As a dance teacher, Cassie Mitchell lives her dream every day. Grant Weber’s dream was shattered the day he lost his wife. When Grant and his daughter move to Maple Glen, Cassie is all too excited about the possibility of a new student in her class. What she didn’t count on was her instant attraction to the charming widower. Cassie didn’t expect Grant and his beautiful daughter, Alex, to fit so … daughter, Alex, to fit so well into her life and they didn’t plan on welcoming someone new into theirs.
As Cassie and Grant grow closer, challenging and pushing each other in every way, it turns out the lessons they’ll be learning won’t only be for dance, but for the heart.

I wanted to really love this, as I love the whole family. But, it felt a little choppy and the ending was rushed. Nothing against anything really, I love the characters, especially Alex, she made the story! Widowed dad is always sad, but all at once 2 years isn’t ‘recent’. I had mixed feelings on that.
I do still recommend the story! I’d love to move to Maple Glen!
I loved this book so much. I had so many emotions that came out as I turned page by page. Fran once again at her matchmaking. It touched my heart, and made me think of what my husband and I had before cancer took him. Love finds its way, even in unexpected times. I have always been a firm believer if it is meant to be, love will bring two people together when they least expect it. Thank you Christina for a wonderful love story that touched my heart in many ways. I highly recommend this book and all her books. Her work keeps you wanting more and more with each story you read.
I think I like Fran more and more each book I read. 😉 Another sweet Mitchell sibling romance. I like the single father angle. I am super excited to read the last sibling book. I will be so sad when we have to let go of Maple Glen.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
What a wonderful story! I loved it! Likable characters that you really get to know in the story. Aunt Fran is back in this story with her usual matchmaking! I am looking forward to the next book in this series. This is a heartwarming, sweet and clean story that you are sure to enjoy!
I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
I’ve really come to love Maple Glen and all of the stories the author has given us so far. Lesson for Two has come to be my favorite of the five though. On top of a great new love story, we also get a glimpse of everyone we’ve come to love. I love how the author makes sure to keep us updated on all of her amazing characters.
Lesson for Two follows Grant and Cassie. We met Grant in the previous book when he showed up at the bed and breakfast in town. I had a feeling we’d see him again and I’m very happy we did. Grant’s life isn’t going completely as planned. Losing his wife and having to raise his daughter, Alex, on his own hasn’t come easy. A new start in Maple Glen is just what these two need.
Grant is a veternarian and so sweet! I loved how he was with his daughter and only wanted what was best for her. I have to mention Alex though, because she was really adorable. I loved that the author decided to make her grief a part of this story. I think she did that really well. Grant is definitely what you want in a bookboyfriend, but he’s still finding his way. It’s clear he’s still dealing with his own grief, but I loved that he wants to let himself live again. I’m sure that can’t be easy and hope to not have to experience that.
Cassie isn’t one to sit still. She’s a teacher’s assistant and a dance teacher. On top of that, she’s working really hard to open up her own dance studio to teach full time. Cassie is motivated and really sweet with the kids she teaches. The connection between Cassie and Alex wasvery genuine and the interactions were a lot of fun to read about.
Lesson for Two is a very emotional story that definitely had me tearing up, but it also left a big smile on my face. Maple Glen is a town I’d love to live in along with these amazing characters. I can’t wait to see what this small town has in store for us next.
This is book 5 in the Maple Glen series and it’s a heartwarming story about a widowed single father, Grant and his adorable daughter Alex and our town dance teacher, Cassie. It was a sweet second chance romance with all the feels. I can’t wait to see what we get in Carter’s story, however I was wishing for more with Cassie and Grant. This was a great addition to the series and has kept me hooked.
Grant and his six year old daughter Alex have fallen for Alex’s new dance teacher Cassie. But it’s clear that he’s still hurting from the death of his wife. I felt for both Grant and Cassie as she can’t help falling for him too, but he hurts her with his hot and cold feelings because of it. I’m always running late myself so I connected with Cassie on that. And like Grant I don’t like to dance and have two left feet. It was great to catch up with Cassie’s siblings from the previous books in the series. Alex was adorable and sweet with her attempts at matchmaking. There were plenty of funny, sad, and romantic moments in this clean small town romance.
