“There’s no way he’d ever be interested in someone like me, so I poked the bear, so to speak, just to have some of his attention.”
I’ve really been looking forward to this installment of the Arizona Vengeance series after meeting Legend’s next door neighbor Piper in a previous book. She was purposely aggravating him by putting pink flamingo yard ornaments out to get a rise out of him. It never fails to set him off and she likes the attention, even if it is negative. Everyone else loves her and she’s the life of the party. They can’t understand why she gets under his skin so much. Hmmm… I didn’t have to strain my brain too much to guess that he was fighting an attraction to her and that’s why I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Legend as soon as possible.
Piper can’t deny that “He’s built like a Greek god with rippling muscles over a strong stature.” She took notice right away and at every opportunity thereafter. She assumed that she was nothing more than an annoying neighbor to him, but when he came to her for help she could tell that he actually respected her opinion. When he listened to her and followed some of her suggestions she found herself hoping for more. Surely they could at least be friends, right?
While he might not ever come to appreciate her flair for bright colors and jaw-dropping decor it does kind of become tolerable when he gets to know her better. When he looks deeper he sees kindness and genuine caring for others. Which is a very good thing because he’s in desperate need of assistance. She’s the last person he’d ever thought would be there for him, especially after all of his yelling and him reporting her to their HOA. But, apparently, she’s a bigger person than him because she didn’t hesitate.
I can’t give you any details, but I can tell you to expect a surprise twist. The author really pulled out the stops on this one and gave me more than I bargained for. I was expecting explosive chemistry, which I got, but it’s even better than that.
4.5 Stars
Legend.
We already heard about his ‘love’ for his crazy neighbor lady in the last book.
Pepper is a colorful person. A happy person. A bohemian free spirit. She loves to massively decorate her house and front lawn! Legend can’t stand her and her hippie ways. But of course he’s also wildly attracted to her.
And when he arrives home one night – complaining about her crazy christmas decorations – he finds something on his doorstep. Something that requires the help of his neighbor.
Maybe she isn’t as crazy as he thought she was – once he gets to know her up close and personal ….
WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO PEPPER & LEGEND??
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
Book 3! Yay!
We already met Legend and now here’s his book. I was excited to see how he would handle being in love with his crazy neighbor! LOL!
And it’s such a sweet and adorable story!
They’re so perfect for each other. They way she helps him and ugh. I just adored it all!
It even gets very exciting and suspensy … I might’ve even cried a bit here and there!
Great Romance!
Tacker is still my mysterious favorite of the bunch of players – we so need to get his story – but he still has a long road of healing ahead of him until he can fall in forever ever love! He’s in this book quite a bit – poor guy!
There’s a lot of book material still left for us in Phoenix!
Can’t wait to see what Dax will be up to next!
LEGEND was such an adorable & sexy & exciting hockey-baby-enemies-to-lovers love story! I loved it! Run to your nearest amazon for your own LEGEND – this one is MINE!!!
4.25 stars–LEGEND is the third instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult ARIZONA VENGEANCE erotic, hockey romance series focusing on the members of the Arizona Vengeance professional hockey team. This is Vengeance goalie Legend Bay, and children’s book author and artist Pepper Nantais. LEGEND can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for the history between and about the characters. There is a slight-cross over with the author’s Cold Fury Hockey series.
Told from dual first person points of view (Legend and Pepper) LEGEND follows in the wake of a surprise ‘gift’ on Legend’s front porch. Struggling with the logistics, the responsibility, and the unpreparedness of the situation, Legend arrives at his neighbor’s front door desperate for help and immediate support. Enter colorful and feisty Pepper Nantais, and the woman with whom Legend will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Pepper and Legend, and the potential fall-out as Pepper is targeted by a woman from Legend’s past.
Legend Bay has a hate on for his obnoxious neighbour Pepper Nantais, a woman who pushes all of his buttons with her gaudy outdoor displays, especially during the holiday season, but hate may be too strong of a word, as Legend’s attraction to Pepper is matched by the palpable and intense sexual attraction between the leading characters.
The relationship between Pepper and Legend is an enemies to lovers, of a sorts, enemies predicated on Pepper’s outlandish style and Legend’s inability to accept what is. As Pepper becomes a more permanent fixture in Legend’s life, the sexual attraction can no longer be denied. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but, once again, I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word.
