From a USA Today bestselling author
Burned-out software engineer Jake Martin and his Golden Retriever, Fred, live in a mountain cabin far enough from Denver to escape the rat-race but not far enough to escape its crime. While remodeling an old house he uncovers a stack of love letters that will turn his world inside out.
When word of the letters gets out, people start dying, including the owner … dying, including the owner of the house Jake was remodeling. With his main source of income gone, he lets his friend and neighbor, Bonnie Jones, talk him into searching for the killer after they are offered a large retainer. The problem is the person who hires them is the major suspect.
With the help of Fred and Bonnie, Jake continues to find more evidence that his new employer is trying to create a smokescreen to divert attention from himself. Will the trio of amateur detectives be able to stop the murders, or will they become the next victims?

Slow
A little slow to star but good story
Loved the relationships of the main characters. The neighbors and the dog. It was realistic and humorous.
There are plenty of clues but I didn’t put them all together so the ending was a real surprise. Well written and I really liked the interaction between Bonnie and Jake but Fred stole the show.
Great author would recommend any of his books
Enjoyable book. I’ve read others by the author that are also good.
This is a very well written mystery set in a small town with excellent characters. After reading the story, you think that you know them well. It has a good plot with twists and turns. I did not guess the ending.
I especially like books involving dogs and golden retrievers are one of my favorites along with Labradors. If you enjoy crimes and mysteries you will enjoy this book
stupid and childish and poorly written
It was a good easy fun to read book!
Hope there r more in this series. I enjoyed Fred’s presence!
Would love to read more books with this character.
Letters to Die For is the kind of book that leaves you feeling like you just visited a long-time friend. The characters are realistic and unpredictable and the turns and twists are interesting enough to keep you turning the pages.
This is the second book I’ve read by this author but was disappointed with this book.
Good story about taking care of one another.
Ok. Isn’t a favorite of mine.
It’s is a good second story in a series but just a little too much like the first one
I lost track of the reason the letters were important to anyone, then it seemed rushed to “wrap it up” at the end.
An ok read. I was not inspired to read the other books in the seried.
I have read other books in this series and have enjoyed all of them. But then I love Colorado and dogs.
An unlikely trio to catch a murderer but they always do it in very unconventional ways.
