Lennon McCartney is the drummer for Preload and while heading to their final show before a scheduled several months break when they are involved in a devastating accident. Georgia Starr, a premier pediatric neurosurgeon, just happens to be driving, which she rarely does, by and quickly jumps in to help extricate the band members and their family from the bus. This is how she meets Lennon and her medical care is what saves his life, medically and emotionally. Lennon was deeply depressed prior to the accident but after he turns everyone away. Georgia has it all. A thriving career but she will never have the approval of her father who seems to have a control over the rest of the family. Georgia is drawn to Lennon in ways she could not fathom and days after the accident turned up in his hospital room and the band members (his family) are their but getting nowhere with him but she steps in and she is the light in his world. Watching Lennon and Georgia come to grips with their budding friendship that sparks into so much more was beautiful but watching the healing that happens to both Lennon and Georgia as they each come to grips with what their lives need was told in a way that was thought provoking and emotional. Make sure you have tissues handy when reading this one!
This can be read as a standalone. I have not read the other books in this series and was not lost at all. That being said, I am going to have to find the other books about the rest of the “family” because these “brothers” are fascinating.
Lennon Reborn is the perfect ending to the Preload series! Heavy on emotions, this story was simply beautiful!
Lennon Reborn packed more than a few punches, and I was so emotionally involved in his story it was hard to put down. The story started with a loud bang, and includes some dark themes and might trigger some readers. If you want to know what kind of trigger, please contact me privately.
I think Lennon’s backstory is the one that touched me the most. It’s a wonder he could even function at all with all he had to go through as a young child, and then through several foster homes until he found the Preload guys.
Lennon Reborn is the final book of the series Preload by Scarlett Cole, providing the fans of this series more an incredible story that lived up to the other.
In this fourth and last book we have the story of Lennon, and I must say that it was a character that always intrigued me since him showed up. And so I knew a little of the real Lennon, that behind the facade of closed and hard I fell in love with him. I think I have a love affair by good guys tortured.
Georgia, the heroine of this story appears in the life of Lennon precisely at a time when he most needed serving of emotional support and also showing Lennon that he’s someone worthy of love and be loved. I love developing between these two characters and how both served as anchor for one another grow as a person and open to love.Of course, I can’t help but comment that it was great to see the other characters of this story and I can see that they are still happy and being a family to each other.
Lennon Reborn is a great ending to a series that kept me from the first book. Is an emotional story of heartbreaking at times but also full of romantic and funny moments.
This book has everything! All the feels! Lennon’s story is heartbreaking! When he meets Georgia, his Gia, his life is hanging in the balance and wants her to just let him go! Instead, she holds on tighter and saves his life, in more ways than one! Get ready to fall in love with the drummer! I know I did! 5 stars
***5 ‘Don’t Leave Me’ Stars***
As sad as I am that this is the final book in the series, I gotta say that it was one hell of a finale! Ms. Cole promised an emotional gut punch and boy did she deliver on many levels…many (. I swooned, I snarled a bit, I gave the author the evil side eye in my head, I got all sniffly and teary and laughed out loud. Bottomline, I simply enjoyed all the words and the feels they pulled out of me.
Lennon. This sweet, complex, bruised man killed me. The whole ‘I need to hug you but Gibbs smack some sense into you’ thing was real. His heart was so golden, but he was blinded by his past and had a hard time seeing not only what was right in front of him, but also himself. Thankfully a sliver of light finds it way in and his evolution is a sight to see.
I adored Georgia. She exudes confidence and intelligence and yet she doesn’t shove it in your face. It’s just there. She is gracious and thoughtful and relies on her gut as much as her heart. I loved getting to know her and watching her evolve as well, because while she is quite content in her life, she had some things that needed to be addressed and she most definitely did address them.
Lennon and Georgia’s journey, from start to finish, was quite…unique. They met under circumstances that were less than ideal and their road definitely wasn’t without obstacles even after that, but what came out of it was a whole lot of beauty. Even from the beginning there was a connection between them that went beyond anything either could explain. They simply had a flow to their interactions and I really enjoyed watching as they went from strangers to friends to more. The chemistry between them was hot and I loved how they helped each other widen their perspective of what their lives should and shouldn’t be.
I am sad that this is the last book of the series, but it was the perfect finale for the Preload guys and the women who stole their hearts. The whole family vibe was what drew me in from the start and to watch it grow and evolve was a lot of fun. I am crossing my toes that we’ll get snippets of these characters somewhere down the road in way or another, but it was an amazing ride and at least I can always revisit these books when I need a fix.

What a gut wrenching book. I do mean that in the best possible way. The amount of emotion in this book is encompassing. I cried through most of this book, happy tears, sad tears, heartbreaking tears and joyous tears. This book has it all. Ince I started reading I couldn’t put it down.
*Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this for my honest opinion*
5 Tell me I’m worth it stars
Lennon is the youngest member of Preload and there is more to him than meets the eye. Despite their years together, the other band members are unaware of the details of his harrowing childhood. On the outside he often comes across as rude and surly, preferring to remain on the edge of the group. I love the way that as a reader we get to see inside his head, to share his thoughts and feelings, his fears.
On the surface, drummer Lennon and neurosurgeon Georgia are very different people, their lives and careers miles apart. However, when a devastating incident throws them together, they begin to realise that maybe they are more similar than they thought. Deeply affected by his past, Lennon constantly feels unworthy and incapable of love, whilst Georgia is continually trying to live up to her family’s high expectations. She is, however, perfect for Lennon, strong and compassionate, calm when she needs to be and yet doesn’t take any nonsense from him.
