Legend was a super quick, faster paced, retelling of the story of Tarzan and Jane. Now, here our story is a little darker and more sinister, with a paranormal twist. That’s the fated to be together love story of Karzan and Janey that you get. This is my first time reading this author and I thought her writing style was wonderful.
I am really loving the Sinister Fairytales Collections series. So while Tarzan isn’t a fairytale that I cared all that much about and I had never heard to this author before , I still managed to enjoy this book. It wasn’t all that long and did keep me engaged and entertained so I flew right through it. Legend was a great addition to the Sinister Fairytales Collection.
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book!
– Overall this was a good read!
– There was a long time before the MC’s were even together , but when they finally did it was steamy!
Cliffhanger Warning- HEA. No cliffy!!
I must admit I’ve never read the original tale of Tarzan but Legend was an interesting twist on the Disney version I grew up with. The paranormal twist on this retelling kept me intrigued how their story would play out. Janey and Karzan’s world was full of shifters, betrayals, curses, sacrifice, love and destiny. The bond between then was one fated from the start and I enjoyed seeing things through both of their eyes. Though their tale wasn’t as dark as I may have hoped for Legend was a fast-paced, unique and intriguing read that fans of fantasy or PNR reads would enjoy.
“Its fighting for something because it will shine the world in light, not shadow it in darkness.”
This was my first book from MR Leahy and it was honestly quite impressive. This sinister fairy tale takes two tales (Lion King and Tarzan) and combines them together in a twisted bizarre fashion that ends up being a fantastic tale of love and survival.
The prologue is amazing, a bit lengthy but the author goes to great lengths to help us understand the back story to this legend. The story is quick paced and very much enjoyable…with twists that would’ve never expected from Tarzan. This is by no means your child’s fairy tale…its amazing and beautiful. I loved every page of this tale and can’t wait for our next Sinister Fairy Tale!
Legend was an Amazing read! It’s part of the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection, it’s a dark retelling of Tarzan and it’s freakin Awesome! Short and to the point, this book doesn’t play around! There’s no easing you into anything or Bogging you down with detail. Everything is flawlessly written and flows so well, I was intrigued and captivated! It starts off by grabbing your attention and you’re done for! The prologue had me! I was a goner! I loved the small bit of prophecy and history, it’s exciting! There was never any dull or lag, the story is so intense I just swallowed it whole! I loved it so hard! It was sexy and hot, the powerful connection the characters had was tingling! I was also surprised because I wasn’t expecting that emotional hit at the end, I actually choked back some tears! I’m extremely happy with this retelling it’s easily one of my favorites! It’s not a long story but it doesn’t need to be, it’s flawless! This was my first book by Leahy and she really enchanted me! This is definitely one retelling you don’t want to miss! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
This awesome book is just part of the Sinister Fairytales and if this is any indication of what’s to come, I can’t wait for the rest of the books. Action, adventure, intense, hot and beautiful.
