Molly Alcott didn¿t expect to open her mailbox one summer morning and find an old letter stuffed between bills and a supermarket flyer. Penned in familiar handwriting, dated over fifteen years ago, the letter was written to Molly after her first date with the man she¿ll never forget.
Week after week, new letters appear. Each marks an event in the history of their epic love affair. Each heals a … Each heals a wound. Each holds the confession of the man who still owns Molly¿s heart.
The letters are full of promise, hope and love, but truth be told, Molly wishes she could unread them all.
Because the man who wrote these letters is not the one sending them.

I loved them in The Birthday list and always wondered why. This was gut wrenching and was like having therapy. This was approached in a different way than I thought and I loved it. Well done!!!
A second chance romance with ALL THE FEELS! Marriage is hard. This story is an honest depiction of a marriage that fell apart and the damage it left behind.
Molly is independent and brave. After her marriage ended, she took on life as a single working mom like a champ. She blames herself for her failed marriage and has never forgiven herself. It’s been years and she’s alone. She’s put herself into a self-imposed isolation but she’s also lonely when her kids aren’t around. She just can’t seem to get over Finn. He’s always been the one.
Then the letters start coming. Their Finn’s words from their beginning. Words and feelings he never shared. Now she’s learning all about their relationship from a different perspective.
The letters are being sent anonymously, but they are causing dialogue between Molly and Finn. Things they never shared. Hurts that never healed.
This story is emotionally charged with the pain of betrayal and self-loathing. It’s also a story of facing the past, so that you can heal and have a future. Molly and Finn were wonderful characters that we met in the Birthday List. Their story unfolded piece-by-piece and we witnessed their pain. We learned about the separate roads they each took to bring them to where they are now. I was not a fan of Finn’s until after I heard his side of their story. It was a marriage that fell apart, but it was a love worth fighting for.
Awesome. Heartwarming. Loved this story!
‘The Birthday List’, first book in this series will always be my favorite ( cuz of Cole, mi amor ) but this story is really unique with lovely characters whose we already met in TBL & I so glad that we got their story! Molly & Finn are such interesting couple, I loved them and I cheered for them from the first page.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this. When I first read The Birthday List, I was so drawn to Molly and Finn–so very curious about them and their marriage. When that book ended, their relationship or lack thereof was left without resolution. Then, Devney Perry announced she would be writing their book, and I was itching to get my hands on it.
First off, know that you can read this without reading The Birthday List, but honestly, that book is so ridiculously good, you should just go ahead and read it if you haven’t.
Second, I have been a fan of Ms. Perry’s work since The Coppersmith Farmhouse. I have enjoyed every single one of her books and while I can’t say that this one is my favorite, (I’d never be able to choose) I will say that this book made me feel the most out of all of her books.
Anyone who’s been married more than a minute knows that it’s hard! You sometimes lose little pieces of yourself. There are things that push you apart and when you add in kids and the struggles of life, sometimes things break.
“The thing about divorce is, there isn’t always one mistake. One nuclear bomb dropped on a couple that destroys their marriage. Sometimes, it creeps up on you slowly.”
I LOVED THIS BOOK!
I felt EVERYTHING from the moment Finn and Molly met. I felt their joys and struggles. I felt their pain and happiness. I felt their fear and hopes and worries about the future…and worries about the past. I felt the uncertainty of them trying to learn how to move on and not knowing what that should look like.
“My heart can’t take another ending with you.”
There was not a page of this book where I wasn’t teary eyed. I’m not gonna lie and say that a lot of those tears weren’t due to sadness, but I found myself smiling through tears of happiness, too.
“I found the Molly without the Finn. This time around, I was holding on to her with a death grip. She was too important to lose again.”
Devney Perry has once again raised the bar. This book is about as real as it gets. It’s everything I wanted and more after The Birthday List, and truly a journey that is not to be missed.
“From now until the end of our days, Molly would get my letters”
The Birthday List was my first Devney Perry book and I was hooked! I fell a little bit in love with Poppy and the loyal group of friends and family that surrounded her as she opened herself up to living again. Two keys players were Molly and Finn.
In this companion to The Birthday List, Ms Perry fast forwards the timeline by 6 years and allows Finn and Molly a vehicle to shine a light on why their marriage failed and truly deal with the residual feelings.
