set him up as her fake Fiance I was giggling and rooting for them and I was taking on such a fantastic, entertaining ride I couldn’t help myself but to read it again the moment I hit the ending! Its THAT fun and the heat, OH IT CRACKLED! This book is beautiful and so sexy and a heck of a lot of fun. I can’t say it enough, this book was SO. MUCH. FUN.

Anytime I am in need of a great story, whether it’s a re-read or a new release, I know I can always count on just that from Stephanie St. Klaire. Her writing is amazing and the way she weaves her stories is nothing short of spectacular. I always feel like I can pick up the remote, turn it to Hallmark, and practically watch one of her books, that’s how vividly they play in my head as I’m reading.
Cori Dash is all about faking it til you make it. So, when confronted by her ex-fiance and her ex-best friend (who are now engaged), she grabs the first guy she sees and plays him off as her new fiance. Dominic “Nick” Blackthorne is all for playing the part of her fiance. So much so, that he keeps finding ways to prolong their fake “engagement”. These two are perfect together and the chemistry is combustible. This is a quick read, but full of hilarious moments, great secondary characters, and seriously hot schmexiness. Stephanie keeps proving why she’s a go-to author for me.

This book was so much fun to read! The characters are wonderfully written, and you will laugh at various times while reading. There are some goofy situations that our protagonists find themselves in, and the supporting characters are delightful!
Nick is the male leading character and Cori is the female protagonist. She caught her ex-fiancé in bed with her supposed best friend, and that ended both relationships. As a result, Cori feels unlovable. Nick is wealthy and good looking, but is tired of being sought after for his money, connections, and power. He’s looking for a real relationship with someone that can be his partner, and not someone looking for a sugar daddy.
Through a series of interesting conversations, Nick and Cori decide to pretend to be engaged so that Cori doesn’t have to face her ex and his new fiancé/her ex-best friend. The story that ensues is worth reading and is very enjoyable. Two huge thumbs up!
Liar is a Faux-Mance Novel by Stephanie St. Klaire. One of her lighter reads. Funny and charming.
I loved Cordelia Daschel ‘Cori Dash’ and Dominick ‘Nick’ Blackthorne. I typically am not a fan of billionaire businessmen hero’s but Stephanie made Nick so likeable. Not your typical romance novel billionaire businessmen hero. And Cordelia was funny. I loved the way they first met. When she grabbed the first random guy that walked by to tell her ex and ex bff that he was her fiancee. Not knowing it was her boss, who always liked her from afar.
An easy read. And a really enjoyable book.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Cordelia “Cori Dash” Daschel needs help getting out of a jam. Dominic “Nick” Blackthorne is an interesting man – that’s all I’m saying because he’s an experience that you need to enjoy by yourself. There are a couple of secondary characters that I fell in love with. They have wit, a great personality, and they got me to chuckle.
Even though this story wasn’t told in the first person it felt like it was told mostly from Cori’s point of view. Loved the laughable moments the author has created – I’m just sorry that some of them were at Cori’s expense, not. Nick seems like a subtle steamroller. He keeps Cori off-kilter just enough that she doesn’t realize what’s going on until just about the last minute.
If you know what a romantic comedy is than you will find this at the top of that category. But it also has some serious moments. This story has a nice flow to it. It also seems so realistic and just like in real life there are some ups and downs. But it’s what comes at the end that will seal the deal – it’s totally Nick’s style. I look forward to reading more of this author’s Faux-Mance.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I loved this book from the get go. It was funny from the start. Cori desperate to show her former bestie and ex fiancee they couldn’t get her down by grabbing the nearest guy and pretended to be engaged to the man. They continue to cook up different lies to one up the evil couple trying to bring Cori down but end up falling for each other. In the end the lies are too much and the pain of dissect and betrayal year them apart but love is a risk worth fighting for.
Liar is a fantastic standalone story. Stephanie St. Klaire created a fun storyline that made me laugh, feel connected to the characters and brought hours of entertainment. The chemistry between the characters was combustible and kept me burning through the pages to find out what would happen next.
You know the saying…what tangled webs we weave, when trying to deceive….well when Cori grabs the arm of a perfect stranger and acts as if he is her fiance, the last thing she expects it the extend he will go to follow her ploy through. Somehow between all the lies there becomes a truth that is hard to deny.
