I met Luna Marshall when I was seventeen. She was a force of nature that I wasn’t ready for.She was gravity and I was caught in her pull.Powerless while she held me in a world I was desperate to escape. They say you never forget your first love.I believe they’re right.I’ll always remember the sound of her laughter. The way she whispered my name when I touched her, and the taste of her on my lips.… when I touched her, and the taste of her on my lips.
I’ll remember everything.
Including the look of pain as I walked away.
Letting You Go is Book one in the new romantic suspense series Stone Lake. It will continue and conclude with Book 2 When You Were Mine.

“Trust me, Luna. The moon may have a gravitational pull that controls the ocean, but your pull is just as strong.”
I was so excited to read this story when I learned it featured Gavin. I met him while reading Diesel/Rory and was so intrigued by his character. I sensed a painful past and wanted to know the details. Now, I know the details. Now, my heart is broken, because of… letting you go.
In case you aren’t already aware, this is just the beginning. The author took me back to high school and introduced me to Gavin and Luna when they were just crushing on each other, before they fell in love. Because I was present during ‘the fall’ I feel even more invested in their story. Because the story is told in dual POV, I know more than each of them do about each other. What a position to be in when I love them both. I want to throw some magical rainbow dust at them and make it all better.
Jordan Marie, you are an evil woman. You pulled me in and then left me rocking in the corner as I wait for more. You made me feel and connect with Gavin and Luna. You also made me rage and hate some others, who shall remain unnamed but cursed. I’m so excited to get my hands on When You Were Mine and all I can say is she better damn well become his again! But, if not… I’ll take him. The line forms here…
This is the first story of Luna and Gavin’s duet story and it was such an emotional, sexy, suspenseful, heartfelt and heartbreaking riddled love story. I’ve been waiting for this read for a while and it didn’t disappoint at all, well it does end on a MAJOR cliffhanger and I’m super anxious for the conclusion to these two people who were clearly meant to be together get their well-deserved happy ending <3 <3
I have to say that I don’t really like young adult books, but I was very pleasantly surprised by LETTING YOU GO. This isn’t all about youth, but more about the background of the story of two very memorable characters and why they made the decisions that they did. And I really liked that. With most books you get a glossed over history, but not this one. It was all history and it was a GREAT read!
Luna and Gavin’s story is not one of happiness and light. It is pain and suffering and hard decisions. It is putting others ahead of yourself, and secrets and lies. Deception occurs, which is really bad due to the age of the characters, but goes to show just who the characters really are and what makes them tick.
Overall, I was totally and utterly surprised and impressed with this story. It was an amazing introduction to what I am sure is going to be a freaking awesome part 2! I cannot wait to find out just how the characters turn out and the decisions that they had to make in between. So, two big thumbs up from me and happy reading!!
Jordan Marie has completely outdone herself with this book. I’ll be honest, I went into a little nervous because typically I’m not a fan of stories about such a young couple. But I’ve read every single one of Jordan’s books, and I know that this is one author who surprises me with her storytelling at every turn. I trust her to take me where I want to go, because she has consistently done it time and time again. So in I went, and I was not disappointed.
If you’ve read Diesel and Rory by Jordan Marie, you’ve met the hero, Gavin. This story, however, is unlike any other story she’s ever written. I don’t want to give too much away, but we Jordan takes readers back in time to give them a glimpse into this man’s history. Gavin and Luna’s story is bursting with those young love, butterflies-in-your-tummy feels, but Jordan turned this story on its head with an intriguing suspenseful plot.
Engrossing and consuming, I couldn’t get enough of Gavin and Luna’s sweet romance. I’m literally on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book and the completion of their love story. Five smooches from me for Letting You Go by Jordan Marie!

This is the first book in a new series, and what a phenomenal read this is! This talented author had done a brilliant job in penning this masterpiece, as the story is different from her usual style. Luna and Gavin’s story is an emotional roller coaster journey from beginning to end. No spoilers; this is an absolute must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written story which is filled with angst, drama, mystery, suspense, heartbreak, romance and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read the second part of this story. I highly recommend this for all readers.
There are books that suck you in heart and soul….leaves such a lasting impression on you that you’re unsure how you could let go and move onto the next book you want to read. This is how their story made me feel. This is a different kind of book that we are used to from this author but she absolutely nails it. I was hooked from beginning to end….I fell in love with Gavin and Luna and their story. I was in their corner from the very beginning rooting for them. I laughed, swooned, and ugly cried a lot lol.
There are so many questions that are left unanswered after finishing their book and I can’t wait for the next part of their story. I am so invested in their love story and I can’t wait to read the conclusion….asap lol!!! I will be waiting not so patiently in the corner for their HEA cause they need it and so do I lol!! Another fantastic story from the very talented Jordan Marie….well done!!!
Even though he is still in high school, Gavin knows that as soon as he can get out of Stone Lake he will leave and never look back. That’s one of the reasons that he just watches Luna from a distance, never making his move, never talking to her, but totally aware of her every move. Luna knows that Gavin watches and always wonders why he never says anything or makes that first move, maybe he doesn’t want her and is just a creeper, who knows? Until that one night when Gavin does make that first move, it changes the course of everything. Can the boy from the wrong side of the tracks and the rich girl even make it in the end? Or are they destined for failure?
