I met Brock Callahan at eleven, fell in love at fifteen and lost him at eighteen. One moment, one single instance can change the course of your life, but I picked myself up, brushed myself off, and took that first step knowing it would be the hardest.Years later, tired of existing but not living, I quit my job in Manhattan, sold my condo and moved to a log cabin in Wyoming. When I wake in the bed … wake in the bed of Killian Reid, mistaken for a one-night stand, I never imagined I’d fall for the man.
But I did.
Not at first; a slow fall, so gradual I didn’t realize I was no longer falling. I’d been given a second chance at a happily ever after.
And then Brock Callahan walks back into my life.
NOTE: This is not a love triangle. It’s a second chance romance with a twist.

Cedar wanders into the woods out of curiosity and winds up finding a broken boy named Brock in dire need of a friend. Her sweet soul healing his damaged and hateful one almost instantly… she was the calm to his chaotic world. They formed this unbreakable connection, to the point that as they aged, the more fused to one another they became, it was as if they were meant be. But then tragedy drove them apart and in an instant Brock was gone from her life!
She has tried to forget him, move on with someone else, but he is always there just under the surface reminding her that he held her heart first, and continues to do so. She knows there is no way she will every be ready to let him go, but Killian and her could have something real, something worth holding onto. And just when she is ready to give it an honest try her past comes back around…
Letting Go is a beautifully penned story of love, friendship, chasing dreams, and second chances. This story follows Cedar and her first love Brock on their heartbreaking journey, from the first day they met as children to their lives as adults now. It isn’t a pretty journey, Brock comes from a broken home and has a lot of demons, and ultimately those things are the reason these two go their separate ways. My heart broke for these two, coming so close to having everything they wanted, then having to part because of unshakable demons. This isn’t your typical love story it’s messy, dramatic, and bound to have you in tears more than it will have you smiling… but believe me it is all worth it in the end! This was an impressive first read, it pages held surprises, drama, love, suspense, and a few touching moments that will stick with you long after the last page is swiped. I highly recommend this one, it’s a journey that will wreck your heart, but it’s totally worth every tear and ounce of pain!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
5+ Stars
This story took my breath away. I am hopelessly in love with this book and the story had me from page one. I had to walk away to gather my feelings a few times; just to brace myself for the onslaught of emotions for these characters. What a fantastically written, emotional story about moving on and accepting that you have to let go… no matter how hard that is.
Cedar is an amazing character. She’s strong and out-going as a child and has her own style and personality. She is so kind and fights for those who need it. She meets Brock and I just love these two together. She’s his saviour. Then he disappears after a catastrophic incident and Cedar’s life is changed beyond recognition. Fifteen years later Cedar moves from New York to Wyoming and meets Killian.
Killian is a moody, broody, quietly sexy man. He very slowly helps Cedar mend. I fell in love with their relationship and the small town they live in. Cedar’s past is never far behind and when Brock returns my heart absolutely breaks again.
The plot twists and thickens by the page. I would make this book a priority for any readers, it has everything from love, heartbreak and laughter to action, fear and suspense.
I don’t have the words to say how much I adored Letting Go, I could never find the words to to do justice to this book!! Cedar meets Brock at 11 years old, falls in love with him when she is 15, and her world is shattered at 18. Some 15 years later, she decides to give everything up and start over in a new place, that new place is a small sleepy town in rural Wyoming where she finds everything she’s always dreamed about. She also meets Killian, who she doesn’t like at first, those feelings change and she likes the way he makes her feel. She thinks about Brock a lot and misses him terribly, there are also things happening that are making her think about the past. Is the past going to interfere with her future…will she go all in with Killian? Y’all really need to read this amazing story and find out what happens!!
Letting Go is about a girl who beats the odds and makes her dreams come true.
Cedar Walker had a great life up until she was 18 years old. She lost everyone that she cared about because of one person’s actions. Even with this happening she is able to pull herself together as best as she can and make her life the best she can. She eventually gives up what she has in New York and moves to Wyoming to get the cabin she always dreamed of.
