Creepy and suspenseful. Hard to put down. Loved Jake and Charlie. Great story.
Let Her Rest is the 7th installment in JR Erickson’s fantastic Northern Michigan Asylum collection. Each book can be read as a standalone, while every novel has an underlying theme of the Northern Michigan Asylum. The more you read the more background material you absorb for future books. This story was no exception. A wonderful ghost story/murder mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat and burning the midnight oil until you are finished. With the fantastic storyline and wonderful characters it is definitely a win. I can’t wait to see what the next, and unfortunately last, book will be.
This series has been great. Each story has been very enjoyable and this one is no different. I liked the characters, the world building and the story lines. It was great to see some of the characters from previous books show back up. While you don’t have to read the whole series to enjoy Let Her Rest, it does make it a little bit better. I was very intrigued by what we find out at the end of this one. I hope that is the subject of the next book.
I would like to thank J.R. Erickson for the ARC copy and the opportunity to read this book early. I love this series and look forward to the next book.
This book is captivatingly eerie!! Once you start reading it you can’t put it down. It grabs you from the beginning and just has this pull on you to finish. You just gotta know what happens. Jake owns his own business and doesn’t remember much of his childhood up to the age of 10. Then one day a mysterious woman named Petra shows up and says they knew each other while at the asylum. Charlie is a divorced woman starting over who buys a wonderful house. What she doesn’t know is that it’s haunted….
I received this as an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Well the she pulled it off again another great fantastic book read. I received this book as an arc copy. World building was definitely absolutely incredible as was the character development which was incredible as well. Storyline and plot line were both well developed as well. The story follows a man who is trying to solve the mystery and murder of an individual he knew when they were children, and to remember his childhood. The twists and turns the plot takes is totally amazing, and you do not know from one page to another what you are going to stumble onto. This book is a midnight oil burner and page-turner that you cannot put down until you have reached the very end. I highly recommend this book for people who enjoy solving murder mysteries, and love fast action packed plots. I love this series and wish there could be more books coming out, but there is one last book that will be coming out and that will be the end. So sad for for those of us that love this particular author and her writing technique, but there are other books that you may have missed or just go back to the books you have and reread.
A fantastic read that grabs you from the first page to the last. Its a fast past read with epic scenes, the scenes are written so well that I can picture them in my minds eye. This is a real page turner with twists and turns that keeps you enthralled with this read. I definitely recommend this captivating read. Its a must read.

Let Her Rest, the latest installment in J.R. Erickson’s Northern Michigan Asylum books is another great paranormal thriller. As the past intertwines with the present, Jake will find that his amnesia was hiding the horrors of his youth in the institution and what led to his escape. Meanwhile Charlie is now living in Wilder’s Grove, the house where Jake escaped and found safe haven – the haunted house. Someone from Jake’s past has been murdered and he is being framed. Jake will have to unlock his history if he is to free himself and Charlie from the madman of his past. An incredible eerie series. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
