One year ago, I graduated from law school and embarked on a career as a purveyor of high priced legal shenanigans.Six months ago, my boyfriend dumped me when I thought he might be proposing. Two weeks ago, I got drunk and joined a secret sex club. Two days ago, I had a torrid one-night stand with a stranger.Today? My one-night stand is no longer a stranger.Today, he’s my new boss.Matt Connover is … boss.
Matt Connover is all kinds of forbidden temptation wrapped up in a deliciously wicked package, and he’s made it clear… he’s only interested in sex.
My name is McKayla Dawson, and I work at the powerhouse firm of Connover & Crown, LLP, where the law has never felt so hot.
But between you and me, I’m afraid my heart won’t survive these Legal Affairs.

Why oh why has it taken me so long to read this series??? Loved this fun, quick, sexy read so much I had a hard time putting it down because it seduces you and entrances you. Makayla was fresh out of a relationship and a new lawyer who needed a night to let loose enter Matt well known lawyer and doesn’t do relationships which is why he uses “One Night Only”. What happens next was jaw dropping and so worth the read…. I’m sure you would LOVE to know right??? Then grab this book because you won’t be sorry.
Really liked the characters and their story..
Loved it
One night brought Makayla and Matt together for a steamy encounter. Once they found out they would be working together, things got interesting and the chemistry between them continued. I loved the interactions between Makayla and Matt. They were hot, witty, and powerful. There were the usual bumps that come with working together and wanting each other. I enjoyed listening to Kirsten Leigh narrate this story as she did a great job bringing the story to life.
This is my unsolicited review.
My Rating: ***
Type: Standalone. Originally released in 6- parts Novella
Genre: Contemporary Fiction Romance, Office Romance
Primary Characters: Matt Connover & McKayla Dawson,
Narration: Single POV
I have read few Sawyer Bennett’s novel long ago. I picked this up on random, based on the blurb. All 6 parts are way shorter than my expectation. I finished all 6 in one go.
Part 1: Objection
Part 2: Stipulation
Part 3: Violation
Part 4: Mitigation
Part 5: Reparation
Part 6: Affirmation
In the part 1 Objection, it starts exactly as described in the blurb. Mac’s drunken mistake of joining a club and her one-night stand, which she thinks is amazing, now seems like the biggest mistake of her life. Her new boss Matt is her one-night stand. Mac is strong loyal and smart. She stands against Matt and they agree to forgot that instant quickly.
However, it’s not easy to crib their attraction for each other. Other parts of the story go on to follow them with the way they fight the attraction, feeling, giving in to their attraction along with work. I loved that it’s not insta love. Even though character and relationship building is not so stellar, its way better. I liked Mac more than Matt. The way she stands up and control her felling and not act all “Doe Eyed” is the best part of this entire series.
Book had its own up’s and down. All parts are shorter with few chapters. Push and pull between them were high. They both just couldn’t make up their mind, which is bit annoying. Cal and Macy were interesting secondary charters. Plot is ok with nice narration.
Overall it’s an ok, entertaining read. If you are in mood for fun and light story with the workplace romance backdrop then this might be for you.
Legal Affairs, Box Set: Volumes 1-6. Each book if read separately would end in a cliff hanger and each book contains drama and angst. This is the Love Story of Matt Connover, Litigation Attorney and McKayla Dawson, Mac, a young Attorney working as an associate. They meet through an Online Hook-up site, One Night Only, and each leave thinking that was the best sex of their lives…But Matt ends up being her boss and the hot chemistry turns into hot tension as they both try to avoid each other. Matt makes it clear that he doesn’t do relationships and since Mac is obsessed with his “junk” she agrees to nothing but sex, even though she wants more. Break-ups and getting back together happen in between his manipulation verses her doormat syndrome and the the sex got to be just to much before the rushed ending of HEA.
I’m a fan of Sawyer Bennett and will continue to read her books. This book just didn’t do it for me and I wanted to put it down multiply times. The MCs I didn’t like, I couldn’t get over his cold manipulation and her blindness to being used. To much breaking and up and getting back together with nothing being solved and then WHAM he is telling her he loves her, I didn’t buy it and it felt to rushed. On to the next…
Steamy
I have never been stuck on a book like I was with this one. It was so good and erotic, so many emotions.
Captivating and steamy- great read!
A little too graphic for me, but amusing.
Great story, couldn’t put it down!
I loved this book. You don’t know what’s going to happen with them right up until the end. Great ending.
Hot, Hot, Hot
I loved this book and the rest in the series. Great characters and exciting pace. I became a J. Kenner fan after this one.
Omg i absolutely loved it
I’m a sucker for legal fiction. This one didn’t disappoint with the snappy dialog and the larger than life characters. More graphic than I like but still a fun read.
Matt is the very capable man harmed by a previous marriage gone bad and Marissa is just woman to breakmdown his defenses.
I did not enjoy. Would not recommend.
enjoyed it