Brock is the one that got away. He and Cedar were best friends. However, Brock did not have and easy life. As he grows older the boy Cedar knew is hidden under a very hard outer layer. The life he ends up having is not the one that he thought he would have but under the circumstance it was the best he could get.
Killian is the local sheriff of the small town that Cedar moves to. When they first meet it is not the best circumstances and the situation is not interrupted correctly. Killian starts to bring the old Cedar back to life and he also sees under the new life she has constructed.
When the past starts to come back for Ceadar who will save her the local sheriff or the bad boy from her past?
This story was not what I expected however, either way it was great. It was a heartbreaking tragedy that left scars but int the end each character found peace and where they were suppose to be in life.
I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book ! This was classic L A Fiore ! A story filled with love and emotion, characters that just capture you and draw you into their lives , and enough trouble and danger to make you not want to put it down ! I didn’t want it to end. Loved it !
Emotional and Powerful are how I would describe this book. L.A. Fiore’s always seems to write some of the most beautiful stories.
My heart won’t let go of Letting Go!! I loved it.
When reading, I thought I knew exactly how Brock and Cedars story was going to go….well I was so wrong and I LOVED that about this book. L.A. Fiore threw several twists I did not see coming.
One twist was Killian. Who was is? What was he up to? I was not expecting things to go down the way they did but it was awesome.
Letting Go has so many elements I love in my books. There’s romance, steamy sexy times, suspense with the perfect amount of mystery.
I also loved the side characters!! They were an added bonus that made me squeal.
I would definitely recommend this book!
This story exceed my expectations, by far. This happens often with L.A. Fiore. I love her writing. Letting Go is a wonderful story. Cedar is a beautiful soul, caring, strong, and resilient. Brock is a broken soul, a dark angel. Killian is the local sheriff at the small town Little Hill. He is handsome, caring and protective. I am always truly inclined to love more the dark character, than the sweet one. Not this time. Or maybe not completely. Killian is my favorite character. He is intriguing, solid, caring and protective. The storyling is intriguing, filled with mystery, secrets, suspense, and unpredictable twists and turns. This isn’t a triangle, but this is definitely two stories that collide together. The conclusion is wonderful. The cast of supporting characters is impressive, and at some point, there are some characters from another book that make an appearance. Now, I need a second book in the Series, or a spin-off, anything to not Letting Go these characters. I need a closure with all of them. I enjoyed it, and I HIGHLY recommend it.
This story will pull you in from the very beginning and not let you go until the very end. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would give it 10, it’s just that good. There is so much drama, heartbreak, happiness and some turns you won’t see coming. I love this author’s style of writing, you get pulled in and before you know it the end is near. I just don’t know what else to say without giving away the story line, to tell you how much I loved this book.
“One moment, one single instance had the ability to change the course of your life, but you had to pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and, even being on unsteady legs, you had to take that first step because that step was the hardest.” ~ Cedar
Cedar and Brock were bound to one another from an early age but for some couples the “happily ever after” was just a well timed pipe dream. Outside forces created the perfect storm that tore the two apart and now Cedar has to create a life dependent upon herself. When that life culminates in a small town in Wyoming, Cedar begins to break out of the shell she created around herself. Possibly, the sexy sheriff, Killian is the catalyst of her metamorphosis. Cedar’s future will rely on her past and her future merging to solve the mystery of all of the heartache and guilt of her youth. Somehow she has to have the strength to “let go”.
This was an absorbing, fast read that had me captivated from beginning to end. The characters are well developed and complex. The highs and lows kept me engaged and turning the pages to read more.
No need to be nervous. No reason to feel like you’re being pulled in two separate directions.
I was wary. Its been forever since I read LA Fiore and I was worried I picked the wrong book to start again- I had no reason to worry. Letting Go is truly what this book is about. Letting Go of pain, loss, and finding everything you weren’t looking for.
It’s a beautiful story of love when life hasn’t been so kind. Cedar is a light shining in the darkness. It’s just so dark where she’s been she didn’t realize she was still shining.