Holy cow batman! This was such a good read! I will admit I have not read Diesel or Rory, but from what I understand that is where everyone meets grown up Gavin. This is the first of two books, and starts with them in high school and gives us the beginning of Gavin’s story. This had some serious drama, danger, violence, some really good naughty bits, and gives us mystery. I read this in one sitting and am now eagerly waiting for book two. I need to see how this ends! I give this 5 stars.
Wow so many different things I can say about this one. First the ending I wanted to throw my kindle. Cliff hanger huge huge cliff hanger and holy cow did it not make me happy. I definitely did not see that coming. Luna is the girl every one wants. But Luna only wants one person Gavin. Their relationship is quite the ride. But one I definitely loved being on with them. I loved the suspense in this book regarding the girls and the roses. Shocked what goes down between Gavin and his brother. This book was gripping from beginning to very end. Suspense twists turns tears this storyline has it all. Patiently not patiently waiting for the next one. I have to know what happens between Gavin and Luna. Highly recommend this one. A great storyline with amazing characters who have amazing chemistry.
There are those books that just grab you and don’t let go, ya know? The ones that you can’t stop thinking about. Well, I’m here to tell you this is one of those! And as I sit here, trying to write this review, it just keeps pulling at me. But here goes…
First, I want to say this is not my usual kind of book. I NEVER read teen love stories! And I hate cliffhangers!!! BUT this is Jordan Marie!!! And I will read ANYTHING she writes!!! I love her words!!! And this book is no different! GAH!!! I love this story and I hate it!!! I need the rest of it NOW!!!
Gavin and Luna own my heart! This story threw me back a lot of years to all the angst that we all feel as teenagers! Their love is so beautiful, and so heartbreaking! It totally had me on the edge of my seat through most of the book! There are some pretty big events that happen and I just wanted to scream at the characters a few times. Well, maybe more than a few!!! And I SO freaking need the rest of this story!!!
Jordan Marie, I love you but right now, I REALLY hate you!!! WOW!!! That was one hell of a book!!!!
Jordan Marie is an amazing author who can write anything and pull me into everything she writes and this is no different! Luna and Gavin’s story is absolutely amazing! Once I started I couldn’t put this book down!!
I fell in love with Gavin when we first met him in a previous book. I had to know his story!
I can’t wait for the conclusion of Gavin and Luna’s story! Hopefully we won’t have to wait to long. I’m so in love with these characters and they need a happily ever after even if it’s not with each other. I might cry if they don’t end up together but they deserve to be happy .
This book was an emotional, suspenseful and captivating start to a new series.
I loved reading this different style from Jordan, it just goes to show her versatility as an Author.
I absolutely loved Gavin and Luna two young people who only want to be together have to face so much hostility it seems like the universe is against them.
This book had everything I love. All the Angst, drama, romance and mystery kept me glued to the pages. There were characters I fell in love with and characters I wanted to throat punch. I need to feel a bit of anger when I read if a story gets under my skin and drives me crazy for whatever reason that’s a job well done.
For this entire story I felt like my world was spinning and I couldn’t catch my breath. There are so many secrets and unresolved issues, I won’t be able to rest until I get to read When you were mine. ( Book 2) I’m equal parts terrified and excited to see what happens next.
Fingers crossed there’s a lot more to come from the Stone Lake series.
First and foremost, I really enjoyed Letting You Go by Jordan Marie. This is the first book I’ve read from her and I’m genuinely excited to read more. I do want to mention though that this book cover is deceiving. When you look at it, you see adults, but this is NOT an adult romance. This is a young adult high school romance. Had I known this prior to reading it I most likely wouldn’t have read it because I was looking for a small town, adult romance. Either way though, I’m glad I did despite it being different than I thought because this book is so good. Another thing that should be mentioned for potential readers is that this book is NOT a standalone and there is a major cliffhanger at the end. Again, had I known this I more than likely would have skipped it because that wasn’t what I wanted but I enjoyed the heck out of it anyway. I just wanted other readers to know this before buying it and expecting one type of book and getting something completely different.
Gavin and Luna are absolutely magical together. Jordan Marie made their relationship (despite the many hardships) feel so authentic that they came alive through the pages. I wish these two could have had an easy go at first love, but their relationship was anything but this. These two had everything stacked against them and there were so many times I wanted to scream and cry because of all the crap being thrown their way.
Gavin is a boy on the wrong side of the tracks. He has an alcoholic for a father and people seem to think Gavin is going to be the same way. For this reason, Luna’s father and mother won’t let her have anything to do with him.
Luna comes from money, but she doesn’t care how different her, and Gavin’s world are. All she cares about is the chemistry and love between them. Unfortunately, the world wants to keep them apart. First, it’s Gavin’s brother Atticus who is borderline psycho and makes Gavin seem like a bad seed. Then it’s a murderer who starts killing girls with a rose calling card. Could things get worse for these two? They sure can and Jordan Marie packs punch after punch.