Stephanie St. Klaire is a fantastic author and someone who I would highly recommend reading. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
A wonderful and very funny romance by this author! I don’t think I have laughed so much during a book as I have with Liar in a long time. I enjoyed reading and following Nick and Cori’s story.
Such a cute rom-com love story.
In this book, we have Cori Dash, who is working full time at a company she loves. She is going for a VP position in a few months, and has been working herself silly to get her plans in order.
When Cori is at a local event, she runs into her ex-fiancé and ex-best friend. What is one to do? Grab the nearest stranger of course and pull him into your web of lies. Cori doesn’t realize who Nick is, when she is talking with Phillip and Winnie.
When Nick shows up in her office the next week Cori thinks he’s a creepy stalker guy and tries to get him thrown out of the building. Great to know who the boss is as the security officer knows who Nick is.
Nick and Cori hit things off on a comfortable friend level. She explains who Phillip and Winnie are. Nick agrees to help her with trying to make them jealous. As Nick is on the rich upper side as Winnie and Phillip are, Nick knows who they are and they all usually go to the same social functions. Nick makes sure Cori has all the right dresses and looks for all the events.
But, what happens when everything seems to be getting to cozy for comfort? Will Cori push him away as she isn’t use to getting close to people?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. In exchange I am freely leaving a review.
Liar is a wonderfully written book. We have a little bit of mystery and little bit of romance, great characters and best of all we have some humor.
Cori basically is living life as a facade. From her transportation, her name to her knock off designer clothes/shoes. (I have lived her life. I can’t tell you how many ‘knock off’s’ I have found had garage sales and consignment shops).
She runs into her ex-fiance, Phillip and her former friend/college roommate, Winnie at an event/fund raiser. Feeling a little desperate she grabs hold of a stranger walking by and acts like he’s her fiance. The hilarity of the moment is that the stranger plays along.
The stranger, Dominick (Nick) Blackthorne turns out to be her boss, that she has never met. There are several interesting moments in this book while these two play at being a couple.
Before long you’re trying to figure out if they are ‘playing’ or if this turning into a reality they both want. I love the way that Nick basically is playing Prince Charming and has granted every wish a lady could want or even hope for.
I love the way Stephanie writes she has a way of pulling the reader into the book that make you feel like you are part of the story. I actually felt like I was one of the bystanders when Cori give Winnie doses of reality.
Cori and Nick…I laughed and cried and laughed some more. When a lie turns into more lies just to prove a point to her former fiance and former best friend, how do Nick and Cori finally get to the truth? Do they really love each other or is it another lie? Get yourself a white mocha and read, read, read. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. How do I find friends like Tony, James, and Devina? Thank you, SSK! I look forward to more books from you. I need to get tacos now…
OMG! What a fabulous, funny, make your heart go pitter patter love story! I just fell in love with Cori and Nick, the chemistry, the laughs, my tears at the end make for such enjoyable read! Stephanie you did again, writing another wonderful book!
Loved Cori Dash. She knows how to make it till she makes it. A fun read
I think by far this is the best book I have read in a long time. It is so down to earth and things that really happen that it is worth taking the time to read. You are missing out on the best thing in life if you don’t read this book.
Imperfect Love: Liar is another great story with great characters by Stephanie St. Klaire. Cori is hiding away after being cheated on by her finacee and her best friend, she works, works and more work. She runs into her fiancée and best friend at a park and grabs a total stranger and introduces him has her boyfriend. What Cori doesn’t know is that total stranger is her boss Nick. Nick knows who Cori is and agrees to play along because he doesn’t like her ex fiancée and her ex best friend. When Cori realizes Nick knows them and what they stand for she wonders if it is a good idea to continue but Nick wants to continue but what Cori doesn’t realize is that Nick wants her for himself. Will Cori give nick the chance to prove that what they have isn’t based on lies? Loved this story. Hope Stephanie has more like this one to come. (less)
Cori and Nick’s story left me wiping tears from my face I laughed so hard. Lies are not meant to be funny but these two are freaking hilarious. Love the characters hopefully more books are wrote on these two. A definite must read that you’ll fly through with delight