With an unforgettable meeting, it’s absolutely entertaining to see how these two become relationship goals. It is also heartwarming to see the past is alive but doesn’t detract from their story. In fact, their visitor adds to their story. I just hope he and few others get their HEA too.
5 fantastic stars!! This is another book going straight to my favorites list!!
This book starts with two best friends. Life takes them in different paths but they end up back to each other, only to be separated again. At this point they know they are each other’s true love. But life doesn’t always work as you planned…
First of all I am in love with this author. She did so much right in this book that I know my review will not do this book justice. So let me just try.
Brock is an amazing male lead to start this journey. Cedar, a strong, resilient, doesn’t color between the lines female lead character. From the first chapter I was obsessed. As the book went on we met so many others that made this story phenomenal. Killian had me eating out of his palm quickly. And Liam he still had me curious (is he maybe getting a book?!?!?!). But the love for these men from Cedar is amazing. No there is not love triangle just a pure love for friends and lovers. Amazing.
Now this is why I am in love with this author. There were many twists in this book and a lot of them usually in any other book would have made these characters divide. For example, the lead male character hiding something from female love interest to keep from hurting her. Then she finds out. Now in most books the female gets angry or hurt and there is always some type of fall out. Never did that happen. This was a strong and real lead female character who didn’t play games. She understood and embraced. Even sympathized with the other character. This happened many times. I was waiting for an irrational explosion and never once got one. That drew me to this book sooo hard.
Did I mention some of the hotties from the “Lost Boys” series decided to show up. I was super excited for Damian, Thea and Anton plus others!!
If you can’t tell I absolutely LOVED this book!! The author is phenomenal and her characters jump off the page. This is a MUST read book of 2020!!
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
So amazing!
Classic L.A. Fiore, Letting Go is the perfect mix of emotion, steam and suspense. She’s right, happily ever after is better when its earned!
I loved Cedar’s evolution from the 11 year old who shared her cake with a sad little boy to the strong woman who overcame everything thrown at her to find her happy.
Brock was everything Cedar needed when she was that quirky kid. I’m glad hecan still be a part of her life and I hope he finds his happy!
Killian he was the perfect man for Cedar once she was ready to start living again. The way he instinctively knew how best to take care of her, sharing his family with her since she lost hers. I love them together!
I loved everything about this story, especially the little catch up we got with Damien, Thea, Anton and the Lost Boys gang! I love crossovers like that.
It’d be amazing if there were more books set in this world, I’d love for Brock, Liam and Sebastian to find their HEA.

What an AMAZING story!!!
Letting Go by L.A. Fiore was another top notch story. Her books always just suck me in and I never know what I am in for, but in the end I know no matter what she puts my heart through, it will be healed in the end!!!
This story was no different. I was nervous to read this book because love triangles are a hard limit for me, so when I was told that this was NOT a triangle but a second chance romance with a twist, I gave it a shot and trusted she wouldn’t lead me astray. And she didn’t…..I am so glad I read this book.
This was such a unique story and romance. I can’t really say a whole lot about the story because this is a book that definitely needs to reveal itself to all readers. Go into this story blind, you won’t regret it.
What I can say about this storyline is, that I was totally happy with how this story turned out and how it all played out, but I can say that I fell in love with Cedar, Killian and Brock….I would’ve been just as happy had this story played out completely different.
Another thing I will say is that this is NOT a love triangle. The heroine is NEVER torn between her feelings for two men, so don’t let the blurb of this book scare you into not reading it. I would actually consider this more of a second chance AT love then a second chance romance. To me those are two completely different tropes and storylines. I expect different endings when reading these two types of books. I know I am kind of rambling here and probably not making a lot of sense, but once you read this book you will totally understand.
I don’t believe my reviews ever do justice to L.A. Fiore’s books. Her books are so well written. Her love stories are poignant and epic….she gives us stories like no other. The flow and pace of her stories is always spot on. The characters she gives us are amazing and you can’t help but fall in love and root for each one of them.
Trust me… if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading a book by L.A. Fiore, then you need to start NOW!!!! You won’t be sorry and Letting Go is the perfect place to start.