I don’t want to talk too much about Letters to Molly because I don’t want to give anything away. I will say that this is a well written and emotional book. Some of the issues discussed felt very real and easy to relate to. This is honestly a book any one involved in a long term relationship should read.
The moment is finally here. I’ve wanted this book since Molly and Finn first appeared on The Birthday List! I was beyond happy to hear they would be getting their book and it was way beyond any of my expectations. I loved it so much.
Finn and Molly are both such amazing people and parents, each of them made mistakes in their marriage that lead to their downfall and ever since they have been miserable without each other. Finn tried like heck to move on but every single relationship was a failure because no woman was close to the perfection that was Molly. And Molly, she has been living for her children, getting her life back on track, finding herself again and trying to get over the guilt and the heartbreak of not being with Finn anymore. Seeing him everyday, watching him with their kids is a punch to the gut every time and it’s so hard for her, specially now that they are on good terms and are sort of friends.
This book is not easy to read. It is heartwrenching. You feel so much for these two and what they’ve been through, every letter being worst than the last and bringing with it so much emotion and pain. But at the same time, it brings back the memories good and bad and it’s so hard for Molly and Finn to remember and see exactly where they went wrong. They work through it, one letter at at time and Finn finally realises that Molly wasn’t the only one to blame for their divorce. Each of them played their part in their ending and now it’s time either let it all go or try again, this time with their all.
Letters to Molly is another Devney Perry masterpiece that just proves how amazing this woman and her brain are. Her words are perfect and her stories even more so. I loved this book to pieces, if The Birthday List had been my favorite, this one just become a second or even a runner-up.
Brilliant !!!
This book was so good. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I was so happy when I heard that this book was coming after reading The Birthday List. Molly and Finn were in the first quite a bit and I was dying to know what had gone one between them. I knew a small part from the first book but I needed more.
Things havent been easy between Molly and Finn. After 6 years being apart and getting a divorce things were getting a bit better. They could be in a room together and it wouldn’t be uncomfortable. They were both getting on with there lives well that’s what they thought. There was still chemistry between them and one night after to much wine one thing led to another and they were in a place they never thought they would be. They both knew it wasn’t goin in the right direction but it was hard to stop they were both lonely and needed someone. Why not go to the person that gave you the luv you once craved more than anything.
Things got really complicated between them when letter kept turning up in Molly’s letter box. The letters were written by Finn but we’re for him to get his thoughts out they weren’t for Molly to see. But someone was putting them there and was making them dealing with the past and the feeling they have never talked about. Things were harder between them now with them having kids and living there own lives. But it was hard to stay apart after spending more time together and the feelings that had been buried were now fighting to come out. They were both realized that they had both made mistakes throughout there marriage and divorce it was one good thing that came out of the letters they had to face what they hadn’t wanted to say.
I luvd this book they is heart breaking and shows how it’s easy to just push things aside when your heartbroken and don’t want to hurt the person you luv but you end up doin it any way. I felt so sorry for both Molly and Finn throughout this book. They have both changed so much since they first got together but there luv now was even stronger. I was so dying for them to get back together. They made such a great couple and they worked so well. They did have a lot to sort out and with every letter that came good or bad it made them face the problems. I would highly recommend this book. From the start I was addicted to the story and characters. It was great seeing the characters from the first especially Randall and Jimmy them guys still crack me up. Poppy and Cole are still great together after what they have been through so I enjoyed more of them seeing them get stronger was so good. I’m so glad the author did this book it was just what I wanted plus more even though it was heart breaking it was still beautiful.
This author has the remarkable talent of making a target out of your heart and shooting an arrow straight to it. Her books are filled with so much feeling that she wrings your heart as you read it. She portrays wonderful characters with human failings. In this book there’s an act of infidelity, which is abhorrent, and yet, we are taken to understand why it happened and learn not to be so condemning. We clamor for forgiveness and understanding.
As this book started, Molly and Finn have been divorced for six years. Although neither will admit it, we know they still love each other, but they have repressed that love, boxed it away in their hearts. They are working hard at being friends with one another for the sake of their kids. Finn moved on and has been dating. Molly dedicated herself to her kids and working with Poppy, Finn’s sister and her best friend, on developing Poppy’s restaurant, the Maysen Jar.
