The past doesn’t have to define you… From the outside, Kate Roper has life all figured out—a career as social worker, friends who love her, and a perfectly sensible relationship with a loyal but boring man. She has her life sorted neatly into boxes…until she meets Danny, a tortured artist with a troubled past. They say opposites attract, and Danny’s sexual confidence intrigues Kate. His tattoos … Kate. His tattoos enthrall her. He is everything she doesn’t think she needs, yet she craves what he has to offer.
Art therapy sessions at a local therapy centre have saved Danny from his tormented past. But when Kate shows up with her positivity, paint brushes and flirty skirts, Danny can’t seem to escape the grim reminders she triggers of when he needed help the most and was left to bury the past under his addictions.
Danny doesn’t do romance. He does sex. Amazing sex. He can teach Kate the art of orgasms so that his Miss Goody Two Shoes learns the difference between monotonous and mind-blowing…
As their relationship intensifies, their pasts collide. They soon find that they have more in common than they ever would have thought, but can Kate and Danny find their truths in the unlikeliest of relationships?
This novel contains strong language and graphic descriptions of sex; therefore this novel is only suitable for 18+
This is the third book in the Music and Letters series but can be read as a standalone.

Find someone to give you kidney shivers
I first found Lynsey late last year when I read the first two books in her Music & Letters series – and while I really liked those, I felt that as a writer Lynsey had so much potential and I knew she could deliver a story that would WOW me… well I can safely say that Let Me Be Your Truth is that story!! This is the story I knew Lynsey could write and I absolutely loved every single word, every page, every moment.
Kate has a pretty poor experience when it comes to picking decent boyfriends. Couple that with her desire to please everyone and she struggles to break it off with a guy even when she’s not feeling it. When Kate’s girlfriends – Abi, Elle and Gem – convince her not to settle … Kate decides to find someone who will give her “kidney shivers”. Enter tortured soul, talented artist and former addict Danny – and this might be the man to give Kate what she’s after, if only he’d realise he more than deserves to find some happiness despite his past. Couple this with the fact that he is one sexy, tattooed god of a man who knows how to please a woman in the best ways possible and you’ll be swooning all over Danny in no time.
Lynsey battles some big issues in this book and she does so with passion, emotion and in a way that will touch your heart. I am such a big fan of books that don’t shy away from things that may be considered controversial or topical because it’s these books that make me think, make me feel and challenge the way I view the world. Add in a steamy romance that has the pages burning up with heat and this is a book that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
I’m such a big fan of the Music and Letters series because of the beautiful, loving and devoted friendship between the four wonderful ladies. So while Let Me Be Your Truth can stand-alone, I would definitely recommend reading the first two books in the series (Let Me Be Your First and Let Me Be Your Hope) so you can fall in love with Elle and Abi as well as fond out more about Kate and Gem. I’m so keen to read Gem’s book when it comes out and to see all these ladies get the HEA they truly deserve.

Even though this is the third book in this series, I haven’t read the first one yet but you can read each as a standalone. It was another great read and I enjoyed Kate and Danny’s story. It was a rollercoaster ride of feelings but definitely worth it.
I’m hoping Gem’s story comes next 🙂
Kate is in a bit of a rut and when she has the opportunity to work at a therapy centre, she takes the chance with both hands. But throughout the years she’s always been a people pleaser and can’t seem to shake it off. When she meets Danny, he’s a stubborn ass to her and it takes a lot of her to get him to open up. But there’s something about him that makes her wanting to get through his walls he’s put up. The road ahead isn’t easy and when something in both their pasts comes crashing into their lives, it’ll take both their courages to try and move on… and maybe, just maybe, they’ll find something they weren’t looking for…
I loved the first two books in this series and the third one has just blown me away i absolutely loved this book, i loved the characters, i loved the storyline, the way Lindsay M Stewart writes has you not being able to put the book down. I loved that even though it has the same settings the first two books they are such complete different books and story’s.
Everytime i thought I’ll stop here i would think nope that’s not enough to the point i pretty much read the book in one sitting.
I felt that these characters were pretty broken and they needed each other to be put together but in very good story it is not as easy road for them at all.
Danny has his demons and has not had the start to live and pretty much believes that he deserves nothing good in live and that made me so sad. He didn’t want to get close to anyone and really kept everyone at arms length. I really loved Danny’s character the fight he fought to get his life on track was admirable and i loved watching him grow.