All of the previous story line couples, and characters play secondary and supporting characters including Bishop and Brooke, Erik and Blue, Tacker Hall, Dax Monahan and coach Claude Perron. We are introduced to Legend’s parents Wendy and Nathan Bay; Pepper’s parents Richard and Meryl Nantais; Legend’s former girlfriend Lida Martin; Lucy and Charlie.
The world building continues to focus on the players, the game, the camaraderie and the relationships of the Arizona Vengeance. The premise is entertaining, emotional and uplifting; the romance is passionate and seductive; the characters are energetic, strong and sassy. LEGEND is a spicy, spirited and heart warming addition to Bennett’s ARIZONA VENGEANCE.
4.5 Stars
Sawyer Bennett knows men. She seems to know what they think and how they will react to certain situations, and she does it with ease and flair. In other words, she has the knack on the dudes, and sports ones are her specialty in my opinion.
What can I say, Legend is a legend! Not only for his brilliant hockey skills but also for his cool, calm and decisive demeanour. And he needs it in this book with abundance. Legend is put to the test on a few different accounts and I have to say, he did good! Pepper undertakes some major happenings as well that will have you gasping. She reveals so much to Legend about her past and I was touched by her sensitive story. Even though I was hoping for more of the back and forth banter that these two had in the previous books, I was happy with the way this couple came together out of respect and devoir. It is a quick read, with plenty of action, on and off the ice, but there is a whole other level that will keep you mesmerised.
Within this book, we are getting more of an insight into Dax and Tacker, which I am getting very excited about. Each of them has a very unique story to tell.
Legend was so good! So, this can be read as a stand alone, but if you’ve read previous books, you remember Legend’s neighbor Pepper, who drove him crazy. Well, we all knew it was just because they had chemistry. And now there’s a surprise baby so they have no time for silly feuds. He’s such a good insta daddy. And these two have like a perfect, natural progression of things. Of course he has a crazy ex and some serious drama within the team. At times the book was intense, emotional, very deep. I felt so much, and fell so in love with this couple.
Legend and Pepper are proof that opposites do attract, from the moment they meet sparks fly. This is a beautiful love story that warms the heart and fans those flames.
I’m loving how Sawyer Bennett gives you a glimpse into past characters and how their life is progressing, keeping you updated while bringing you a new and truly enjoyable read with even more characters to love.
This is the first book in this hockey series by Sawyer Bennett.
Bishop is a hockey player on a new team formed with people from different teams. The night before their first practice he goes out and meets Brooke. He’s thinking a one night stand is just what he needs before he plays for his new team.
Brooke comes back home to help her father after her mother passes away with his hockey team. She decides to go out the night before her first day on the job and meets Bishop. Brooke’s been around hockey all her life but she doesn’t follow the players so she has no idea Bishop is a hockey player on her dads team.
When Bishop comes into work the next day after a steamy night with Brooke it’s a surprise to see Brooke in the office, but when her dad walks in and see’s Brooke and Bishop together the lie starts.
I loved Bishop and Brooke’s story it’s hot and sweet. I can’t wait to read the rest in the series to find out more about these hockey players. This will be a must read series.

STORY:
Another well-told story in the series for me. I felt that not only does the author focuses on the main characters, but you are getting a bit of story from past and upcoming characters. I didn’t know what to expect with Legend, but really enjoyed his and Pepper’s story. An adorable baby and watching a growing relationship that started with sex only and blossoms. Legend was good, and I love his emotions from scared to Father bear. Pepper, I know this was a book, but wanted her to have one of her own <~if spoiler-ish sorry. I enjoyed the audio version of this as well. I thought the male and female did a great job. CHEMISTRY: Amazing physical chemistry. Love the car washing scene. I’ve said this before in my book 2 review. Love their physical chemistry, but it still has not rival Bishop’s and Brook’s physical chemistry. There was a section in the book when Pepper was speaking with Blue from book 2 and Blue asked Pepper how Legend is in bed. Like, *eyebrows raised* l couldn’t believe that was Blue asking that question lol and she sounded so scandalous when she asked. SECONDARY CHARACTERS Of course, what pushed my enjoyment with the series, is the multitude of characters. Tacker, it’s hard to read about him with each book. Dax, eager to read his story not use to him being so quiet as the man whore of the group. Bishop and Brook, so sweet. Love them all. Overall, another good read and looking forward to completing the series, although I’m thinking of stopping after Dominick, not sure. **Triggers: kidnapping and driving while drunk. ***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
This is a series I’m thoroughly enjoying. I wish I could devour it, but with time constraints, it’s dragging out a bit. Which is fine by me.
