Abi Sinclair is a determined social worker and committed party girl. She’s independent, ballsy and living the single girls’ dream. But underneath the bravado and empty one-night stands, she’s hiding a broken heart… Jamie Dawson is Abi’s lost love, the only man who ever made her feel alive. When he left Nottingham two years ago to take care of his terminally ill mother, they agreed to communicate … communicate only by letter, both believing their love was meant to be.
One regrettable lie forced them down very different paths.
One rash decision forced them apart.
But Jamie is back. And he’s Abi’s new manager. Only he’s a different man—too different.
Desperate for answers, Abi won’t stop until she uncovers the truth behind Jamie’s two-year absence…
This novel contains strong language, mainly from Abi. She can’t help it. Jamie is guilty too, particularly when passion gets the better of him.
There are also descriptions of sex, therefore this novel is only suitable for 18+
This is the second book in the Music and Letters series but can be read as a standalone.

I am scared of writing this review and it not giving this book what it deserves. You know when you read a book and it makes you feel…. and I mean really feel, well this book does just that! I have hated every time that I have had to put my kindle down to function in the real world as I just wanted to read and read and read but never wanting this story to end. This book will make you feel every emotion possible I promise you. I have laughed, cried but most importantly to me I felt the emotion on every page. My heart felt like it was being squeezed and those feelings that you get in your stomach were there too. There are few authors who manage to write words and get them so perfect that you feel, but this author does!
This is the second book in the Music and Letters series and if you haven’t read the first book your enjoyment of this one will not be spoiled but I have to say you are missing out on an amazing read so please go back and read Elle’s story. One of the things I love about this series is the characters. The group of girl friends that are Abi, Elle, Kate and Gem are fabulous and oh how I wish I was part of their group. They just make me laugh so many times and they really are the supportive friends everyone should have in their lives.
This book concentrates on the story of Abi and Jamie. I adored both characters and their story is so heartbreakingly beautiful. Abi is the girl I would love to be and if I couldn’t be her then I would love to have her as my best friend. She is such an amazing character and well, you just have to meet her!! She has a heart of gold and I love the fun side to her too. Jamie is the boy you would fall in love with at first sight. He is gorgeous and also has a heart of gold. Their story is one that you don’t want to miss. This book will have you on an emotional rollercoaster ride but it is one ride that you definitely have to experience.
Jamie and Abi. Abi and Jamie. A love that’s more. Bigger. Brighter. Better. And yet you go into the book knowing they are not together. Why? What caused them to part? Why stay apart? So many questions! I loved the tension threaded throughout this book, it kept me engaged and wondering. The toggle back and forth between then and now, slowly revealing the answers, was such a great way to tell Jamie and Abi’s story. I loved the twists and turns and unraveling. A great story!
I’m not sure any review I could ever write would do justice to the amazing story that Let Me Be Your Hope is. This story started with a chemistry and connection that was unbelievably powerful, lead into a separation that nearly destroyed them, and ended with a reunion that was heartbreakingly beautiful.
Abi and Jamie met while he was training her in her social work placement. While their relationship had some forbidden aspects to it, the connection was so undeniable that consequences would never matter. When Jamie needs to move away and convinces Abi to communicate only through letters, a series of events leads to nearly two years of silence between them. When Jamie returns, his connection and attraction to Abi is as strong as the day he left. But two years is a long time and a lot has changed for both of them. Can they overcome all of the obstacles to reconnect?
Abi is one of my favorite characters. She’s hilarious, she’s blunt, and she’s an amazing friend. Jamie is sweet, romantic, and smart. They perfectly complemented each other. This book made me laugh so much and cry more than I thought I would. Even five days after reading the last word on the last page, this book continues to be on my mind. While this book reads as a complete standalone, you are truly missing out on the hilarious antics that are Abi Sinclair if you don’t read Let Me Be Your First!! I’m really looking forward to what comes next for this fantastic group of friends.
Literally could not put this book down. I love Abi and Jamie so much. Their story was EPIC and heartbreaking and hopeful and soul-bearing and perfect. Life is funny and choices and decisions lead us down paths and sometimes we get so lost we may never find our way back….that’s where Abi and Jamie found themselves. Lynsey Stewart your ability to tell a story amazes me. 5 stars…although 10 if I could give that many.
LMBYH is my favorite installment of the Music and Letters series because let’s be honest, Abi is by far one of the most entertaining and relatable characters I have ever read. I am so glad she and Jamie got their second chance. They are so perfect together.
My first read from this author; I really loved and enjoyed this book! I haven’t read the first one yet but you can read this as a standalone so I still could follow everything. The story really touched me and gripped me in a way it should be. When you love someone so deeply but something gets in the way, you wonder if you ever get over your first true love. Whether you’d ever meet again someday, to get that second chance. It touched me and had all the right feels. Definitely a must read and 5 stars for me! Be sure to grab those tissues though…
Abi never really let anyone in and keeps everyone at bay but when she meets Jamie sparks fly and love blooms. But when Jamie needs to move away to care for his mother, things change and their long distance relationship seems to be doomed like any other. Now two years later, Jamie’s back in town. But both have their secrets and when it’s all revealed, only truth will set them free. Will they get their second chance or will too much be between them?…
Amazing relationship between Jaime and Ali..loved it
When I read Lindsay M Stewart’s first book I thought wow what an exceptional novel for a debut how can she ever get better than that, well she proved me wrong because this book was everything. I loved Let Me Be Your Hope so much.
This book had all the feels for me and I can’t tell you how many times I laughed out loud and then in the next minute my heart would drop to the floor and I would have a cry and I love it when a book does that too me. I also loved all the UK slang in there really took me back to living there.
What a story I loved Abi in the first book and was so excited that her book would be next, Abi is exactly who I would love to be just let your mouth run wild and have no filter and just tell you how it is. She is strong, braves and really beautiful character. I really felt for in this book and so glad she showed her softer side and not just putting on a brave face all the time
Jamie was really for me a lost boy who tried to do all the right things but ended up ruining himself and it took a lot to get him to be the man he should have been in the start. I don’t blame Jamie for being this way and it was awesome to read him come into the man he should have always been.
I loved everything about this book, I loved how we were in the present and then took us back for half of the book into the past where we really got to see how everything played out and then we were back in the present, it just caused me to not want to put the book down as I wanted to get back in the present to see what the hell was going on.
What a fantastic read, if you like a laugh out loud emotional roller coaster this is one for you and I would recommend this to everyone and anyone. The writing is just fantastic and really am becoming a big fan of Lindsay
A big big 5 stars for this book and series loving the series a lot
Let Me Be Your Hope is the second book in Stewart’s Music and Letters series. While able to be read as a standalone, the relationship between the women is such an integral part, I suggest reading Let Me Be Your First as well (so get on that, okay?). I’ll start out by saying that angsty isn’t necessarily something I seek out, but wow, this book was amazing – funny, poignant, happy, sad. And HOT. The chemistry between Abi and Jamie was off the charts. Oh, and I totally want a mug that says, “f—k, f—k, f—kity, f—k.” Except my kid can read.
I’m very much looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
Wow, just Wow!! Although this is the second book in the Music and Letters series, it can be read as a standalone, as I did. Abi and Jamie are made for each other, or so they think. Jamie has to move away to take care of his mother and so the pair decide that they will write letters to each other to keep their romance alive. This book draws you in and makes you feel invested in Abi and Jamie’s lives and the outlying characters add depth with their stories. Definitely a must read
