Izzy and her helper, Ruth, are pleased the Drunken Pie Cafe is doing so well. In fact they can barely keep up. Izzy James finally feels settled down and at home. Well so much for the peaceful atmosphere-it stops when a man falls off a roof to his death. This man was planning the scavenger hunt and Izzy is determined to get to the bottom of everything. But danger lurks and can she find the killer before he gets to her.
This is another great cozy mystery by author Diane DuMont. Her quirky, unique, interesting, personable small town characters bring the story to life. The mystery is full of unexpected situations, danger, drama and the usual twists and turns. It is an easy yet enjoyable read that can be finished in an evening. The dialogue is great and the narrative adds a lot to the mystery. I am enjoying this series and look forward to the next book.

Izzy has finally found help for her boozy bakery with, Ruby. She finally feels safe to leave Ruby in charge of the shop so she can go out for more lemons to make her Lemon Vodka Pie that everyone loves. Grams and Sprinkles go with her and while driving back Grams screams when she sees her friend Sophia, who runs the salon, running towards them, crying and hysterical because…she found a dead body! This time the killer is even more dangerous than the others and all of Izzy’s friends plead with her to stop sleuthing. But she doesn’t and finds a clue in the form of a pretty crystal hair clip that is being sold in Sophia’s shop.
I love the characters in this story. I want them for my friends and I really want those pies! Especially the Christmas ones that Izzy is trying out for when she puts out her holiday menu! I would love to live in Izzy’s world!

This is the third book in the series but I didn’t have any trouble following along. I enjoyed the book and plan on going back to book one. Izzy is a level headed woman who just can’t let something go once she gets it in her mind, like who killed Tom and why. The story was interesting, with twisty turns and the characters were believable. I especially liked Sprinkles, of course.

You can never go wrong with Diana DuMont’s cozy mysteries! She’s become an author that’s a favorite of mine. Lemon Chiffon Lies is no exception and is another great cozy mystery in the Drunken Pie Cafe Cozy Mystery series. Izzy was just thinking that life was quieting down in Sunshine Springs, her pie shop is going great and she’s got a great circle of new friends. No sooner does she have this thought that another death happens. Is the cause of death an accident in a scavenger hunt or is it murder? Izzy and her trusty dalmatian are on the hunt for clues as to what really happened. A great read, wonderful story line, and fantastic characters. Grab your copy and curl up on the porch and get lost in the story.

Izzy and Grams come across another murder at the lemon grove. Tom Schmidt was there by a lemon tree…very dead. Sophia, the town’s hairdresser actually found him. Now she is top on the suspect list of who killed him. Izzy is sure she didn’t do it, but the more she investigates, the less sure she is. Then someone comes after Izzy herself! Who is the killer and why did they kill Tom and are after Izzy? You will have to read the book to find out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Izzy is really enjoying finally having an employee she can pretty much trust to help her with her boozy pie bakery. Ruby seems to be doing well with running the register, and is pretty great with most people. One fly in the ointment seems to be how super close she is with Belinda.
Belinda is welcome to her every happiness, but as a fellow divorced who was cheated on herself, Izzy finds it a bit hard to enthusiastically embrace the relationship Belinda has with her Tom, after leaving her Frank behind for Tom.
A six month dating anniversary has Belinda atwitter with her plans to surprise Tom with a new set of clubs, and Belinda in a hot new golf outfit. Belinda may not get to realize her plans before someone else realizes theirs.
Murder and mayhem in a small town gets dangerously personal, and Izzy might decide it could be time to turn in her amateur sleuth hat. Things will draw her somewhat closer to Sheriff Mitch and her friend Theo, though Izzy still protests not being recovered enough from her divorce for either of them. Maybe her friend Molly can show her what romance is about.
An intense and intrigue filled KU read. I read this book on Kindle Unlimited. I got an advance copy from Booksprout. I have read most of this series on Kindle or Kindle Unlimited.
Izzy has a Cafe in Sunshine Springs and solves murders on the side. In this book she stumbles across a brutally murdered man while she is driving out with her Gran.
Despite many warnings she tries to figure out the case.
A well-written and entertaining story with quite a few unusual characters. Threats on Izzy’s life bring a little bit of thrill into the blend.
A good read for a relaxing afternoon or evening.
