Lethal White is the fourth book in the Cormoran Strike series from the international bestselling author Robert Galbraith.
“I seen a kid killed…He strangled it, up by the horse.”
When Billy, a troubled young man, comes to private eye Cormoran Strike’s office to ask for his help investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child, Strike is left deeply unsettled. While Billy is obviously … child, Strike is left deeply unsettled. While Billy is obviously mentally distressed, and cannot remember many concrete details, there is something sincere about him and his story. But before Strike can question him further, Billy bolts from his office in a panic.
Trying to get to the bottom of Billy’s story, Strike and Robin Ellacott-once his assistant, now a partner in the agency-set off on a twisting trail that leads them through the backstreets of London, into a secretive inner sanctum within Parliament, and to a beautiful but sinister manor house deep in the countryside.
And during this labyrinthine investigation, Strike’s own life is far from straightforward: his newfound fame as a private eye means he can no longer operate behind the scenes as he once did. Plus, his relationship with his former assistant is more fraught than it ever has been-Robin is now invaluable to Strike in the business, but their personal relationship is much, much trickier than that.
The most epic Robert Galbraith novel yet, Lethal White is both a gripping mystery and a page-turning next instalment in the ongoing story of Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott.
This is a great series, and I love the interaction between the two main characters. I must admit I was a bit wary about reading this, as the third in the series didn’t work as well for me, but this one is great.
Good solid story, a growing relationship with Strike and Robin, lots of twists and turns. Highly recommended.
I do believe I’ve had my fill of Cormorant Strike.
Great characters and great plot!
Very well written, with multi dimensional characters and plotting.
Wonderful book. Plenty of stories within the story.
Very fun read and action packed.
Not as good as her 1st two as Galbreath ! They were great
This was her best so far! Loved the characters, story, twists and turns, humor. Felt like I lost a friend when it was over. Can’t wait for the next one!
All of the Cormoran Strike (hope I spelled it right) books are rich with mystery, relationships, and details. For sure, the world is very well described and so easy to imagine in all of this author’s books. I come away from this series with the feeling of an interesting mystery, well solved as well as a glimpse into the culture the book lives in. Once I picked up “Lethal White” I could not set it down until I had read it all.
Long and complex–a great slower-paced read–with intelligent twists and turns and satisfying character development.
Like all Cormoran Strike stories it is slow moving till about 70% mark. Then it starts moving. My main problem was there were a lot of characters to try and keep straight so things get confusing. Robert Galbraith did I good job of hiding who did it, I had some things figured out, but not others. I’m not sure how I feel about the Cormoran and Robin attraction, she has so much to get settled with Matthew. Overall I was entertained and enjoyed it.
Love detective stories with a twist. Read all of the books and cannot wait for more!’
A good read!!
This book isn’t just a genre mystery. It’s a bona fide novel. The characters are vibrantly real, the story realistic and gripping. I haven’t read as good a novel in quite a while. Highly recommended.
Great, great book. Keeps you guessing until the end, and it makes you care about the characters.
Least favorite of Cormoran Strike books. Have loved the series but this book has excessive descriptions and details which detract from the plots, in my opinion.
Great vocabulary.
My favorite of the Cormoran Strike novels (and I have loved them all). Great storytelling, the characters fly off the page and become real, and the ending very satisfying. Good pay off for the 650 page commitment.
Best Cormoran Strike novel yet! Brilliant! Amazing character depth and I couldn’t figure out the “who done it”, which I love!!
It is easy reading. Caracters are developing during the latest Robert Galbraith like thry should. The plot is tragic.