Legend Bay is an amazing player on the Arizona Vengeance hockey team. They’re having a great year so far, and hopefully a Stanley Cup is in their future. When an unexpected event turns his life almost upside down, help from Pepper, his “neighbor from hell,” is both surprising and needed. There’s been an attraction between Legend and Pepper, but Legend believed his teammate Dax was dating her. Regardless of his attraction, that made her off limits. But when Dax reveals his true intentions, Legend and Pepper eventually get closer, a result of spending more and more time together.
This story was full of feels, and I won’t say Legend is my favorite, but without giving spoilers, it’s a classic reason for swooning on a guy. It’s about family, and not just your blood. Everyone knows the Arizona Vengeance is a family, as well as a team. These guys love each other, and would do anything for their brothers or those they love. Of course, there’s lots of heat in this story. Duh! They’re hot rich professional hockey players!
Of course, Joe Arden makes this story, and I think he may be my favorite voice for hockey players. Andi Arndt is her usual amazing self, and they make a wonderful team telling Legend and Pepper’s story.
Now, onto Dax!
I was engrossed and loved every minute of it. Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Wow! So I had to go backward and read this one and was just floored with all the love pouring out of this story. So much was going on in this story. You had the whole enemies to lovers, surprise baby, single daddy, and kidnapping. I was engrossed and loved every minute of it.
5 Stars!
Enemies to lovers & surprise baby with a twist. What a fantastic combination!! Legend never expected to become a father, he’s always been careful. But when a tiny baby ends up in his life his alpha male protectiveness steps right in and it’s nothing short of swoon-worthy. Legend takes to fatherhood like every man should.
Pepper has lived next door to Legend for a few months now. They’ve had an on going battle over her lawn decor. The moment Legend’s baby appears he seeks out Pepper for help. Suddenly their feud is no longer and a strong attraction is growing between them.
This was an unstoppable read. I sank right into the world of Legend and Pepper and came back out less than 24 hours later. What a page turner!!! I can’t get enough of these alpha male hockey players!
Among all the Arizona Vengeance books I’ve listened to so far, this one had me at the edge of my seat the most! I loved the drama and suspense brought on by Lida, and loved that it wasn’t over the top!
Legend and Pepper (love their names!) were perfect for each other. Yes, they started out as enemies, but then their relationship quickly evolved once Charlie came into the picture. It was awesome to see them both make space their lives for one other and for Charlie.
Narrators Joe Arden and Andi Arndt were wonderful as Legend and Pepper. Their performance made the characters more relatable.
Legend is a single dad, enemies-to-lovers contemporary sports romance written in dual first-person POV. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
Legend (Arizona Vengeance #3) was a great read by Sawyer Bennett. The Arizona Vengeance is the hottest new hockey team. Legend is the goalie and is one of the best players in the league. Legend returns home one day and notices that his hot neighbor Pepper went overboard with her lawn decorations. When he went to tell her off he notices that there is a little present on his front door. I loved Pepper and Legend’s story and I can’t wait to read more by Sawyer Bennett.
Not only was this a beautiful love story but this was a breathtakingly exquisite journey of a father accepting responsibility, and fighting furiously for his child. Legend and Pepper had a rocky start, but the way they came together was amazing. Sawyer Bennett outdid herself with this one. I have been a fan of hers for a long time, all her books are an instant one-click for me. I loved and adored all her other books, but this one warmed my heart in the best way possible. I could not put this book down, I may have lost some sleep but it was absolutely worth it. I enjoyed this story immensely.