Readers will have to wait and see what becomes of Gavin and Luna in the next novel, When You Were Mine. I’m sure the road will be bumpy, but I have high hopes for these two! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I loved this book about Gavin and Luna. It was different than anything else that Jordan Marie has written. Gavin and Luna’s love story was so real and pure even though it was in a romance novel.
It has its highs and lows and keeps you on the edge of your seat with all the back stabbing. I highly recommend it but it is a cliffhanger and has another book coming to finish it off in June. By Kristina
Gavin and Luna will leave you an emotional wreck. This is a captivating, page turning sexy love story. Oh and did I mention tear jerkier. I was a hot mess while reading this book, but I couldn’t put it down. This is romance at it’s finest. The attention to detail shows this book was a labor of love. I absolutely can’t wait for book 2, it’s told in different points of view, no cheating, but does end in a cliffhanger. I highly recommend this book.
Absolutely loved this book. It has All the FEELS we expect from our favorite author. It captivated me from the beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat with its twists and turns. Absolutely loved the characters and you will fall in love. The connection and chemistry is sizzling and steamy. I’m enjoying Luna and Gavin’s journey and can’t wait to read more. A must read!
Oh my god, this book left me on pins and needles!!
This was definitely a great, great young adult book that left me completely enthralled. I swear, I was sitting down and almost fell off my chair when I got to the end because that was definitely not the ending I was expecting!!
Luna is the perfect girl, the perfect daughter who gets excellent grades and has never, ever gone out on a date with any of the boys in school that has asked her out because she always had her eye on a particular guy but thought that he didn’t reciprocate the same feelings. Little did she know that Gavin also liked her but thought that he didn’t have a chance in hell with her.
When they finally start talking and they both reveal how they feel about each other, they have to start dating in secret because no one will accept their relationship, especially not her parents. She comes from a wealthy family and he comes from a poor family with an alcoholic father who does nothing but beat him and his brother up.
Gavin pretty much has no one because his father hates him and so does his brother. He doesn’t get along with neither one. Their mother took off when they were small. So Gavin only has Luna and Luna will walk over coals for Gavin.
When Gavin gives Luna an ultimatum she has to decide if leaving with him is the right thing to do or will she just jeopardize his life!!!
Oh my, I don’t even know how to explain how this book left me because AGAIN, I was in pin and needles when I got to the last page and was still trying to make my kindle keep going because I wasn’t done with Gavin and Luna.
This totally got me by surprise because the events that happened were not what I was expecting and I love when a book gives me these types of surprises.
One read that will definitely go on my top 2019 reads!!
I absolutely devoured this book!! I was in a book slump and this pumped me up.
How many times do we get to go back as far as a first love, only to come forward years later and learn how two people can hold onto love for so long. Gavin and Luna are a young couple fighting the world that’s against them to stay together. This is so well written and moves so fast that before you know it you’re waiting for part two to blow you’re mind. I will say that Letting You Go does not end in an HEA but you know somehow, someway, Ms. Jordan will not leaves us or Gavin and Luna floating on a dead sea for too long. At least I hope and pray she doesn’t. *wink wink* Letting You Go is not an easy one to let go of, so let’s hang on together to find out what happens next.
A new, emotional romance from Jordan Marie!
I freaking adored this story. Jordan delivers with Gavin and Luna our two leads. Young love at its absolute best. The path to their journey was a few years in the making but god she nailed it.
Luna Marshall has secretly been in love with Gavin for what seems like forever. Shes known as the ice queen at school. Forever turning down dates because there’s only one boy she wants. And that’s Gavin.
Gavin doesn’t have the best home life. An abusive father who takes pleasure in the bottle and beating his sons. His brother Atticus is a piece of work. Jealously courses through his veins. He resents Gavin and isn’t afraid to show it.
Luna is the one thing that’s good in Gavin’s life, even if it’s watching her from afar. He’s been gone for this girl from the moment he laid eyes on her. But his brother Atticus also wants Luna. Gavin though will not let that happen.
When Gavin finally makes his move I swear I melted. This man simply adores her. But when rumours are spread at school and it appears that Gavin started them she is heartbroken. Enter the asshole brother who will do anything to destroy his brothers happiness.
It’s months later that Gavin and Luna get their second chance. Their romance is kept hidden, only her best friend Jules knows and though she’s unsure of Gavin’s intentions at first she finally comes around when she sees that this boy would do anything for her friend.
Not everyone is happy. Luna’s father doesn’t want Gavin near his daughter, keeping her on lock down she’s left with no choice but to sneak around. Gavin’s only dream is to leave this town and the memories it holds and he wants Luna by his side when it does.
But it all comes crashing down spectacularly when Gavin is accused of something he didn’t do. When all Hope seems to be lost, it’s Luna and her statement that clears him. That and the belief of an FBI Agent who believes in Gavin’s innocence.
When the agent offers Gavin a chance to leave town start over and start pursuing his dreams Gavin thinks it’s all going to be fine. Luna and him will finally be together.
Lies, hate and accusations and anger though will tear them apart. You are in for a cliffhanger but I seriously didn’t care. I just loved this story. The development and engagement with the characters has me invested. I can’t rate this enough.