At one point where Finn broke up with his current girlfriend Brenna and Molly was considering starting to date her next-door neighbor, letters started to arrive at her mailbox. These letters were written by Finn (and hidden away) during the course of their marriage and they reveal his feelings about all the different situations in their marriage. Through these letters, we live with Molly and Finn through the wonderful years of their marriage, the births of their children and the denigration of their marriage. We understand what happened and why and we live and laugh and cry as they rehash and renew old feelings. Their hearts are torn asunder and put together again in this story of heartbreak and joy, same as our hearts. This author makes us understand the beauty of love and marriage and the togetherness of being a couple and how much joy it brings.
As with her other books, this story includes family and friends, some obnoxious persons, some drama and some yummy sexy times. If I were to describe Devney Perry’s book in one word it would be heartfull.
This book was wonderful I had been hoping for this story since the Birthday list and it definitely lived up to my expectations!
This story is out of the norm for most romance novels out there. I really enjoyed it because it was different and unique. I fell in love with Molly & Finn they show us that life is hard but finding your way back is worth the adventure. This is a book that will stick with you long after the last page!
Devney is Brilliant! Every new book she releases is better than the last one!
Amazing plot, characters and love story!
One of my favorites this year!
Breathtaking and beautiful are the two words I’m going to write to describe this amazing book, what a ride this author took us in, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Letters to Molly by Devney Perry is book two in her Maysen Jar Series. Every book in this series is about another couple and yes, there are cross-overs. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is The Birthday List and tells Poppy and Cole’s heart wrenching story.
Letters to Molly is Finn and Molly’s story. Both were married young, have two wonderful children but then life got in the way and both gave up, are divorced. While one of them lived his dream life, the other one sacrificed nearly everything and just like everything unbalanced is doomed to fail.
D. Perry is one of these rare authors that manages to captivate me with their heartfelt story and their beautiful but heart wrenching words, the broken characters and teists and turns I highly anticipate, every single time.
Reading one of her books is like living in another world, I never know where it will lead me, but I know it’s always a fantastic adventure that awaits me. 5++ Stars
Q: No matter how many days or months or years went by, Molly was still unforgettable.
Q: I hadn’t been the man she deserved. I hadn’t been the husband I’d promised to be. I’d let her down more times than I could remember.
I only discovered Devney Perry last year when I was able to get my hands on an ARC of The Birthday List. It was one of my favorite reads of 2018 and remains so to this day. After that, I was utterly consumed with the desire to read anything I could get my hands on by the author. Unfortunately, as a blogger, sometimes it’s hard to get the time to leisure read because my calendar stays so packed with other books–meaning my scope of books by the author is still far lower than I would like. That said, when I saw that there would be a second book in the Mayson Jar series, there was absolutely nothing going to stop me from getting my hands on a copy. And WOW, this second chance romance had me turning page after page until the early hours of the morning to finish in one sitting!!
Q: Hope was a funny thing. I’d spent six years dousing it. Stomping it out so it was well and dead. But that second letter had flared my hopes to life.
Q: I put up boundaries to keep out the ugly. I embraced the beautiful. I found the Molly without the Finn. This time around, I was holding on to her with a death grip. She was too important to lose again.
Letters to Molly absolutely left me breathless. The writing is outstanding and while the story is the second book in a series, you can read it as a true standalone. Finn and Molly’s dual POV was beautifully written and offered a story of endless love. I loved watching the pair fall back in love with one another after they’ve spent years divorced. Yet divorce doesn’t mean that the emotional attachment between Finn and Molly is dead. And as their familiarity with one another leads them to explore the good and the bad in their relationship, readers get an undeniably sweet, sensual, and sizzling romance that will suck them in and hold them captive! And it’s irrefutable that Devney wrote a very realistic, emotional journey which Finn and Molly traveled down with obstacles that made their love shine and grow—it was unique and raw. With a beautiful pace and perfect flow, Letters to Molly was unputdownable. And the range of emotions I went through while reading is a cornerstone of all the books I have read over the last year by Devney Perry. I truly can not recommend this book enough and five stars doesn’t do Letters to Molly justice. One-click immediately and get to reading!!!!
Q: Finn and I were divorced. He was happier that way. So was I. Except with his letter in my hand, it was hard not to question every day since. We’d had so much love. How did we get here? How did we get all the way from that letter to us now?
There truly isn’t enough praise in the world for Letters to Molly by Devney Perry, it grips you from the very beginning and never lets go. This isn’t an easy read but it’s one you’ll remember for years to come. You’ll laugh and cry and your heart will be broken but it will also heal along the way. This is my best read yet for 2019!
Molly Alcott is a divorced mom that is doing her best to raise her two children with the help of her ex husband Finn. These two once though they had found their forever love, they once were the fairytale that so many of us want out of life, until they weren’t, you’ll follow their journey throughout the years mostly in the form of these Letters to Molly.
I don’t want to give too much away so I truly am going to keep this one pretty short. Marriage is rough it’s something you have to work at every single day, it’s something that you will consistently have to fight for and at times you’ll be wondering where you went wrong, but there will be other times where there truly will be blinging happiness and that’s the journey Devney will talk you on in Letters to Molly.
I originally discovered Devney in her Lark Cove series and she has this ability to make me connect with her characters that I very rarely find anywhere else, her stories are magical, intimate and will leaving you want more and more each time. Devney’s stories are always perfect!

What can I say about Devney Perry aside from this isn’t my first read and if you’ve ever read her books, you know what I am talking about. Her books always leave me speechless, the romance type she writes is not only there but just…so…much…more!!!
I don’t even know how to start the review because I don’t want to give out anything and the blurb is pretty clear on a key notes…i will have to say that you should probably prepare. This isn’t you regular romance story, I was blown away at how much intrigued I was, kept me on the edge of my seat..I wanted to read faster to find out,…well I can’t tell you what but it was pure anticipation for me. You know why? Because Devney Perry is the magic woman that created imperfect characters but in such a way to have you not only like them but relate and enjoy!
Book Quote: “You’ve always been a fool over her.” “Always. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
So, this is a little different for me because the main characters are divorced but are the main characters. So, I am used to reading they just met or have known one another this case, the agony is a killer for me it was at least. THE LETTERS, so not fair, I was not ready for them and to find out the truth!! It made them more real in my head, and I related to them a lot. My poor little heart was broken the whole way, I don’t want to give out too much. but beware this is not your regular love story, these twist and turns and secrets…will have you putting the book down to contemplate life for a moment. Also helps that the author’s writing style is smooth, easy to read and intelligent. You have been warned!
A MUST READ!!

Devney Perry always blows me away with her writing. Finn and Molly’s story was so raw and emotionally heartfelt.
I don’t want to give away any spoilers. I started this book on my commute to work and found myself watching the clock during my workday waiting till I could get back to their story, and finished it that evening.
The words just flowed right off the page and into my heart.
This is a must read!
Wow another amazing story by the talented Devney Perry , this is book two in the Maysen Jar series and can be read as a standalone but I do recommend that you read the first one before you start Letters to Molly you may run into some spoilers . I have read almost every book by the author she always knows how to get her readers into the story line and fall for the characters . My heart really hurt for the couple you could just feel how much they cared about one another . There was a bit of frustration with how Molly and Finn would handle certain situations . There was no putting my kindle down when it comes to the authors books you just dive in not wanting it to end and when you do reach the words the story lingers with you . I can’t wait to read more by the author every book is a treat .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

Whoa! This book was a roller coaster of feelings. With most books I’m able to figure out the general path/ending of the story while I’m reading it, however with Letters to Molly I had no idea what to expect! I enjoyed seeing Molly come to terms with her divorce and the feelings associated with it when she got the letters. It wasn’t an easy journey, but the ending was beautiful.
Letters to Molly by Devney Perry is the second standalone contemporary romance book in her Maysen Jar series. A second chance romance that will both break and mend your heart. The story of Finn and Molly is beautiful and heartbreaking. And such a real life glance at how sometimes life just happens and even two people who are madly in love with each other just can’t always make things work. The raw honesty of emotion in this book was touching. I was often indignant at various things the characters said or did knowing how I would have felt if I had been on the receiving end but the sheer effort of trying and trying and just keeping on despite failures was a journey I enjoyed every second of. Even if some of those seconds were sad and a little teary.
Devney Perry is a MUST-READ author for me. I loved this! Enjoy!
