There were a lot of twist and turns. but the. end was a happily ever after.
A nice change of pace.
It’s been a long while since I last read a historical romance and Letters from a Rake was just the thing to get me out of an annoying book funk.
I don’t recall ever reading anything by Sasha Cottman before and I am definitely kicking myself for it.
This book is well-written and thought out. The characters well rounded, likable, entertaining and lovable.
I really loved Millie.
The story was perfect for the mood I was in, light, romantic, a bit of drama and humor thrown in. All in all a great read.
I’m excited to read the next in the series.
I enjoyed the heroine!
It was sad That during this time period people who suffered from dyslexia were thought to be inadequate because they couldn’t read. I loved how she made him tell her the reason the letter was sent by mistake. Great book
Great plot with a good ending.
I enjoy reading the book
Couldn’t put it down highly recommend
Very enjoyable. Great read.
I don’t care for so much descriptive sex, but the characters made me laugh, and that was good,
Just good romantic story. Some twists to add to the characters.
Lord Alex of Brooke womanizer, charmer when he first meets Millie from Calcutta he can’t believe his eyes the curvaceous female with the blue eyes has enchanted him. Millie a well educated female who speaks her mind is also enchanted when meeting Alex. Alex loses control whenever he’s in the presence of Millie he just doesn’t know why. Sparks fly, feelings get hurt and mistakes made in love.
This book was well written and had a very interesting plot. The characters were well developed and I enjoyed the story!
Just too silly.
This a really good story the hero Alex has a disability that ends up getting him into big trouble with the heroine Millie that he has fallen for on first sight. Millie is a bit different from the other Ladies just before the season starts, the diologue is great and I was turning the pages on this one I highly recommend it.
Letter from a Rake by Sasha Cottman is the first book in The Duke of Strathmore series. This is the story of Millie Ashton and Alex Radley , Marquess of Brooke.
Millie was born in raised in India where her English father now chooses to help run the East India Company. But they are now back in England where Millie is seeing first hand how the English town treats people who they feel are on the ‘outside of them’. Millie does happened to me a kinder spirit named Lucy Radley. Through Lucy she meets Alex who she finds all but perfect but he makes a mistake that leads to her hurt feelings. They later make up and become friends but when he tries to send her a letter stating how he really feels it goes all wrong.
This was such a enjoyable story and a great start to a very good series.
Love at first sight
