Heartfelt story with widowed single mom Cleo and single dad Charlie who meet and do not hit it off but love happens when you least expect it. Loved the story and the second chance at love for Cleo and Charlie but also for Harris (Cleos son) and Grace (Charlies daughter) to have a family. Well written holiday story and great characters.

This story was a great read. Cleo has a son and is widowed. Charlie has a daughter he only recently found out about becuase her mother passes away. He came back home because his father is ill. They meet through their kids not in a great way either. The writing was wonderful and the story told in a very sweet and emotional way. I could feel each character’s emotions. Can’t wait to see who is next in this series.

This was a sweet, clean romance – just the kind I like. The story was also true to life and the characters were so real. I could visualize the incident in the ice cream store between Chloe’s son and Charlie’s daughter, and I laughed. Talk about starting off on the wrong foot. This book is so realistic, showing people at their worst, at their best, and everywhere in between. There is humor as well as deep thought. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. It was a real pleasure to read a book that didn’t have spelling and grammar errors.

What a wonderful story at Christmas I loved the characters and drama that occurs with two six years olds meet at an ice cream counter. It has humor and sadness. I was given a ARC of this book and I highly recommend reading this book.
Cleo and her son have an unexpected meeting at the ice cream shop with Charlie and his daughter Grace, when Charlie cuts in front of them in line, resulting in Cleo’s son making remarks about it (and Grace’s poor choice of ice cream flavors, in his opinion), and Grace landing her ice cream cone in his face! Words (and sparks!) flew between the parents, resulting in hurt feelings and anger all around. As time went on apologies were made and things were mended. Even though there was an attraction between Charlie and Cleo, it was a bumpy road for them with Cleo’s fear of relationships after losing her husband. Will they get over all the hurdles and make it to their HEA?

This is a fun, light, uplifting read. Perfect for this time of year and anytime really. I like to read all genres, non-fiction, fiction, serious, funny … etc. But I always seem to come back to the light romance and chick lit type books most often. I like to read to take me away from the hustle and bustle and oftentimes depressing news of today’s world. This book did that for me! I could imagine the town and the main characters being my friends. They were believable and well rounded.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 whole stars is because it wasn’t a totally original plot. But I rarely find any books that totally throw me for a loop that way. I would definitely recommend!

A charming story of a widow & a widower coming together through their young children…
Will they have a second chance of finding a way to love again? A poignant but charming story which I couldn’t put down. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
This author is one of my favorites because she always writes such great stories.
This novel has it all, remarkable characters, and a plot to keep you reading until then end.
You are always wanting more.
This is definitely a 5-star book.
Charlie sat at the head of the bed, holding his father’s hand as his father started at his 6-year-old granddaughter. Charlie had just found out about his daughter a few months ago. Charlie travelled extensively and wanted to come home successful to make his parents proud. He had done that, it was at the expense of the time he could have spent with his father who was now dying.
Cleo and Charlie dealt with life changing events in their lives, but it was almost like Fate introducing them in an ice cream shop where their young children engaged in a messy fight. Cleo was grieving over the death of her husband Tanner in Afghanistan, feeling she betrayed him just by continuing to be alive and feeling unworthy of happiness. Charlie was grieving over his loving father he had let travel take him from and not spent time with him when he could have. Both had guilt tearing them up. With drama, twists and turns, their children, as most children do, turned from being “ice cream enemies” to forever friends. Could something similar happen with their parents and provide them with a deserving HEA?
Wonderful characters and a good story line take the reader through dealing with grief and letting go to move on for someone else. Grab your copy and see if Cleo and Charlie can allow healing to turn their lives around for themselves and their children.
Charlie didn’t know he had a daughter until her mother died, and he’s still trying to figure out this fatherhood thing. It’s bittersweet to bring Grace home to meet her new grandparents; his father is dying of cancer. Cleo’s husband was killed in Afghanistan. She moves to Pecan Grove to start over, but she’s stuck in a dead end job with no other prospects. After all the hurt after Tanner’s death, she’s not sure she can put her heart out there again. The two families meet in the ice cream shop, and it’s not pretty. They can’t avoid each other entirely – this is a small town – and when their children become friends, they have to figure it out. This is such a beautiful and heartwarming story. Cleo and Charlie have so much in common, and are really nice together, once they quit being mad at each. The children are absolutely adorable – smart and precocious, and scene-stealers. I’ve read several book in this series, and have loved them all.

This is a clean sweet romance. Cleo and Charlie are both widows. Cleo has a small son and Charlie has a small daughter. Will Charlie and Cleo be able to get over their past and have a future?

What better way for a love story to begin than with a food fight. Cleo and Charlie’s fateful encounter happens in an ice cream shop and the story couldn’t get much sweeter than the very same food that their kids are fighting with. Cleo has suffered the heartbreaking loss of her husband when he was deployed to Afghanistan and Charlie found out about the daughter he never knew existed when the little girl’s mother died. Both Charlie and Cleo must work through their own struggles before they can come together to make the beautiful HEA that we all hope for. I loved that this story was a clean, sweet love story. Great job Natasha Queen!!!

This was a well written book. The story line the characters made it the story that it is. And at Christmas. You cannot help by like it.
The author continues to bring us characters we can connect with. Trying to move on from your past is difficult, but if you open your heart and mind anything is possible.

I laughed at the first meeting of Cleo and Charlie’s children when her son Harris insulted his daughter Grace’s ice cream and she smashed it in his face. Those two spar several other times before calling a true. But I can only imagine the mischief they’ll get into. Charlie made a few mistakes like sending Grace to school with peanut butter sandwiches and sardines, but he was pretty good for a first time didn’t know he had a daughter dad. Megan makes a few appearances in this book and she was a riot and shows that women power is still strong even when you work for sexist employers. This was a clean romance with many funny and some scary and sad moments.
Cleo lost her husband in Afghanistan and she’s decided that she will never love again. It hurts too much. She moves to Pecan Grove with her young son. Charlie Evans meets Cleo and her son at the ice cream store. When Charlie’s daughter Grace cuts in front of Cloe and Harris to order ice cream all chaos breaks loose. This is a fun Christmas story. Charlie and Cleo have lots to overcome with their situations but it’s a great ride. I really liked this story even with it being a clean romance. My first book from this author. I’ll check out a few more. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lovely book. Romantic, family, Christmas spirit. I found it quite hard to get into the book at first, but once I got past the introduction and delved into the book, I found that I couldn’t put it down. The relationship and reaction between Charlie and Chloe were interesting. As well as the behaviour of both children towards each other. It was a good read, sad with the loss but that’s true life. I would definitely recommend it as a Christmas read.
Charlie’s a single father, who has returned to town with his daughter to stay with his dying dad. Cleo’s a single mother and widow, finding life difficult now. An explosive confrontation at the ice cream shop has them meeting for a horrible (although, amusing) first impression. Letting Go This Christmas is a heartwarming holiday story I recommend.
