Let’s just see where Mr Willy Wonka takes us this time. Fine, ok, I get it I’m going in the river, I mean it’s a chocolate river Mr Wonka will be there, it should be ok.
What does Mr Wonka do he brings in Slugworth to start whispering in your ear, and you get on the boat. You might want to tell Slugworth to shut up at this point and hang on because the river starts to get slightly rough as the ride begins.
While you’re on the river, Mr Wonka takes you through some dark tunnels and some rough spots but dam Slugworth makes sure you feel all of them till the end.
I mean I’m not one for spoilers but who would have known that Mr Willy Wonka would ever be that sneaky – gasp – and put he’s employer Mr Wilkinson as Slugworth to whisper in your ear to the end.
Note to Mr Willy Wonka – I would like to say that I had picked ‘Slug’worth before reading the book, which to me truly show that I’m on you saying your someone else Mr Wonka.
He first saw her crying on her front porch, but he was running an errand for his father. They first met in the bathroom at a party, shared a memory by the lake. Foster was stalking Rose outside her home, that was his first encounter with her father. Frank was bringing up two teenage girls Vivian and Rose on his own. He had a soft spot for Foster and tried to give him some fatherly advice. Foster was her first, but she wasn’t his. He was moved from home to home and school to school. Fosters father kept coming into his life and leaving behind a disaster. Although they lived in the same place the distance came between them. Years later they meet up but once again things get “messy”.
The authors emotions are bleeding onto the pages, they will be joined by your tears as you read them. The characters are genuine and relatable, the storyline is believable and the relationship between all of the characters is filled with highs and lows. This author has improved since his first books were released, Do yourself a favour and do not overlook this book.
Another book by authors Jaxson Kidman that had me stuck to the pages from the first pages until the end. Rose and Foster are two characters that are down and gritty. Both are people who grew up without mom’s in their lives. But here is where their home lives divide and because of who you have in your home OR rather who is NOT there it makes for how you end up in life. This book was heart touching and it would have been a 5 star read expect i got confused in parts with the back and forth from past to present. I would have to go back and re-read chapters to figure out timeline periods. But all in all this book was another of the Jaxson Kidman heart and soul grabbers. it had lots of hidden “Easter Eggs” and I am so happy took the time to read this slowly.
Let You Go was a roller coaster of emotions.
Foster and Rose have known each other since they were teens. She fell in love with him the first time she saw him, but Foster was a different story, or at least, he didn’t wear his heart on his sleeve the way Rose did. To be honest, the push and pull, run away bs Foster pulled on Rose was a bit much for my tastes. I wanted Rose to end up with someone who really deserved her, and I’m still not sure Foster really deserved Rose. He was so hot and cold with her throughout their entire lives that I wanted to smack him more than once. Sigh…poor Rose.
But, as is Jaxson’s trademark, Let You Go is pretty heart tugging and raw. It’s absolutely a love story, but it’s not a pretty one. Foster is too much of a jerk for it to be pretty. And pretty isn’t what I expect, or get, from a Jaxson Kidman story, so if it had been too sweet I probably wouldn’t have even liked it. So, although I never fell in love with Foster and hate the way he treated Rose, I still really liked Let You Go. It’s emotional, angsty and raw. Another great read from the master of emotional angsty love.
Amazing read
This was such a great story on two people and their journey of love to HEA. You will not want to put this book down. Well written story that developed at a good pace and gives all the feels.
Loved it from beginning to end.
Jaxson has written another amazing story. I loved this book so much. Foster and Rose, what a love story. I loved all the characters in this because, even the ones I hated. They were apart of Foster and Rose’s love story. This is a gut wrenching, emotional and amazing love story. No matter the circumstances, distance or time, what’s meant to be, will be. Fantastic book!
Gotta love a book that tugs at your heart-Let you Go does just that, Foster and Rose’s story is wonderful so many different emotions is wrapped in this book with their story-their love, great book!