I felt so sorry for Kate she was such a people pleaser and thought about everyone but not herself. I felt she lost herself and really needed to grow aswell and to look after herself. She had a lot of questions from her past and until she got some answers i don’t feel she could move on.
The way this book started i wasn’t sure excatly how this story was going to go, it made me laugh especially when it came to Steve and his parsnip, i cried for the broken characters, and it was emotional where i felt i was just hoping and trying to turn the pages quicker to see how this story would end.
This book was just not your straight forward love story there were some twits and turns then surprised me.
I also loved how the characters from the previous books were so prominent in this story and had a big role and that sometimes your best friends can be your family. I also loved Ruth she is a character that everyone needs in there life.
Loved loved this third book from the must and lyrics series i probably always say this but it is so far my favourite of Lynsey M Stewart. If you haven’t started this series it’s a must and if you have then don’t waste anytime starting this one.
A big 5 Stars from me
MY FAVORITE of this series. Love it!
I loved the first two books in the Music and Lyrics series and now it is Kate’s turn to make her dreams come true. Kate has serious self esteem issues and doesn’t think that she will have knee trembling experience her two friend found and so she settles. But when her boyfriend can no longer get it up, let alone give her any type of satisfaction, she realizes that she deserves better. Plus she doesn’t like to hurt their feelings. When she meets Danny, who is the model in the art class she will be teaching, she feels that intensity just from looking into his eyes. That makes life a whole lot more exciting, but Kate needs to put herself out there and believe that she deserves that special someone.
I fell in love with the Music and Letters series with book one and with every book, my love grows deeper. I love the friendships, the support, the differences, the amazing men that are locking down these equally amazing women.
Kate seems to be the one with everything figured out. That made me most excited to read her story because no one has it all together all the time and I was curious about what was really going on with her. Nothing like a tattooed, motorcycle-riding, bad boy to turn everything upside down and forcing Kate to look at whether she really does have everything figured out or if she’s just convinced herself that she does. On the surface, it looks like Kate and Danny should have nothing in common but the more time they spend together, the more it’s obvious that these two are more alike than anything.
I really thought that Let Me Be Your Hope was going to go down as my favorite book in this series. It’s just so incredible that nothing could beat it; and then I read Let Me Be Your Truth and I’m torn about which is now my favorite. I laughed (a lot) and cried (way more than I thought I would) but from the very first page, I was connected to Kate and Danny. I wanted to reach through my kindle and give them all the hugs and a few throttles too. There is no way I can write anything that does these characters justice: they feel real; they feel like friends; they give you no choice but to root for them. I am really looking forward to what comes next in this series!!
Let Me Be Your Truth is the third book in the Music and Letters series. All books are standalones but having also read the first two (Let Me Be Your First and Let Me Be Your Hope) I’d say if you haven’t already read them then you are missing out on a treat. Having rated both previous books as ‘outstanding’ my expectations for this book was high and I hoped that once again the author would create her magic on paper. I need not have worried. If anything I feel that this series just keeps getting better and better and I’m now left with a book hangover after another epic read from Lynsey M Stewart.
The blurb tells us that this book focuses on Kate who is one of the four ladies that make up a fabulous group of friends. Each of the girls have their own book in this series, or I should really say will have as Gem’s story will be published next. The blurb also introduces us to Danny and reveals to us that he has had a troubled life and enjoys sex. You are going to read about sex and I’d suggest purchasing a cooling fan as there is some definite heat in this book. However do not for one minute think that the sex is the main focus. Ms Stewart has this way of writing words that make you ‘feel’. It’s her forte in my opinion and oh my word this book will make you feel every emotion possible. I adored the moments when tears were streaming down my face that she could still make me smile. I could feel the moments of anxiety when my heart would beat faster. There are moments where you will laugh, have butterfly in the stomach moments…. indeed this book has it all. Lynsey has the amazing ability to take you on an emotional roller coaster that you never want to end.
There is something about Lynsey’s words that has me feeling a connection with the characters she writes about. I felt I understood completely what Kate and Danny were going through even though my own personal life has never followed those same paths. It was lovely to have that connection and it was an absolute pleasure to read their stories and see how they each developed and changed as the book progressed. Kate is a very special lady and well Danny, let’s just say I want to take him home and keep him for myself.
I feel that this review won’t give the book what it deserves as I don’t have a way with words like the author does. What I will say is that I want to shout from the rooftops for readers to pick up their kindles or buy the paperback and read this story. It is outstanding! Once you start this book you will not want to put it down until you have devoured every single word.