Cassie and Grant’s story melted my heart. Grant is a single dad with the sweetest little girl. I instantly adored Alex. I like how Cassie bonded with Alex. They three make such a beautiful family. Their journey wasn’t easy. I definitely shedded a few tears but more than anything it warmed my heart and left me smiling.
It’s a great holiday read.
The small town feel with wonderful Aunt Fran doing her famous match-making strikes again. Cassie had never been in a serious relationship and was afraid to get into one with Grant because of his baggage he carried with him, having lost his wife, the love of his life and raising a young daughter.
Cassie always wanted her own dance studio and was in the process of remodeling a barn for that sole purpose. She met Grant and Alex his daughter who wanted to take dance lessons. She fell in love with the little girl and had feelings for her father, but she was so confused, what should she do?
The emotions in this story were amazing. You laughed and cried. I got so mad at Grant, I was crying.
Now this one is my favorite in the series.
Being a single dad isn’t easy, especially when you’re not single by choice. Opening his heart to the possibility of love is harder yet easier than he imagined and his daughter makes it easy. Another winner from this author who brings us characters that make our heart all gooey along with a child that will pull on the heartstrings. This author gives us a clean romance that you feel all the way through to your toes. It’s always a good read and with Aunt Fran in the mix it will always be fun.
I loved this one. One of all time favorite in this series.
Butrum has created another book in the series that warms your heart and leaves you as giddy with the HEA as you could possibly be!
The main characters of Cassie, Grant and Alex are all so likable and fun to see develop. I loved that Grant was still grieving his deceased wife enough to doubt the possibility of loving Cassie, but honest enough to entertain the thought. His daughter, Alex, (obviously still aching from the loss of her mother) is open to her father and Cassie becoming involved. That was such a relief!
Cassie, is an always late, big on dreams but trying to make them happen kind of gal. She very smartly is hesitant to get involved with a man who is still grieving over the loss of his wife. The doubts, but steady pull to get together is as sweet as the entire book! A sweet, clean romance you won’t want to miss!
Lesson for Two is Book 5 in the Maple Glen series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was impossible not to fall in love with Cassie, Grant and little Alex.
Cassie Mitchell is following her dream. With the support and help of her big, loving family, she is working hard to transform an old barn into a dance studio where she will teach ballet to the little girls of Maple Glen.
Grant Weber is mourning the loss of his wife who was taken from him and his 6 year old daughter, Alex, in a tragic car accident. He hopes that moving from the town and house where their family had shared so much happiness and love to the friendly small town of Maple Glen will help them to heal and move on with their lives.
Ms. Butrum has perfected the art of writing sweet, clean second chance romances with engaging characters. I have enjoyed every book in the Maple Glen series. I highly recommend Lesson for Two and the entire Maple Glen series. 5 Gold Stars!
I was excited to be back in Maple Glen with Christina Butrum’s “Lesson for Two”. The characters in this novel are so very sweet and like-able that you just want to hug them….
There were some emotional ups and downs that left me wondering how the story would end.
The Maple Glen Series is heartwarming and I would most definitely recommend “Lesson for Two”, as well as, the other books in the series.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review
Sooo cute…..
Another great installment to the Maple Glen series ~ I the Mitchell family. Cassie (Love that name, by-the-way) and Grant are characters that you just fall in love with add Alex and it made this one irresistible to me. Of course Aunt Fran is working her magic in this one, as in all the others which give you the homey feel that you’d expect in a small town romance. I love that this Author can give you so many feels and deliver a sweet romance that is clean.
Can’t wait for Aunt Fran’s Novella ~ something GREAT to look forward to in 2020.
What a sweet story about finding love again. I am a sucker for a single dad romance and this doesn’t get any sweeter than that. Grant and Alex are just the cutest and it’s like Cassie fits right in. The story is sweet and heartwarming.
We are back in Maple Glen with Cassie, single father Grant and his daughter Alex. As usual Aunt Fran is back at matchmaking. I loved this book and I can’t wait for more.
