I love all of the Miss Fortune books!
Good, clean, if highly unlikely fun
2nd in series – I recommend reading Louisiana Longshot first, since there are references to its plot within the story and also because important characters are established in it.
Rated PG because elementary school children probably wouldn’t enjoy it or understand some of the humor.
No sex
No harsh language
No violence
Screwball comedy style action
Fortune, placed by the CIA in the apparently sleepy bayou town of Sinful for her own protection, finds herself again mixed up in a murder. This time she’s suspect #1 in the townspeople’s minds. With the help of her band of “little old lady” Vietnam Vet friends she must untangle the mess of circumstantial evidence. Meanwhile, it’s obvious to everyone but her that she and Sheriff Carter already have a thing going on.
This is not Shakespeare.
This is simply light entertainment.