Legend
Arizona Vengeance, Book 3
By: Sawyer Bennett
Narrated by: Joe Arden, Andi Arndt
The Arizona Vengeance has a chemistry between it’s players and this story shows just how strong it is. Each player has strengths and weaknesses, but they always have each other’s back. Legend is the goalie, and in this case the puck slipped by ad he was blessed with a baby on his doorstep! But he has no experience with a baby. He enlists the help of his annoying neighbor Pepper, who is more than helpful. And he realizes, she isn’t nearly as annoying as he thought! Pepper has always been attracted to Legend, and liked getting under his skin with her quirkiness. Now with Charlie, these two find out there is chemistry between them. Will it last past the initial shock of becoming a father? Does Pepper want to be in the limelight of a hockey player’s news? There are obstacles for these two to overcome, and a twist that adds excitement and suspense to this fun loving, warm hearted installment. You can’t help but fall in love with this couple. Add the team players that come out to help like Dax and Tacker and we find ourselves feeling like part of the team.
Not only does Sawyer Bennett score a goal with this single dad romance, but her narration team is incredible. Andi Arndt and Joe Arden always give their performances all the feels, the humor and heart tugs that we have come to love. Each one finds their person’s voice and let’s us fall in love.

This is the third book in the Arizona Vengeance Series, a Sports Romance. I love this Series! Legend and Pepper’s enemies to lovers story is beautifully written! Legend is a handsome man, protective and caring. Pepper is a lovely woman, caring and supportive. They are great together, and I love how they teamed together for Charlie. The storyline is fun, and emotional, with a little suspense. I love the brotherhood between the Arizona Vengeance team members. Joe Arden and Andi Arndt did a great job with the narration. I highly recommend this story and this Series.
This is another wonderful story in this series. This one was a shocker to me. I had no idea what was going to happen. There are laughs and serious times in here. The characters are so well written. Pepper was a delight and fresh. I enjoyed the times the boys hang out.
I listened to this on audio. Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are the narrators. They did a great job! Both were ideal for these characters.
Wow another brilliant book in the Arizona Vengeance series.
Loved Legend and Pepper. Two souls made for each other. Needed the tissues towards the end but just simply a wonderful storyline.
Legend is the hottest goalie in the league right now and he is loving all the media attention that goes along with it. Returning home from his daily workout at the arena he is blinded by Peppers Christmas decorations on her house and has about had enough and is ready to confront her, again, about her over the top and annoying ways until something on his doorstep catches his eye. When Legend finds a baby girl on his front porch he freaks out and runs over to Pepper’s house to seek her help. When Pepper steps in full force to help Legend care for little Charlie he begins to see that her quirky behaviour is actually one of the things that he enjoys about her and starts to see Pepper in a new light.
Again, Sawyer Bennett does not disappoint in the hockey romance category. Legend and Pepper’s enemy-to-lovers story was fun and exciting right from the beginning. Throw in a baby and a crazy ex-girlfriend and you have a fun and suspenseful novel. This book is highly recommended as are all of Sawyer Bennett’s hockey romances as they never disappoint.
Legend is the third book in the Arizona Vengeance series by Sawyer Bennett which can be read as a standalone or as part of the Arizona Vengeance series and is written in Legend and Pepper’s point of view. I recommend this novel and give Legend 5 stars.
Wonderful Story & Narration Heartfelt & Moving!
Legend: An Arizona Vengeance Novel
By: Sawyer Bennett
Narrated by: Joe Arden, Andi Arndt
Sawyer Bennett pens another amazing “Arizona Vengeance” novel and I loved every word of it. She has a wonderful writing style, creates storylines that are interesting, likable, easy to relate to and captivating from start to end. I also adore the characters she creates, they are complex and well developed, there is so much more to each one of the hot hockey players on the team and it is great finding out more about them. This is book is Legend’s story, he is a goalie for the team and an all around likable guy. He and his neighbor Pepper are at odds because of her flamboyant decor she places around her home, some she does just to taunt him. Pepper is an author who works from home, she likes to make her yard bright and cheery for inspirational purposes, add bonus is it bothers her grumpy neighbor, Legend. Just before Christmas Legend arrives home to find an unexpected package waiting for him, he is shocked and runs to Pepper’s house for assistance. I thought it was great how she helped him with everything, the two were great together and for each other. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is plenty of drama, angst, some action packed thrilling & suspenseful moments that brought me to the edge of my seat and a buildup to a wonderful romance. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the audio edition, Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, giving each their own unique voice and personality. They do a great job projecting the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen
