The heart wants what the heart wants…
Fresh out of college with a psychology degree, Molly Stillman was searching for the meaning of life by taking a summer volunteer gig building houses. The meaning in Molly’s life became apparent when her path crossed Lincoln Abbott’s. With his brand-new Yale MBA in hand, Linc was Mississippi bound, ready to spend the summer rebuilding houses after a … rebuilding houses after a devastating hurricane. He had a plan, lots of them, actually. But after meeting Molly, he realized plans have a way of showing you who’s boss.
One look from the intelligent beauty working by his side on the house project, and Linc knew everything had changed. His long-time goal of studying at Oxford before joining his family’s finance business was abandoned in favor of helping to grow Molly’s charming family business in Vermont. Too bad Linc’s father had other ideas about how his future should unfold, and when forced to make a choice, Linc chose Molly. He chose Vermont and the Green Mountain Country Store, and he never looked back.
Until a phone call from the past forces him to confront the choices he made decades ago and the consequences of saying goodbye, including telling his ten grown children why they’ve never met his family—a subject that’s always been off-limits until now. When Linc decides to go to Philadelphia to clear his conscience and see his father one last time, his wife and children insist on going along. Let them see what came of this choice you made, his eldest son, Hunter, says.
As they wander down memory lane, Linc and Molly revisit the unforgettable summer that changed both their lives and look back on forty years of happily ever after.

Great feel good story. You get Linc and Molly’s story plus updates on the children. I love this family and I look forward to the next book.
“It all began at a bus station in Mississippi”
I so enjoyed this story. In the series, we have seen almost all the siblings and a cousin find their HEA. Let It Be is the parents’ backstory. Marie takes us back to when Lincoln and Molly first met and how their parents reacted to the two of them falling in love. Their history is interwoven with present day. We get to see this wonderfully huge family spent Christmas together and get an update on all their lives. This story really highlights how awesome Lincoln and Molly are as well as all their children. This series has everything I love to read in a family romance saga series: a huge, committed family that supports each other no matter what, a family that truly loves one another even if they get on each other nerves, grown children that love and respect their parents, and fun, sexy, and interesting characters that I want to hang out with. The series is still fresh and interesting. Fantastic read!
**This is an ongoing storyline and are best read in order.
If you love the Green Mountain and Butler VT series, you will adore this book. It tells the back story behind Linc and Molly, and gives you real insight into how they became the wonderful people they are. The story is emotional, realistic, and can make you a bit weepy at times. What really makes this book special is that it brings in every other character in the series – how each of their ten children met their significant other and fell in love, their children and families, and the role Molly’s parents played in shaping the adults Linc and Molly are today. You end up feeling as though you read a whole book about each of the couples by the time you are done! Marie Force never ceases to amaze me.
Wow, Wow, Wow! I have been looking forward to Lincoln & Molly’s story for a long time because they have raised such amazing kids that we have got to enjoy in this amazing series. I knew it would be good but I truly didn’t know that it would be probably my favorite book of this entire series and that’s saying a LOT!
Let It Be is definitely one of my favorite books of the year – if not my favorite. We not only finally get to hear how Linc & Molly came to be, but we get updates on all of their amazing children. Linc & Molly’s story shows that true love can handle the good, bad and the ugly and that love is a choice! I feel like I cried throughout almost all of this book with happy tears one minute and sad tears another. I absolutely loved hearing them reminisce about their love story, hearing how Elmer handled Molly falling in love with Linc and seeing how much love Linc & Elmer have for each other. Then of course hearing from each of the kids and where they stand was just the icing on top of the amazing wonderful cake.
I highly recommend you get busy reading the Abbott family books! They are AMAZING and I’m so excited for the next book in the series Come Together!!
So, you know when you wait and wish for a story, then you finally get it? Well, sometimes it doesn’t live up to expectations and sometimes it’s so much better, Let it Ne was so much better.
Lincoln and Molly’s story is so much more than a family origin story, or a Christmas story. This catch-up not only tells the tale of how they met, it answers all these questions that have been in the series since the beginning, but it also takes place in the current holiday time period.
And there’s weddings, and a baby, an air mattress that pops at an inopportune time, and multiple pregnancies, and moose, oh my!
5 Star Review of Let It Be (Butler, Vermont #6)
AUDIO REVIEW:
Reading a Green Mountain or Butler Vermont book is to me like going home to visit my family. I adore the Abbott family and absolutely loved Let It Be. It was everything I hoped for and so much more that I listened to this one in almost one sitting. I was absolutely riveted to the story and narration.
Linc and Molly’s story ha become my favourite book and to say that means so much as I have loved every one of the stories that Ms.Force has woven about this family. I have always wondered about how Linc and Molly met and the circumstances that had Linc moving to Butler, Vermont but I had no idea how complicated and heartbreaking the circumstances were until now.
Linc is comfortable with the decision he made almost forty years ago, but all it takes is one phone call and the past rushes back to smack him in the face. I loved how the story moved through time from past to present and the unconditional love that all the Abbott children and their significant others gave to Linc.
Marie Force did not disappoint in any way as this was an extremely well written sweet and romantic love story that touched me on so many levels. Let It Be is at times a heart wrenching story of determination, courage, strength and above all love, acceptance and family.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series, Come Together.
This family is incredible!
Whenever I read a book in this series, I want to be a part of the family and move to Butler, Vermont.
The place is simply magical and the whole family is so wonderful. They are loud, funny, extremely loyal and they love intensely.
It was nice getting to know Linc and Molly’s story and their kids’ reaction to it. They’re so fiercely protective and pationate about each other, it was adorable to read.
I also really liked seeing not only Linc’s and Molly’s POV in this book, but rather the whole Abbott family’s (and even Elmer).
Let It Be
By: Marie Force
Narrated by: Stella Hunter
This book is my favorite of the series! A look back into Linc and Molly’s beginnings. There is nothing better for me than finding the roots of this amazing family. Linc is called by his estranged sister about this ailing health of his father. Now, his side of the family is never mentioned, so now it’s time for the reasons. When told, the 10 kids and their families rally around Linc. But what will come of this? Will there be a happy family reunion? Will there be more pain? Will it be the closure Linc needs? Visit with the Abbotts. We get a look at their past and their present as we spend Christmas with the family! Heartwarming story and one you will truly enjoy.
Stella Hunter is one of my favorite female narrators. She has a warmth in her voice that resonates through her characters and makes them very real to me. She is perfectly cast for this family, and I enjoyed her story telling.

I love this family and this look into the past what wonderful! Thanks for the update on the other couples, too.
I started the New Year in the best way possible. I started the New Year as a fly on the wall. I spent the first day of the New Year listening to an oral history. It only took a phone call from someone he hadn’t heard from in 40 years to open the floodgates. Let It be is the story of Molly and Linc.
Their were consequences to Linc falling for Molly. There were so many emotions brought out by this story. Anger, compassion, love, happiness, satisfaction, sadness, and contentment fill the pages. The most prominent emotion is love. The love that Linc and Molly have is what makes the story. Their love makes their family.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Let It Be ( Butler, Vermont #6), can my words do this wonderful read justice. This is a perfect addition to this amazing series about one of my favourite families the Abbott’s, I love my visits to Butler, Vermont and I was excited for Molly and Lincs story and I have to say this book was everything I expected and so much more……
I don’t want to write a review that is full of spoilers because I believe you need to read this book with no preconceived ideas, you need to read this book first hand so I’m just going to tell you how Let It Be made me feel. This story takes us back to when Molly and Linc met, it gives us an insight into why we have never met Lincs family and why family and friends are so important to this family.
This book touched me on so many levels, I laughed and I cried , I loved joining this family on a bus journey to the past and this wonderful tale made this family real and special. This author paints pictures with her words and she describes Butler beautifully, in fact I feel like I know this town even though I live on a different continent. This book can certainly be read as a stand-alone but I’m sure once you meet the Abbott’s one book will never be enough, this is a series I will read and re read because I can’t get enough of this clan. Looking forward to whats next from Vermont.
If you love the Abbotts, then you will love this book. This is how Molly and Linc come to be. But, don’t think it’s all about their past. This book takes place in the past and the present. All Abbott members are present and accounted for in this book. You will read many points of view and catch up with your favorite characters. No cliffhanger, but don’t think this is the last you have seen of the Abbotts.
I don’t think it ever occurred to me that we never knew anything about Lincoln’s family. I credit Marie’s rich writing style for that. The Abbott-Stillman-Coleman clan is so expansive and full, I never feel like I’m missing something.
The look back at Lincoln and Molly’s beginning was so great. Not only did we get their origin story but Marie provided us with a peak into the lives of all ten of their children and spouses and grandchildren.
I’m happy that Lincoln chose Molly all those years ago. I’m happy for the peek into everyone’s life. Landon still makes me laugh the most.
If you are looking for an amazing feel good, heartwarming book to read at Christmas, or basically anytime, this is the perfect book. If you are familiar with the Abbott family you know Linc and Molly are the head of the family, the parents that are the relationship role models for their ten children. In this book we stroll down memory lane with Linc and Molly to learn how their relationship began.
I absolutely loved how you learned of their past while catching up on the present lives with all of the ten children. It was a wonderful book, and left you with such a good happy feeling. I love visiting Vermont and the Abbott family, and this book did not disappoint. Cheers Marie!
Amazing story about the beginning of the Abbott family. Includes an update on every character and an Abbott family road trip. The love and happiness pours out of the pages as Linc faces his past losses with the support of everyone of his children. The peace and forgiveness creates contentment throughout the family. Marie Force is my most favorite author and I pre-order every book with description.