Lennon Reborn is a very emotional story and it nearly broke my heart. I ached for both these characters as they struggled with their life challenges and I was hoping that they’d find strength in each other and happiness together. A lovely, slow burn, passionate book I would definitely recommend.
Love & Family!
Like so many other fans of the Preload Series, I have been anticipating Lennon’s book since the very beginning. Lennon has been the closed off yet intriguing a**hole, whose shell I wanted to crack. Scarlett Cole has been teasing us with slivers of Lennon’s heart and tormented soul all along and I still wasn’t quite prepared for his story. Lennon Reborn is a story about rejection, loss, belonging, hope, and ultimately love. Love in all its glorious manifestations including familial love, self acceptance, affectionate love, and passionate love.
Lennon McCartney is already struggling to find his place in this world. He is a member of a popular band. However, Preload is not just a band they are a family. Due to early childhood trauma, Lennon is always waiting to be left behind or rejected. He pushes away those he cares about in an effort to keep them from rejecting him first. That constant fear is weighing on him and when tragedy strikes his resolve to keep fighting is tested.
Dr. Georgia Starr is a brilliant neurosurgeon. She is passionate about her young patients and their health. Her work is her life and leaves little room for anything else. Despite her career success, her father picks her apart any chance he gets. He is more concerned with his reputation and family legacy than his daughter’s happiness. One icy evening the course of her life is altered. She witnesses a tragic accident and jumps head first into the chaos. While triaging accident victims she stumbles upon Lennon. The connection between Lennon and Georgia is frantic, shocking, and fierce.
Mrs. Cole never fails to draw readers in with her strong, struggling characters and brilliant character arcs. Lennon Reborn is no exception.
Lennon and “Gia” both have issues they need to address and obstacles they must overcome. Their path to happiness is one filled with emotion, disappointment, acceptance, patience and faith. The journey is hard fought and immensely rewarding in the end. Lennon Reborn is a magnificent conclusion to the Preload Series. My heart is full and my eyes a bit misty. Bravo!
“Our rhythm’s been off without you. Not as Preload , but as a five. As brothers. You keep us grounded. You are the heartbeat of our family. It hasn’t been the same without you.”
Lennon Reborn by Scarlett Cole is book Four in the Preload Series. This is the story of Lennon McCartney and Dr. Georgia Starr. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Lennon although a part of the Preload group never really felt that way. Lennon was a torchered sole past and present. Georgia too had her issue and although a successes at work not so much with her personal life. When these to come together they start to fill the hurt and void in the other one.
This is a somewhat Dark Romance but it was a really good one that is hard to put down for sure!
**4-4.5 stars**
Oh this book…it broke my heart and then put it back together again. Ms. Cole didn’t hold anything back with Lennon’s story. I knew this was going to be one filled with so many emotions, but this one got to me even more than the previous books.
Reading about the full extent of Lennon’s past (we got hints of it in the previous books) and what he was going through now, I so wanted him to find the light at the end of the tunnel. That life was worth living. That was Dr. Georgia Starr. She was perfect for him and was so supportive. I loved her straightforwardness and honesty. Lennon, even with all that he was going through, was good for her too.
While this was an emotional story, it was also a story of hope and finding/accepting love and Ms. Cole brought the sexy too! I also loved the epilogue!
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
Easily a 5 star read.
Lennon and Georgia’s story was so much more than I thought it was going to be. Lennon has been a hard nut to crack throughout this series, we always knew that he had some pretty heavy issues to deal with (as all of the guys do) But Lennon buried his issues deep and only let his brothers into his world.
I have to say, that Lennon’s childhood was devastatingly terrible. Thank goodness for Maisey, Ellen and the rest of the Preload brothers that have loved Lennon even when he felt completely unloveable.
Enter Dr. Georgia Starr, in the right place at the right time, she encounters the whole Preload gang. During that encounter, she connects with Lennon in a moment of danger and disaster and their lives are never the same.
Lennon gives Georgia the ability to relax and slow down. In turn, she gives Lennon a sense of comfort and calm that he has never experienced.
I truly adored Lennon and Georgia’s love story but I also enjoyed Lennon’s personal transformation. While he had his setbacks, he realized in order to move on and have a chance at a fulfilling life with Georgia, he had to do the work on himself.
Lennon Reborn was everything I’d hoped it would be a Ms. Cole gave Lennon the HEA he so richly deserved.
This is the first book by Ms Cole that I have read. I couldn’t stop reading it. Georgia and Lennon are amazing together. You’ll want tissues nearby. And the sex is phenomenal. I might have to go back and read the first ones. Georgia is a pediatric neurosurgeon and her family are all neurosurgeons. She is going to her parents and comes up on a bus wreck. Lennon is the drummer for Preload and grew up in a foster home with the other members of the band. He thinks he’s not good enough to be loved. When the bus wrecks he loses one of his arms up to the elbow. He is moody, hateful, and wishes they had let him die. Until Georgia comes and sees how he’s doing. She is the one person who doesn’t pity him and just wants to help. She moves him into her apartment building and continues to stand by him no matter how bad he acts. The more time they spend together the more Georgia falls for the rocker. But because of his childhood he doesn’t think he’s capable of loving her back or at least give her the words. When he finally decides to go back to Toronto, he asks Georgia to go but she loves New York and her job, family not so much. Will she lose him or will she take a chance and finally do what she wants and needs? * Voluntarily read and reviewed for Netgalley *
